Prado Monroe Shares New Project “PRADO MONROE”

There’s no denying that Canada’s been producing some incredible talent in R&B over the past decade. Artists like The Weeknd, and even Drake and Tory Lanez, have evolved the sound but there’s plenty of other artists emerging from Canada that are pushing the boundaries, as well.

Vancouver singer and rapper Prado has been bubbling up over the past year with songs like “Stephen” and “Gucci Store.” On Friday, she unveiled her debut project in its entirety and it does not disappoint.  PRADA MONROE is a six-song EP that showcases the singer’s charisma, humor, and unique approach to merging the sounds of hip-hop and R&B.

Julian Edelman’s Got Jokes For Tom Brady In Light Of Madden 22 Cover

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are the latest NFL superstars to grace the cover of the EA Sports Madden series, and fans are very excited about it. Madden 22 is set to drop later this year, and the MVP edition will have the last two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks sitting side by side. Brady and Mahomes had both appeared on the cover in the past, however, putting the two together was a move that very few people saw coming.

With Brady gracing the cover, his former teammate Julian Edelman decided to take to poke a little fun at the star by harkening back to Madden 2000, when Brady wasn’t even represented by a name. As you can see in the photo below, Brady had no name or picture, and was simply referred to as “Number 12.”

“You’ve come a long way since “QB N0. 12,”” Edelman said jokingly. Of course, back then, Brady was not the star he is now, and at the time, he wasn’t exactly a highly-touted prospect. Brady was picked in the sixth round and he wasn’t given much of a shot to be a starter. In the end, however, Brady proved people wrong and went on to win seven Super Bowls.

As for Edelman, he has officially retired from the league and isn’t planning on coming back.

Juneteenth Roundup 2021: Find Out How 2 Chainz, Lizzo, & More Are Observing

Today marks the first year Juneteenth will be recognized as a federal holiday. While the celebration, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, has been celebrated for over 400 years, this is the first time it is being observed as a National Holiday. For decades, different activists and congress members had tried and failed to establish the day as a national holiday. Earlier in the week, the Senate finally unanimously passed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, which subsequently established it as a national holiday after President Joe Biden signed the bill.

“I regret that my grandchildren aren’t here, because this is a really, really, really important moment in our history. By making Juneteenth a federal holiday, all Americans can feel the power of this day and learn from our history — and celebrate progress and grapple with the distance we’ve come (and) the distance we have to travel,” Biden said of signing the bill.
Celebrities and teams like 2 Chainz, Diddy, EarthGang, The Lakers, and more have all taken to social media today to share some words about Juneteenth. Keep reading to find out how your faves are honoring Juneteenth. 2 Chainz shared a mural of his son Halo that appeared on Good Morning America to commemorate Juneteenth. “Mural of my son KING HALO , What a pleasant surprise on [Good Morning America] ….I feel like this image will go down in history and represents strength in the young black male, he was actually 3 when we did this,” he shared in the caption.

Diddy reshared a post to his story from the Instagram account of his Revolt publication.

EarthGang teamed up with Revolt and Vice for a special Juneteenth conversation on social justice set to take place at noon today. This post was also reshared by Puff as well.

The official Twitter account of the Los Angeles Lakers also took a moment to recognize Juneteenth. “This Juneteenth, educate and celebrate,” they penned as a caption, attaching two brief fact sheets.

Lizzo celebrated by doing her annual Juneteenth giveaway. She will raffle off two tickets to the Bonaroo Music Festival. All proceeds from the sweepstakes will go towards supporting Black businesses and organizations.

Kerry Washington shared an informative video of herself giving her followers the rundown of what to wear and how to honor Juneteenth. ” Happy Juneteenth!!!!!!! Any other recommendations on how to celebrate Black liberation and excellence? Drop em in the comments,” she wrote in the caption.

Usher shared a photo of himself embracing VP Kamala Harris, adding in the caption, “It’s finally official.. #Juneteenth.”

Janelle Monae shared footage of her Juneteenth party and its guests. She wrote in the caption, Reclaiming joy. Centering joy on purpose. We deserve every ounce. Happy Juneteenth & Happy birthday mama!”

Finally, both Viola Davis and Naomi Campbell shared informational videos on quick facts about the newly crowned federal holiday.

