Ab-Soul Asked LeBron James To A&R His Next Album And The NBA Star Agreed

LeBron James is doing something no other NBA player has done in the history of the league. No, I’m not talking about scoring 40+ points against all 30 teams, although that is historical and impressive. No, he’s the first NBA player to become one of hip-hop’s go-to A&Rs, despite having little formal music business experience.

What he does have, though, is a golden ear — or at least, a big enough following to turn burgeoning viral songs into bonafide Billboard hits. Any song that makes its way into one of James’ offseason workout posts has the potential to skyrocket. For example, when he played Tee Grizzley’s “First Day Out” on his Instagram story, fans flocked, shooting what might have been a one-off from the Detroit bar smith into the upper atmosphere of rap radio bangers.

In 2019, he offered his A&R duties to trap veteran 2 Chainz, resulting in an executive producer credit on Rap Or Go To The League, and now, he’s going for a repeat with Top Dawg Entertainment rapper Ab-Soul. Despite Soulo being just a month removed from the release of his new album Herbert, he’s already looking ahead to his next, asking James at Wednesday night’s game against the Clippers (which the Clippers won, 113-104) to A&R his next project.

Ab captured the moment on video and posted it to his Instagram, calling working with James a “rite of passage.” “Top [Dawg] told me to ask you if you would A&R the next album,” he said. “Yeah, I can do that,” LeBron replied. Surely, such a project won’t be coming out anytime soon, but LeBron’s involvement will make the wait for it even harder than the six-year break between Ab’s last two albums.

Kwame Brown Claims He Would Take His Career Over LeBron’s

Kwame Brown is someone who has been roasted quite a bit over the last two decades. As a number one overall pick, he came into the NBA with a ton of weight on his shoulders. Additionally, he was taken by Michael Jordan, which made things harder.

In the end, Brown had a lengthy NBA career, although he was never the star that people hoped he would be. For people like Stephen A. Smith, he has become a punchline and it is going to be difficult for that to ever change. Regardless, Brown seems comfortable in his own skin.

Kwame Brown Speaks

Recently, Kwame Brown was on The Pivot Podcast where he spoke at length about his NBA career. He received some fairly tough questions throughout the interview, however, he handled them very well. He even made some eye-opening comments about his career and how he is compared to someone like LeBron James.

“Being a bust is better,” he said. “LeBron can’t do what I can do.” Some might find this comment to be egregious, although it is important to understand the point that is being made here. As a result of his fame and success, LeBron cannot live like a regular person. However, Brown can leave his house as he pleases while enjoying some sort of normality.

Despite this, many fans will still clown Brown for the statement. At the end of the day, it’s all about what you prioritize in life. Clearly, Brown feels comfortable with where he is, and he would not trade it for the world.

Let us know what you think of Brown’s take, in the comments down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for more news and updates from the sports world.

LeBron James Agrees To A&R Ab-Soul’s Next Album

LeBron James will get in his A&R bag for Ab-Soul’s follow-up to Herbert.

Ab-Soul recently took to Instagram where he shared a recent link up with LeBron James at the Crypto.com Arena. Following the Lakers’ 113-104 win against the Spurs, the two chopped it up, eventually leading Ab-Soul to propose that James serves as the A&R on his next album.

“You really the right of passage,” Soulo said shortly after the Lakers’ win. “Top [Dawg] told me to ask you if you would A&R the next album.”

“Yeah, I could do that,” James replied. Ab-Soul went on to explain that Calamatic, the director of the Lebron James-starring House Party, previously shot videos for himself and Kendrick Lamar back in the day. Overall, it seems as though LeBron James could help bring Ab-Soul’s next body of work to life.

Though James was rather nonchalant about A&Ring the next Soulo album, he’s undoubtedly a big fan of Herbert. Upon the album’s release, James tweeted, “Ab-Herbert-Soul is so COLD MAN!!!!!!!!! [Fire] project G.” Ab-Soul later asked for courtside seats to a Lakers game.

LeBron James is no stranger to the A&R role. He previously served as an executive producer of 2 Chainz’s Rap Or Go To The League. However, he took on an A&R role, as well, putting together the tracklist and helping with sequencing.

