Utah Jazz Stop Selling Bizarre Jumpman Shirt After Fan Backlash

The Utah Jazz has confirmed that they will no longer sell a shirt that appeared to show Michael Jordan dunking over the team name. The shirt was part of a minimalistic overhaul of the team identity last season driven by Nike and the Jordan Brand. However, the shirt riled up Jazz fans after its discovery given the painful memories of the two 90s Finals the Malone-Stockton Jazz lost to Jordan’s Bulls. The design can be found leaguewide, with each team having their own variation of the shirt. However, it’s one that unfortunately will get very little love amongst the Jazz faithful.

The Jazz lost back-to-back Finals against Jordan’s Bulls in 1997 and 1998. Jordan averaged 32.3 points per game in 1997 (4-2 Bulls) and 33.5 points per game in 1998 (4-2 Bulls). The two-season stretch also included perhaps Jordan’s most iconic game – Game 5 of the ’97 Finals, aka “The Flu Game”. Jordan put up 38 points despite being visibly ill. In subsequent years, Jordan has floated the idea that he was poisoned by a Jazz-supporting pizzeria the night before. Regardless, it’s a particularly painful stretch of Jazz history that is not best served by a minimalist t-shirt celebrating Jordan.

The upcoming NBA season is a chance for the Jazz to bounce back after a down year in 2022/23. The Jazz finished 37-45 amid something of a roster rebuild, having traded away Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell. This is now Lauri Markkanen’s team. The Jazz have three rookies on the roster after making three picks in the first round of this year’s NBA draft. If everyone takes the developmental steps they need to, the Jazz could be a Play-In team this year.

However, they have the misfortune of being in the Western Conference. That means regular meetings with the defending champion Nuggets and the conference superteams in the Suns and Warriors. Furthermore, teams like the Lakers and Grizzlies will be eager to keep up their forward momentum. Despite fans, have are quietly confident that the team is finally in a place to truly move on from the losses of Gobert and Mitchell.

For those who may not know, the Air Jordan 1 KO is one of the more interesting releases to come from Jordan Brand. Overall, this is actually a pretty old model. It was created years ago as a means to poke fun at the sheer amount of knockoffs the Air Jordan 1 had. Although these kicks were authentic, there were enough changes to make you think this shoe was unofficial. The shoe has definitely caught on over the years, and it has led to some very cool colorways. Ultimately, it is one of those models you cannot go wrong with.

In recent years, Jumpman has brought this silhouette back. We have seen a ton of new offerings, and it seems like they have no plans to slow down. This has subsequently led to all sorts of teasers that are very promising. Consumers have been excited, and they will certainly enjoy this new colorway. Quavo Reveals “Rocket Power” Air Jordan 1 Low

Fans are buzzing with excitement this week as Quavo is going to be releasing his new album Rocket Power on Friday. Overall, this is going to be a huge project for the artist. Of course, it is his second solo body of work. Moreover, it is his first project since the passing of Takeoff. It has been an exceptionally emotional time for him, and he is looking to honor his best friend and family member in the best way possible. The album is shaping up to be great, and we cannot wait to hear it in its entirety.

This past week, Quavo had himself a pop-up shot in Atlanta. The pop-up took place at Good Times Atlanta, and it seemed like a fun time. Additionally, there was a new piece of footwear that was shown off at the event. The sneaker in question is an Air Jordan 1 Low simply called “Rocket Man.” You can see a photo of this shoe below. As you will see, this is a sneaker that represents the album and its aesthetics very well.

Firstly, the upper here is mainly comprised of white leather. Furthermore, we get a little rocket sign near the back heel. Additionally, the inclusion of “Rocket Power” written out in stars is actually very cool. This is a detail that went over some heads, but it looks great here. The show also comes with a little pink card that contains a similar star pattern with the rocket in the middle. All of this comes together quite nicely into a shoe that is for the real Quavo stans out there.

