Jaden Opens Up About His Struggles With Gaining Weight After A Family Intervention Regarding His Health

Jaden is one of the more eccentric artists of his generation, and sure enough, his career has seen both highs and lows. During a recent episode of his mother Jada Pinkett Smith’s show Red Table Talk, which streams on Facebook Watch, Jaden opened up about his struggles with gaining weight. “I was able to work with the doctors and really get my vitamins and get my supplements and protein shakes,” Jaden said. That’s half of my diet. It’s like a password that I have to find for my body. I’m like, 10 pounds heavier now at this point.”

He added, “I feel like I’m keeping on my weight. I’m able to put on my muscle.” Jaden later said that he feels much better about his health, adding that he’s “came a long way” since his 2019 Coachella set, where he said he was at his skinniest. “Looking back on where I was in 2019, that was a long way from where I was when I Was at Coachella [that year] where I was just like, bones. I thought I was so tight. I was like, ‘I’m swagging on this. Like, I need to take off my shirt right now.’”

In 2019, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith spoke about holding a family intervention due to concerns with Jaden’s weight loss. They explained that it was “because he’s a vegan now, but we realized he wasn’t getting enough protein.” They added, “So he was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn’t getting the nutrients.”

Future Said He’d ‘Rather Hang With Jada’ After Someone Suggested He Connect With Will Smith

It never ends in this Instagram world of flexes, social media subs and text messaging rumors. After fans took Jada Pinkett Smith’s comments on Red Table Talk about the challenges of monogamy and vulnerability out of context, and began implying that she and Will had problems, she cleared the air on Twitter: “Only because I got time today. Stop making up headlines. Watch the @RedTableTalk I did with @GwynethPaltrow for yourselves. Will and I have NEVER had an issue in the bedroom. Thank you❣

But hip-hop’s favorite cad thought the situation still might be a chance to stir the pot. After a fan suggested Will Smith start hanging with Future, the rapper responded that he’d rather hang with Jada.

Instagram Stories

Rumors about infidelity and affairs have swirled around Jada and Will from time to time, including an allegation last summer that Jada and August Alsina had a relationship. The couple actually sat down for Red Table Talk themselves to clear the air, letting fans know that there was a period of separation between the two of them, and the relationship happened at that time. Ultimately, they’ve chosen to remain a couple for over 25 years, something that is incredibly rare in this day and age – especially for celebrities. But Future got his dig in, anyway.

For Tupac’s 50th Birthday, Jada Pinkett Smith Shared A Previously Unreleased Poem By The Rapper

Today (June 16) would have been Tupac Shakur’s 50th birthday. Many are remembering the late rapper on this milestone day, but Jada Pinkett Smith got started early yesterday by sharing a previously unreleased poem that Tupac wrote for her.

Filming the poem, which was titled “Lost Soulz” and written by Tupac on a sheet of lined notebook paper, Pinkett Smith says in a video, “Over the years, ‘Pac wrote me many letters and many poems, and I don’t think this one has ever been published, honestly. He had a song called ‘Lost Souls,’ on the Gang Related soundtrack, but I believe this was the original concept because he wrote this, I believe, when he was at Rikers [Island]. And I was like, I don’t think he would have minded that I share this with you guys.”

She then recited the poem, which reads:

“Some say nothing gold can last forever
And 2 believe this [I] need no proof
I have witnessed all that was pure in me
And be changed by the evil men can do
The innocence possessed by children
Once lived inside my soul
But surviving years with criminal peers
Has turned my warm heart to cold
I used 2 dream and fantasize
But now I’m scared 2 sleep
Petrified, not to live or die
But to awaken and still be me
It is true that nothing gold can last
We will all one day see death
When the purest hearts are torn apart
LOST SOULS are all that’s left
Down on my knees I beg of God
To save me from this fate
Let me live to see what was gold in me
Before it is all too late.”

Also yesterday, fellow Tupac associate Jim Belushi shared a story about trying to get the rapper to cover Frank Sinatra.