“We put the unexpected together, we painted a beautiful picture together,” 2 Chainz told Vanity Fair of Lebron’s role on the album. “And that’s what we continue to do—we’re really friends. He and Maverick [Carter, LeBron’s business partner] have a wonderful blueprint of how to bring your friends up with you—share the wealth. And it was important that I brought in someone of his stature. He was a presence that I appreciated having around. I mean, let’s be real—he’s King James.”

We’ll keep you posted on the Ab-Soul’s next album.

LeBron James Looked Fed Up On The Lakers Bench Last Night

LeBron James has been carrying the Los Angeles Lakers on his back throughout the entire season. Overall, the Lakers have not been particularly good. However, LeBron has been extremely fun to watch. At 38 years old, he continues to put up some truly incredible stat lines.

For instance, James scored 46 points against the Los Angeles Clippers last night. This was a huge performance, especially since he is only a few games away from breaking the scoring record. With each huge performance, he gets that much closer to toppling Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s longstanding record.

LeBron On The Bench

During the game against the Clippers, it was clear that the Lakers would lose. They just didn’t have enough fire power to keep up, especially with Kawhi Leonard back for the Clippers. Needless to say, it was a rough outing for the Lakers, who could not stay afloat.

Of course, this was very frustrating for LeBron James, who did everything he could to help his team win the game. Furthermore, he had to endure his teammates fighting on the bench. For instance, Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder got into it over a turnover. Subsequently, this led to a hilarious clip of LeBron on the bench, where he looked absolutely fed up with everyone around him.

Overall, the Lakers still have a lot of work to do if they want to go to the playoffs. Rui Hachimura should be coming in shortly, while the Lakers are looking to make additional moves by the trade deadline. Hopefully, for LeBron, he can get at least a bit of help so these performances don’t go to waste.

LeBron James Filmed By Wife Savannah As He Plays “Madden”

LeBron James is currently in his 20th season in the NBA, and he is still putting up insane numbers. For instance, he ended up scoring a grand total of 46 points last night against the Clippers. Overall, these kinds of numbers are simply unheard of for a 38-year-old.

That being said, LeBron is likely going to retire within the next half-decade. Playing until 40 will most likely be in the cards, especially since he wants to play with Bronny. However, he is probably looking forward to spending more time at home with his family.

LeBron & Savannah

LeBron and his wife Savannah have been together since high school, and they are always having a good time together. Sometimes, however, LeBron likes to sit back and relax while playing a game of Madden. Even all of these years later, James will lock in and game as if he were a teenager.

Recently, Savannah decided to secretly record one of these gaming sessions. In the video clip below, you can see LeBron staring at the screen with intensity in his eyes. Moreover, it appears as though he is playing against the computer, which makes it that much funnier. Either way, James is still a kid at heart.

LeBron has frequently shown his devotion to Madden. He created a tournament with his teammates on the Lakers back in 2020 during the bubble. Furthermore, for his birthday, he got to play Madden at SoFi Stadium. Needless to say, James has a huge passion for football and we’re almost certain he wishes he had played at least a season in the NFL.

LeBron James Comments On Bronny’s College Decision

LeBron James is currently looking to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for most points in the regular season. Overall, LeBron is a legend, and he will likely beat this record in under 10 games. Needless to say, the man has come through with some truly incredible accolades.

Additionally, James now gets to watch his sons excel at the sport he has dominated for years. Bronny and Bryce currently play for Sierra Canyon, and they have been great. In fact, Bronny is now looking to pick a college program, and he has a few places in mind.

It has been reported that Bronny is down to three choices. Those teams are Oregon, USC, and Ohio State. However, Bronny has yet to publically comment on his college hunt. Moreover, it seems like he will only commit to a team once his high school season is officially over.

LeBron Weighs In

Recently, LeBron was asked about Bronny and which college he will go to. That is when James revealed that Bronny can go wherever he wants. James even noted that he will pick up the phone if he has to.

“I think Bronny can go to any college he wants to. All I have to do is pick up the phone. If Bronny says he wants to go there, he’s good enough,” LeBron said.

It is clear that the proud father has a ton of confidence in his son. This is obviously great news for Bronny, who is going to need that support as he makes the biggest decision of his young adult life.
