Detroit Lions Outlast L.A. Rams 24-23 to Advance in NFL Playoffs

The Detroit Lions spoiled the homecoming of former franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford, winning their wildcard matchup over the Los Angeles Rams 24-23.

The win for the Lions was their first playoff victory in over 32 years. The chanting faithful fans for current quarterback Jared Goff marked the game. Goff threw for 277 yards on 22-for-27 passing.

“I kind of had to subdue a lot of emotions this week and was able to kind of enjoy that moment,” Goff said. “I’m grateful for their support and today with the circumstances that were there, it meant a lot. It was special.”

He’s their quarterback. He’s playing great. He led them to a win today. I’m happy for him,” Stafford said to ESPN. “I thought he played excellent today. He’s leading an offense that’s playing at a really good clip right now, and they should be proud of him. They should be cheering for him.”

The Rams began the season 3-6, roaring to a close behind a blend of rising stars like Puka Nakua and Kyren Williams, with established stars like Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Aaron Donald.

“I’m so proud of this football team,” McVay said. “And the finality of it is still kind of … it doesn’t totally resonate. But man did I learn a lot and really appreciate this group. They helped me find my way again and how much I love this and love the people that I’m around.”

The Lions now wait to host the winner of the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They matchup on Monday Night Football.

Gunna is back outside, pulling up to the Los Angeles Rams game. During his time at SoFi Stadium, Rams players greeted him, including wide receiver Puka Nucua, who handed him his jersey. Gunna also tossed a football down the field. He wasn’t Matthew Stafford, but it was still a good toss. You can see the moments below.
