Migos Add Five New Songs To “Culture III” For The Deluxe

It hasn’t even been a week since we’ve been blessed with Culture III — the latest studio album from the Migos — but already, they’ve returned with the deluxe edition. The new album closes out the Culture trilogy with features from Drake, Cardi B, Future, Justin Bieber, Youngboy Never Broke Again, and more. Fans have been excited about the new music, celebrating this moment for Atlanta rappers Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff. Culture III has been received very well so far, so it’s only right that they aim for the three-peat by adding even more songs to the tracklist, coming through on Thursday with the deluxe edition.

Packing on five more featureless songs to the album at its tail-end with stunning production from DJ Durel, the Migos continue to prove why they belong on an all-time Mount Rushmore-type list, as far as Atlanta is concerned

Sir Mix-A-Lot Shows Gucci Mane Love Ahead Of Collab

Gucci Mane is on the verge of dropping off his brand new album Ice Daddy, a project that features guest appearances from BigWalkDog, Pooh Shiesty, Sir Mix-A-Lot, BIG30, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz, Young Dolph, E-40, Project Pat, and Peewee Longway. With the project set to land at midnight — his first since Woptober landed in 2019 — Sir Mix-A-Lot actually came through to speak with HipHopDX about connecting with Guwop, Pooh Shiesty, and Mike Will Made-It for “Posse On Bouldercrest.”

With the record set to pay homage to one of Mix-A-Lot’s track — “Posse On Broadway,” originally released in 1988 —  the “Baby Got Back” rapper opened up about how the song came together. “It’s a beautiful thing,” Sir Mix-A-Lot shares with DX. “Gucci Mane is an incredible artist and an ever better businessman. Him doing what he’s done on an indie level and through partnerships with the majors, when applicable, is powerful and young artists should take notes. I truly respect that brotha. Plus Mike Will made it!!”

Though many have come to associate Sir Mix-A-Lot with his enduring ode to rump reverence “Baby Got Back,” an anthem of ass admiration that has somehow infiltrated its way into the cultural consciousness, the rapper’s deeper catalog actually deserves further attention. There’s a reason why Gucci is highlighting “Posse On Broadway” thirty-three years after its initial release. It’s likely that revisiting the classic tune will give fans a decent idea of what can be expected from Gucci’s “Posse On Bouldercrest,” especially if Mike WiLL Made-It’s production retains the original essence.

Check out the original below, and keep an eye out for Guwop’s Ice Daddy, set to land in full frosty glory at the stroke of midnight.

Mariah Carey Shades Eminem On “Obsessed” Anniversary

Mariah Carey is one shady lady. On the twelve-year anniversary of her song “Obsessed,” which many believe was targeted towards rapper Eminem, the pop diva posted a video to TikTok to celebrate the track, seemingly shading her alleged ex-lover in the process.

Eminem and Mariah have had a complicated relationship for over a decade now. They were reportedly dating at one point but they didn’t end up clicking, choosing to be petty on their respective records instead. Eminem has dissed Mariah countless times while the pop star made her feelings clear on “Obsessed,” where she appears to call out Slim Shady for keeping her in his mind rent-free. Filming her own version of the “Wipe It Down” challenge, Mariah took another dig at Em on TikTok, wearing her best Marshall Mathers costume and spilling some tea.

“Just for laughs… from last year’s lockdown when all I did was wipe tings down [sponge emoji] [laughing emoji] #HappyAnniversaryObsessed,” she wrote on Twitter and TikTok. The video shows Carey wearing a mask with curls in her hair before wiping the mirror to reveal her in full glam. When she wipes the mirror a second time, she moves into her Eminem cosplay.

“Now don’t get mad when Em get Shady,” advised one fan in the comments, pointing out that Mariah is equally obsessed with Eminem. “This cute but EM comebacks be too raw, she betta not cry,” added another supporter.

Watch the video below and let us know what you think.

6ix9ine Calls Out Bobby Shmurda Before Dissing Lil Durk, King Von, & More

Tekashi 6ix9ine has stayed on the down-low for much of the last year, attempting to make a comeback with his TattleTales album, which failed to create much attention. In an attempt to keep his name relevant, 6ix9ine has resorted to social media comments to stay in the conversation, often getting disrespectful with his most-targeted rivals. In recent months, the rainbow-haired troll has taken aim at Lil Durk and his entourage, getting straight up vile with rude comments about the late King Von, as well as Durk’s older brother OTF DThang, who passed away from a gunshot wound a few weeks ago. Last night, Tekashi reappeared to come after New York rapper Bobby Shmurda for allegedly signing to Roc Nation.

Posting a video of himself leaving the Roc Nation offices, Bobby Shmurda seemed to hint that he was officially a member of JAY-Z’s illustrious label. Not everyone was pleased to see him at the Roc though– specifically, 6ix9ine took issue with him signing to the label after Bobby took such a serious stand against snitching

“They hate ratting and cooperating with police but SIGN to roc nation (Who’s CEO is a cooperating federal informant for the DEA) but pick and choose,” wrote 6ix9ine in the comments of DJ Akademiks’ post.

6ix9ine is referring to Desiree Perez, one of Roc Nation’s five founders who was appointed CEO in 2019. Perez received a Presidential pardon from Donald Trump last year, but it’s worth noting that she never allegedly cooperated with the DEA. Perez reportedly cooperated with the U.S. Attorney’s Office following drug, firearm, and grand larceny charges. The firearm charged was ultimately dropped. 6ix9ine has taken serious issue with Roc Nation in recent years because of Desiree Perez’ appointment as the CEO.

He added more commentary in a further post, writing:

“People hate it because it comes from me. But it’s cool I’m still untouched it’s been a year since I been home I’ve done shows I been in night clubs I done everything people told me I couldn’t do. So they hate me because I proved the world wrong. I would hate me too. By the way quando untouched too and lil Tim and I remember them saying he lucky he in jail [three laughing emojis.] Fuk Von and we smoking Dthang now.”
