Kodak Black has had a share of his challenges throughout his career. He has found himself behind bars multiple times. And it looks like he may be at it again. We hope not as we never want to see a young superstar like Yak put his life in jeopardy.
We are rooting for the Kutthroat Bill rapper to turn his life around. He has a family, is a leader in his community, and has a tremendous influence in Hip Hop today. Will Kodak Black go back to prison? Here’s a few reasons why he may escape jail time.
Drug Rehab
Last week, Kodak Black was ordered to attend a drug rehabilitation program after fentanyl was found in his system. Although he was able to attend Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, this past weekend, the “Super Gremlin” rapper reported to rehab on March 8th. After missing a mandatory court-ordered drug test last month, Broward County Judge Barbara Duffy issued a warrant for Kodak’s arrest.
The Florida rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, believes the urine test of his client was a false positive. Throughout his relationship with Kodak, Cohen says he has never tested positive for fentanyl and has already gone through treatment for similar issues in the past. Cohen also suggests that a lab employee could’ve made an error while handling his client’s file because of his status.
In response to this, Judge Duffy opted for a hair sample from the “ZEZE” rapper, to which he declined. This is when the Judge ordered him to attend an in-patient rehab facility, but Kodak didn’t seem to mind. He had other things to worry about, like getting a jolly rancher before heading out.
If Kodak can successfully complete rehab, then surely Judge Duffy will notice his efforts and keep him out of jail.
Yak Needs This Team
Good thing, the 25-year-old rapper has good influences around him this time around. During Kodak’s time at Rolling Loud, his team helped him stay clear of all drugs. His team also wanted him to focus on his health over the weekend as a physician monitored his meals. Staying clean and sober before rehab was the only goal for Yak and his team. Also, to help him stay on the straight and narrow path, the court tagged the “Wake Up In The Sky” rapper with a GPS ankle monitor. He wore the monitor while performing.
It was a successful performance for Yak, even though at one point a fan threw a water bottle at him. If he can always keep this team around him, I don’t see Kodak going to jail.
Kodak is Too Busy For Jail
Yak has had his ups and downs thus far in his career. The Back for Everything rapper is busy these days and that could be in his favor. At Rolling Loud, he announced that he is opening his own chicken wing company. Kodak calls it “Kodak’s Wings” and festival attendees were able to try some of his wings at the three day festival. The official launch is set to be later this year. “Kodak’s Wings” will serve dishes such as wing and fry combos and chicken tender baskets.
Not only does he have business ventures, but he also has to work. With Yak behind bars, he will be missing out on shows as he was tapped for the Broccoli City Festival. The D.C.-based event will be held from July 15-16. We all know Kodak loves to perform for his fans after earlier this year when he missed a performance. Video surfaced of him pleading with the venue to let him perform as he even offered to pay.
A few weeks ago, the “King Snipe” rapper revealed he is enrolled at Arizona State University. After receiving his GED in jail, Yak wanted to continue his education. Going to jail right now shouldn’t be in Kodak’s plans.
Uncle Trump Has His Back
If Kodak Black is on the verge of going to jail, I believe Donald Trump will help him out. It seems like the two have a bit of respect for each other. Before Trump’s presidency came to an end, he granted Kodak clemency, in which he was able to be released from prison. The main reason the ex-President did this was because of Kodak’s donations to enrich the education sector in his community.
In celebration of his pardon, the Sniper Gang CEO had a ring made with the words “Trump Ties” on one side and the date he was pardoned on the other side. Kodak calls him “Uncle Trump” now and even purchased a near $10,000 pendant of the former host of The Apprentice. The pendant depicts the 45th President smoking weed while wearing his infamous red MAGA hat. Yak remains connected to Trump as mentioned before, he is represented by Bradford Cohen. Cohen is a friend and supporter of Trump appearing on The Apprentice in 2004.
Kodak makes sure he stays on Trump’s good side. After Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime performance, the 76 year old entrepreneur went to his own social platform, Truth Social, to say that it was the “worst half-time show in history”. Black went to Instagram to post a video affirming Trump’s statements. Fans weren’t too happy with him doing so, but the young man knows how to play his hand.
Let us know if you think Kodak Black will stay on the straight and narrow path after rehab in the comments.
