NLE Choppa is clearing the air on recent rumors.
According to TMZ, Choppa’s latest single, “Mo Up Front,” was supposed to play in a commercial accompanying Powerade’s “What 50% More Means” campaign, which heavily featured Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. The commercials was reportedly set to air during the NCAA March Madness.
However, the commercial was reportedly pulled after Morant shared a video of him waving a gun on Instagram live.
Despite the whole ordeal, TMZ is reporting that he and Morant still maintain a close relationship. Today (March 18), Choppa took to his Instagram story to address previous reports that he had lost the deal with Powerade.
According to the Memphis rapper, the commercial was, in fact, not pulled, but actually redone.
“Ja ain’t block a blessing,” Choppa said, “what’s meant to shine will shine. The commercial was recreated and is live now.”
He continued, offering words of support for Morant.
“He’s all good and is still learning,” he said, “he’ll come back better than before.”
Next month, Choppa will release his much-anticipated album, Cottonwood 2, which will feature “Mo Up Front,” “Champions,” and the Rose Royce-sampling “Do It Again.”

Following the Grizzlies player’s gun-flashing incident, though, it seems like both lost their chance at the bag. Of course, it’s beyond NLE’s control, which is unfortunate considering that he’s not a massive commercial star when compared to other ad-frequenting artists. This could’ve really boosted his profile and brand, although he’ll likely have more opportunities like this in the future.
Moreover, TMZ reported the news and heard from sources close to their camps that the ad was part of Ja and Powerade’s “What 50% More Means” campaign. In addition, the ad highlighted March Madness in the NCAA. After the basketball star’s suspension and subsequent investigations, such plans fell through. However, TMZ‘s sources reported that the two are still good friends, have a good rapport, and maintain a relationship. Ja Morant is the biggest story in the NBA right now. Overall, it feels like the discourse around Morant has reached bizarre heights. Firstly, he was accused of threatening teenagers and mall cops, on multiple occasions. Subsequently, he flashed a gun while on Instagram Live which ultimately got him suspended by the league. As you can see in the tweets above, the dates on these IG posts are from just over 10 years ago. They are mostly just a collection of selfies from Ja Morant, who went by the username @soexclusive12_. Additionally, Morant is being roasted for his NSFW captions. In one caption, he writes “I jus wanna f*ck yo bestfriend, for one night only.” These are mostly just song lyrics, however, Twitter users couldn’t help but laugh at a 13-year-old writing all of this stuff. At the end of the day, it really is not a big deal, as kids will be kids.

Overall, you may not like his opinions, but you have to respect his craft all of these years into the game. Cam’ron has been making some serious waves as of late thanks to his brand new sports show called It Is What It Is. Overall, fans have been loving the new show as he never fails to speak his mind. Ja Morant has recently found himself in the hot seat of the NBA after allegations of him punching and allegedly pulling out a gun on a 17-year-old, threatening a mall security guard, and flashing a gun on his Instagram live in a strip club. Last week it was reported that the Grizzlies star was undergoing a counseling program, and yesterday it was announced that he would be suspended for 8 games without pay for his conduct. Shortly after his suspension was announced, Morant sat down with ESPN and Jalen Rose for a candid interview.
When asked about the gun incident in the strip club, Morant said that the gun was not his and he doesn’t condone any type of violence. “The gun wasn’t mine. It’s not who I am. I don’t condone any type of violence, but I’ve taken responsibility for my actions. But in the future, I’m going to show everybody who Ja really is, what I’m about, and change this narrative that everybody got.”
Ja added: “Obviously, he said things I need to be better at, but more of just showing his support towards me. I accepted that, and I also sent my apologies to everybody—to the league, myself, my teammates, my family for putting that negativity towards all of us with a bad decision.”

23-year-old Ja Morant was experiencing one of the most promising years of any point guard in the NBA, with the possibility of the Memphis Grizzlies making the championship a reality. Morant was recently suspended by the Grizzlies for eight games after dodging criminal charges for brandishing a gun on Instagram, which has caused many notables to weigh in on his life on and off the court. Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and Fat Joe are just a few who gave their insight on Morant and his off court antics, but now Harlem World’s Cam and Mase have been added to the conversation.
On his most recent episode of It Is What It Is sports show, the Dipset general and his first rhyme partner, rapper turned pastor Mase, talked about Morant’s uninterrupted string of undesirable incidents, to which Cam attributed his issues to the young PG having what he called “Gary Coleman” syndrome. Cam compared Morant to the late child star because of their shared success at a young age and inability to control their own lives.
