The latest to do so is Memphis’ own Moneybagg Yo, who apparently spoke to the Grizzlies player concerning his gun-toting incident. During an interview on the Complex show 360 With Speedy, he said that Morant still has a lot of growing to do.

“Unfortunately, the situation going on with it right now… he 23, I feel like it’s just a phase,” Moneybagg Yo shared concerning Ja Morant. “He probably don’t even understand. When I was exactly 23, 24… it was like I was just doing stuff and people had to tell me, or I had to bump my head. So I’m grateful to make it out those situations. Cam’ron recently appeared on the It Is What It Is podcast, where he shared his thoughts on strippers from the club Ja Morant flashed a gun at wanting an apology. They further discussed the incident, which saw the athlete brandishing the gun on Instagram Live. Cam’ron stated that people bring guns to strip clubs all the time, claiming that if Lil Durk brought a gun to their club they would have been fine with it. He suggests that the dancers are just hopping on the bandwagon after Morant’s recent controversy.

Jalen Green took to Instagram Live on Wednesday, engaging with followers while driving and listening to NBA YoungBoy. The similarities to Morant’s infamous video were already apparent, but the YoungBoy, intentional or not, sold it for many fans. Morant is a massive YoungBoy fan, and has adopted the lyric “It’s a parade inside my city” as his unofficial motto. “Don’t flash no gun,” one follower said as another added, “Don’t pull a Ja and pull the gun out.”

“Everybody’s commenting, ‘Don’t pull no pistol out,’” Green told another person in the car. “They wildin’, my n***a, man. I don’t got no gun.” Green is one of the young stars on a slowly rebuilding Houston Rockets team. Skipping college for the G League, Green was drafted second overall in 2021. The Rockets currently hold the fourth overall pick in the 2023 draft as they continue to try and return to contention in the NBA. Ja Morant has been involved in quite a bit of controversy as of late. Earlier in the NBA season, he flashed a gun on Instagram live which led to a suspension. However, after vowing to never do it again…he did it again. Overall, it has been a very bad look for Morant. He could be facing a massive suspension, and fans are curious as to what will happen. According to TMZ, these shoes sold out almost immediately. There was very little stock and the price was $110 USD which is extremely affordable. Moreover, with all of the heat around Ja Morant, fans were more interested in these than ever before. If Nike were to terminate their partnership, then these could skyrocket in price. Although it doesn’t seem like that is going to be happening, anytime soon. For now, this partnership appears to be way too lucrative for Nike to just outright abandon.

The strippers present at Shotgun Willie’s gentleman’s club, the location of Ja Morant’s first gun incident, are still awaiting an apology from the star guard.

The New York Post detailed the dancers as “terrorized.”

“I don’t foresee an apology [anytime] soon,” one stripper stated. “He’s a boy.”

She added, “He’s clearly begging for attention and trying to be a baller. He should be banned from all clubs and get his NBA career taken away given our country’s current circumstances on gun violence.”

During Morant’s time at the strip club in March, he flashed a gun and received private dances. In his two-night run at the strip club, Morant is believed to have spent over $50,000 in tips.

A second dancer said, “I just wonder how he’s still on the team.”

After Morant’s first event, Silver issued an eight-game suspension and conversed with the guard. In Tuesday’s (May. 16) interview, Silver revealed more of his conversation at that time. “Frankly, most of our conversation as about how incredibly serious the first incident was of waving a firearm on social media.”
