Kevin Durant Hilariously Goes Back And Forth With Fans Over FIBA Rules

Every time the United States plays in an international basketball tournament, there are fans who want to see the NBA adopt some of the FIBA rules. FIBA rules are the standard in most other basketball leagues in the world, making the NBA rules unique in that regard. Kevin Durant is not one of those people.

On Sunday, Team USA defeated Serbia in a 110-84 rout. Kevin Durant led all scorers, finishing the game with 23 points. He ended the first half 8/8 from the field and 5/5 from 3-point land to finish with 21. He did not need to play much in the second half. The US took a 9-point lead into halftime that quickly ballooned to 22. The lead settled at 26, their margin of victory. During some downtime between their defeat of Serbia and their next game on Wednesday, Durant, a frequent social media user, took to X (formerly Twitter) to push back against some fans who wanted to see more international rules make their way to the American game.

Kevin Durant Responds To FIBA Rules vs. NBA Rules Debate

Kevin Durant is one of the most accomplished American basketball players around in international play. He’s won three Olympic gold medals in 2012, 2016, and 2020, and won gold at the 2010 FIBA World Cup. It is safe to say that he is very familiar with the differences between the international and American games. Since the NBA’s primary goal is to be an entertainment product, the rules are different to make games more enjoyable for fans. Moreover, things like defensive 3-second violations and goaltending are not rules in other leagues, but they are in the NBA. Fans often clamor for those rules to be done away with after watching international competition. Clearly, Durant does not share those sentiments.

Team USA are the favorites to win gold once again. However, the rest of the world has gotten more talented. Olympic host country France gave the US a difficult time during the gold medal game in Tokyo. This United States team is much better than the one that nearly finished with a silver medal three years ago. Durant, one of the greatest players of all time, would be great regardless of what the NBA rulebook looked like. It is always interesting to get his perspective on basketball topics, especially ones that are discussed as often among fans as “FIBA rules vs. NBA rules” is.

Steve Kerr Says He Feels Like an ‘Idiot’ for Not Playing Jayson Tatum in Team USA win

Jayson Tatum Agrees To a 5 Year Max Contract Extension

The Team USA win over Serbia featured plenty of LeBron James and Kevin Durant but none of Jayson Tatum. After the win in the opening game of the tournament, head coach Steve Kerr said he felt like an idiot for not getting Tatum on the court.

“[Jayson Tatum] handled it well. I talked to him today before the game, that it may play out this way just with Kevin coming back,” Kerr said to ESPN. “I felt like an idiot not playing him.”

In a dominant display, LeBron James and Kevin Durant propelled the U.S. Men’s National Team to a 110-84 win over Serbia in their opening group phase game. LeBron, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, and Durant, USA Basketball’s all-time leading scorer, showcased their exceptional talents in this crucial match.

Serbia initially stunned the USA with a quick 10-2 lead, prompting coach Steve Kerr to call a timeout just 2:41 into the game. The tide turned when Durant, who had missed all five preparation games due to a calf strain, entered the game with 2:33 left in the first quarter. Durant’s presence ignited an 18-3 run for the USA, coinciding with Serbia’s Nikola Jokic heading to the bench.

Durant’s first-half performance was flawless, scoring 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting, including 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. LeBron complemented Durant’s efforts, scoring 12 points on 5-for-5 shooting and adding 5 assists and 3 rebounds. The USA led by nine points at halftime.

Durant finished with 23 points, while LeBron added 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. The USA also saw strong contributions from Jrue Holiday (15 points), Stephen Curry (11 points), and Anthony Edwards (11 points). Despite Jokic’s impressive 20 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals, Serbia struggled, particularly during Jokic’s nine minutes on the bench, where 26 points outscored them.

The group phase continues Wednesday, with the USA facing South Sudan at 3 p.m. ET and Serbia taking on Puerto Rico at 11:15 a.m. ET.

Jermaine Dupri Responds To Steph Curry’s “Not Like Us” Fatigue, Kevin Durant Weighs In

Jermaine Dupri found himself a bit surprised by a recent take from Steph Curry. As you have probably seen by now, Curry exposed himself as someone who is completely tired of “Not Like Us.” Overall, this is the number-one song in the world. However, many have grown tired of it. Before a recent Team USA exhibition game, Curry noted that it isn’t the only song in the world and that he would like to hear something else from time to time.