Air Jordan 1 Low Golf “Gamma Blue” Revealed

Overall, the Air Jordan 1 Low Golf has been garnering a bunch of attention as of late. This is definitely a good thing as it means more sneakerheads are getting into golf. Moreover, it can also be argued that more golfers are getting into Air Jordans. Either way, fans are demonstrating that they like these kicks quite a bit. After all, there isn’t anything to dislike here. You are effectively taking an amazing silhouette and adding golf spikes to the bottom. It is truly the best of both worlds.

Throughout the last few years, we have seen a ton of Air Jordan 1 Low Golf colorways. Some of these color schemes have harkened back to the classics. Meanwhile, the other colorways have simply been brand new. This has been a very nice mix, and it has ultimately given consumers an abundance of choices. A black Nike swoosh can be found on the sides and that also has the same blue as an outline. Lastly, we get a white midsole with a blue outsole to finish things off. Overall, this is beautifully done, and we’re sure fans can agree.

Air Jordan 17 Low “University Blue” To Get New Retro

However, the aforementioned model was worn by Michael Jordan during his time with the Washington Wizards. This is some overlooked history, which is fairly understandable. Regardless, this shoe got some truly great colorways, and it’s been itching to receive some retros. Even if fans are not asking for them.

Subsequently, it seems like Jumpman is finally going to give this silhouette a bit of justice. New Air Jordan 17 Low models are reportedly going to come out in 2024. Of course, many of these will simply be retros of sneakers we saw in the past. Among them is the “University Blue” color scheme that was worn by Michael Jordan himself. As many of you already know, Travis Scott is currently in a deal with Jordan Brand. Jumpman is constantly signing new athletes and just yesterday, they announced that Jalen Hurts was joining the company. Hurts has been incredible for the Philadelphia Eagles which makes his signing a great move for both sides. Moreover, Jordan Brand decided to release a commercial yesterday that showcases Hurts’ work ethic. It just so happens this commercial was narrated by Travis.

Air Jordan 6 Low “PSG” Unveiled

One of the more underrated models out there right now is the Air Jordan 6 Low. Overall, this is a great shoe that contains the best parts of the Jordan 6, with all of the best parts of a low-top. Sure, this may not be everyone’s first choice as far as sneakers are concerned. However, it is still a good enough shoe that Jumpman has been pumping out new colorways for it. Additionally, it has even gotten its own golf model, which is pretty cool if you ask us.

With about five months to go in 2023, Jordan Brand is looking to maximize its time. A lot of great releases have been planned over the next few months. There are a whole host of silhouettes that will be represented here. Although, perhaps one of the more interesting is this Air Jordan 6 Low “PSG” collab. Of course, PSG stands for Paris Saint-Germain which is one of the most iconic soccer teams in France. They have been partnered with Jumpman for a while, and they are back for more.

Firstly, this sneaker opens up with a dark grey suede base. Secondly, we get some gorgeous beige overlays that move the neutral motif forward. From there, we get a grey midsole with some white speckles placed throughout. There are hints of orange as well, with an icy blue outsole to bring the whole sneaker together.

Air Jordan 5 “Burgundy” Release Delay Confirmed

One of the best sneakers you can get in terms of 90s Jumpman offerings is the Air Jordan 5. Overall, this is the shoe that really kicked off the 90s for Nike and Michael Jordan. Although it is not the most popular Jordan sneaker out there, it is still widely considered as an iconic offering. It had a huge pop culture showing, and to this day, fans still adore it. There are some cool aesthetics to be found here, and who can forget those shark teeth on the midsole?

Throughout 2023 thus far, there have been quite a few dope Air Jordan 5 offerings. However, it seems like there are still some more left to come out. One of them is the Jordan 5 “Burgundy.” Of course, this is a retro of a colorway that we got back in the mid-2000s. Unfortunately, this model has been hit with some delays. Regardless, it is still on track to be released before the end of the summer, which is good news for sneakerheads.
