Nicki Minaj Celebrated Her Late Father’s 65th Birthday With A Touching Post

These past few days have made for one of the more active weekends for Nicki Minaj in recent years. The rapper made her return by adding her mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, to streaming services. The project was re-uploaded with new songs for fans like “Seeing Green” with Drake and Lil Wayne. That song made for the first record in almost three years from the original Young Money trio. Unfortunately, it hasn’t only been high moments for Minaj as this weekend also marked what would’ve been the 65th birthday of her late father, Robert Maraj. It comes three months after he was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident.

Minaj took to Instagram to celebrate her father in a touching post. “Happy Birthday Daddy,” she wrote under an image of her father. “Miss u so much. So much. So so much. Rest in peace. Oh my God.”

The hit-and-run occurred in February as Maraj walked between Roslyn Road and Raff Avenue in Long Island, New York. The vehicle that hit him, which was driven by a 70-year-old man named Charles Polevich, immediately fled the scene. Officers later arrested Polevich after they discovered the car in his garage. As a result, he was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal car accident and tampering with evidence. The latter charge came after officers concluded that Polevich tried to alter the car’s appearance to avoid being arrested.

28-year-old Reese was taken to a nearby hospital in “fair condition.” He said “God is great” later that night in a since-deleted Instagram story post. Two other individuals, ages 20 and 27, were involved in the shooting as well.

The Chicago Tribune reports that “Lil Reese told police that he met the people in the Durango outside of the garage and directed them where to drive so he could buy cannabis from them, the report said. The other people shot gave police little information.”

6ix9ine also posted a story writing “Pray for him. He stole the wrong person car today!”

In another, he wrote “THE 6IX9INE CURSE IS REAL. REST IN PEACE TO ALL THE RAPPERS WHO ARE IN HEAVEN.”

Collin Sexton Ejected For Elbowing Kevin Durant As Nets Clinch 2-Seed

Collin Sexton was ejected from the Brooklyn Nets’ 123-109 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Sunday, after elbowing Kevin Durant in the face. Sexton was given a flagrant 2 by the officials with 6:11 to play in the third quarter.

“Tonight, it was a tough one,” Sexton said after the game. “I didn’t feel like it was a flagrant 2 or whatnot, but they called it, and to end the season like that is kind of tough, especially all your hard work and everything I put into the game and I get ejected in the last one, so it was tough.”

With their win, the Nets clinched the two-seed in the Eastern Conference standings.

Kyrie finished the season as the ninth player to ever record a 50/40/90 season, as he shot 50.6 percent from the field, 40.2 percent from three, and 92.2 percent from the free-throw line over the course of the year.

Prior to the game, Irving admitted that basketball is not his top focus right now.

“I’m not going to lie to you guys, a lot of stuff is going on in this world and basketball is just not the most important thing to me right now,” Irving said per ESPN. “There’s a lot of things going on overseas. All our people are still in bondage across the world, and there’s a lot of dehumanization going on.”

“MTV! ‘You got slimed!'” replied Jost.

She said, “That’s Nickelodeon!”

“Where did you even get this?” the award winner asked.

“Amazon,” answered Jost.

Terrence Howard Sends Cease-&-Desist Letter To Producers Of His New Film

Terrence Howard has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Cinemark, Digital Ignition Entertainment, Argonaut Entertainment Partners, and others for releasing the film, Triumph, in which he stars, without his consent. Howard explains that he only agreed to appear in the film “conditioned upon the satisfaction of material monetary and non-monetary promises made by the producers, which never happened.”

Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte also appears in the movie, which follows a high school wrestler with cerebral palsy. Howard plays Mitte’s coach in the film. Triumph was released in theaters on April 30.

Howard’s letter also threatens action if the companies continue to use the actor’s likeness in further “distribution, advertising, promotion, and/or exhibition of ‘Triumph’ in any manner.”

Digital Ignition Entertainment explained the situation to TMZ: “The producers made this film with a mission to help advance awareness of Cerebral Palsy and to do our part to promote inclusion in film. We couldn’t be more proud of the job our cast and crew did to highlight the remarkable accomplishments of the writer of the film, who has Cerebral Palsy, and the lead actor of the film, RJ Mitte, who is also diagnosed with cerebral palsy.”

Steph Curry Wins Scoring Title As Warriors Clinch 8th Seed In Standings

Following a 46-point performance, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry secured the 2020-21 NBA scoring title. The two-time MVP will finish the season averaging 32 points per game.

“He’s never been better, I can say that,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said of Curry’s performance this year. “He’s been great for a long time, though, so it’s hard to say he’s at his best now because he’s been like this for years. I think what’s different this year is just the supporting cast is different. We’ve got a much younger team; he’s been asked to do a lot more with this group and he’s gone above and beyond what we’ve asked of him.

“Just an incredible season and I’ll just leave it at that: He’s never been better than he is right now.”

Washington Wizards All-Star Bradley Beal finished narrowly behind Curry with 31.3 points per game.

Curry thanked his health as a prime reason he’s been able to play at such a high level:

“I’ve been blessed to be back healthy and be able to just play night in, night out at a high level. And the work that goes into it, it pays off, and it’s something that I really, really rely on, especially at this point in my career. As the years go on, that is the difference-maker for me. Nobody really sees it on a day-to-day (basis), but I’m really proud of what I put into it, and the team — they know who they are — that help me and push me and motivate me. I’m going to keep doing that until I can’t anymore.”

Sunday’s win clinched the eighth seed in the Western Conference for the Warriors.

Keegan-Michael Key Parodies Michael Jordan In “The Last Dance” For “SNL”

Keegan-Michael Key hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time, this weekend, and starred in a The Last Dance parody as Michael Jordan during the show. The sketch pokes fun at the NBA legend’s competitiveness, even when he’s off the court.

In the skit, the cast parodies a viral scene from the documentary which shows Jordan compete in a coin toss bet with bodyguard John Michael Wozniak. In SNL’s version, Jordan takes it to the next level with increasingly ridiculous stakes put on the game.

“If you’re not playing to win, why play?” Key jokes as Jordan.

In his monologue earlier in the night, Key demonstrated his appreciation for the iconic show by fitting “every single SNL thing” into a single opening segment.

“I used to sneak downstairs to watch SNL every week,” he recalled. “If you had told that kid that one day he would be standing here on this stage, he probably would’ve been too busy stealing your wallet to have heard what you said. But I’ve come a long way since then, and I am so honored to be here, and because of that, I am going to make the most of it.”