This led to a video message from Durpi. In this message, the music mogul noted that the record is one that has had a massive impact. However, this current generation isn’t used to records lasting for more than a few weeks. Consequently, that is why someone like Curry may think that the song is getting overplayed. It’s certainly an interesting take from Dupri, especially given his track record as an industry leader who knows a whole lot about the music business.

Kevin Durant ended up replying to Dupri and noted that he thinks the music mogul is incorrect in his assessment here. “Maybe bro just wanna hear another song,” KD replied. Needless to say, there is a bit of division right now over the song. Although that is certainly going to be expected when it comes to diss tracks. Only time will tell for how much longer this track is going to end up lasting.

Let us know what you think of Dupri’s remarks, and KD’s subsequent reply, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that “Not Like Us” has been getting a bit old over the last few weeks? Do you believe that this record deserves to be number one right now? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Kevin Durant Hilariously Creeped Out By IShowSpeed’s Loving Gaze

Kevin Durant is easily one of the best NBA players of all time. Overall, his scoring prowess speaks for itself and he has certainly accomplished a lot during his 18 years in the league. As it stands, Durant plays for the Phoenix Suns, who are in a bit of a predicament. They have a big three of him, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker. However, they currently lack depth and they don’t have any money to spend. Regardless, they are confident they can put it all together next season.

Recently, Durant got to sit down with Logan Paul for an interview on his show ImPaulsive. Durant is easily one of the most esteemed guests Logan has ever had on, and it was all filmed on location. Moreover, popular streamer IShowSpeed got to join in on all of the fun. In the clip below, you can see that Speed was looking lovingly at Durant the entire time, and his face was getting close to the NBA star. This subsequently led to Durant getting the creeps, and demanding that Speed back up.

If you’re a fan of KD, you should definitely give it a listen.

Kevin Durant Refuses To Bring Women Around IShowSpeed

Kevin Durant and IShowSpeed are an unlikely combo. They’re complete opposites in terms of demeanor and temperament. Durant is chilled out as can be on the basketball court. IShowSpeed, meanwhile is the definition of spontaneous energy. That being said, the two men are friendly. They even sat down for a joint appearance on the Impaulsive Podcast on July 9. When it came time to discuss dating situations, though, Kevin Durant laid down a hard rule. No women around IShowSpeed.

The whole interaction came about when IShowSpeed asked if Durant would go on a two-man with him. The NBA superstar took a beat before saying: “I would not bring any women around you.” IShowSpeed is surprised by the response, and claims that he’s good with women. Kevin Durant doubled down. “If they fresh, and I never met ’em before,” he asserted. “And their first entry point with me is with you? No.” It proceeded to crack up IShowSpeed and the hosts of the podcast. There was no ill will between the two men, however, as the topic quickly shifted to the planning of IShowSpeed’s 21st birthday.

Kevin Durant Spent The Podcast Roasting IShowSpeed

This isn’t the only time during the podcast that Kevin Durant and IShowSpeed talked women, however. The latter tried to give Durant advice on how pick up women. He claimed that the NBA superstar got his heart broken and needed advice on how to get back in the mix. This once again led to a hilarious string of jabs from Durant. “Stop talking to me like I need advice on women, bro,” he stated. “Every time I explain my stance to people they say some sh*t like that. Like ‘damn bro you just been hurt’ but like I enjoy spending time with them it’s just maybe not as long as you like to spend time with people, man.”

Kevin Durant claimed that he only spends a few days at a time with women. He then delivered arguably the most hilarious roast of IShowSpeed in the entire podcast. He denigrated the Twitch streamer for his age, and warned him not to make comparisons. “Bro you’re 16 do not compare yourself to me,” Durant stated. “You have no other resources but your hand please don’t put me in that same tier as you.” That brought the house down in terms of laughter. Durant and IShowSpeed may not be similar, but it’s hard to deny they’re a funny duo.