Migos, Vince Staples & Isaiah Rashad Dominate Our “Fire Emoji” Playlist

The summer is here and the bangers are arriving in abundance. In the past month, we’ve received some major projects that are bound to hold down the months ahead. However, things are picking up in terms of rap releases as festivals are announced and the world begins opening up again. And as usual, we’ve highlighted everything you need to hear this week for our Fire Emoji playlist. Here’s your breakdown:

Migos are back in full effect with the release of Culture III. Some were skeptical following the release of Culture II and the overwhelming amount of solo music we received from each member of the group. However, Culture III is a welcome return of hip-hop’s most influential group of the past 10 years. This week’s Fire Emoji playlist includes “Jane” as well as “Avalanche.”

Vince Staples recently announced a new album with his latest single, “LAW OF AVERAGES.” The record is a first taste of what to expect from Vince Staples’ self-titled album due out on July 9th. “LAW OF AVERAGES,” along with the rest of the project, is produced by Kenny Beats.

Another rapper whose album we’re anticipating is Isaiah Rashad. The rapper’s upcoming album The House Is Burning doesn’t have a release date but he did share another single off of the project, “Headshots (4r Da Locals)” on Friday.

Other inclusions on this week’s playlist include Gucci Mane, Polo G, and Goldlink.

Chris Paul’s Status For Game 1 Vs. Clippers Receives An Update

Chris Paul has been one of the best players in the NBA this season and he is a massive reason for why the Phoenix Suns are in the Western Conference Finals. His leadership has brought this team to a whole new level and heading into their series against the Los Angeles Clippers, they are the favorite to go to the NBA Finals. Of course, this is easier said than done, especially when you consider how Paul recently had to enter COVID-19 protocols, putting him at risk to miss Game 1 which goes down on Sunday.

Now, according to Tim Bontemps of ESPN, Paul has been told that he must remain in COVID protocols and that moving forward, he will have to wait for the official go-ahead from the NBA. Simply put, Paul’s status for Game 1 remains unknown, which could be a huge detriment to the Suns.

The Suns boast the talents of stars like Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton although it remains to be seen if they can carry the weight of the team by themselves. Of course, the Clippers are without Kawhi Leonard, which will certainly help even the playing field should Paul have to miss any time.

Stay tuned to HNHH as we will continue to bring you updates related to Paul’s status.

Adult Swim Teases “Rick & Morty” Season 5 With Soulja Boy’s Freestyle

Soulja Boy’s love for Fortnite and Rick and Morty has landed him in a teaser for the season five premiere of the cartoon series. A TikTok was reposted to Adult Swim’s Instagram featuring Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith alongside an animated Soulja Boy as his newly-released “Rick and Morty” freestyle plays in the background. Soulja’s latest song was released after the impromptu freestyle from his Twitch stream went viral.

The Twitch clip of Soulja Boy freestyling while his Fortnite character, Rick Sanchez, dances is as bizarre as it is hilarious. The crossover between Rick and Morty and Fortnite was highly anticipated by both fans who adore the TV series and Fortnite players who wanted to make fun of the unusual collaboration. Soulja boy didn’t seem to mind, though, and his subsequent freestyle landed him a placement for the show’s recent announcement. The caption pokes fun at Soulja Boy’s ‘did it first’ motto. “He and that guy from Fortnite did it first,” it reads.

The fifth season of Rick and Morty finds the show taking a new direction plot-wise as the lead characters mature. Morty is said to have a new breadth of intelligence and capability behind him, as opposed to Rick who now fulfills the more anxious role. Season five will come with the introduction of a new nemesis for the gang, or a recurring nemesis for time-traveling Rick, in the form of watery Mr. Nimbus. The flamboyant take on Marvel’s “Namor the Submariner” is said to cause problems for the two throughout the season or at least through the second story.

Are you tuning in tomorrow night for the premiere? Check out the teaser and the freestyle below:

Lil Baby Purchased An Entire Store Of Sneakers For Families In His Hometown

Lil Baby has often lent a helping hand to his community. The latest example came when the Atlanta native stopped by a Foot Locker store in his hometown to purchase the store’s entire collection of sneakers, planning to give them all away. The act was captured on video and it showed Lil Baby and a number of store employees walking out of the store with several bags of sneakers in hand. After the video made its rounds on social media, the rapper hopped on Instagram to explain his motivations behind the act and reveal other plans for the future.

“Buying shoes ain’t what I mean by saving [my] community or giving back!!” he wrote. “That was some sh*t I did cause I seen a lot of them had on flip flops. When I say save [my] community, I mean centers, programs, jobs. You can’t imagine the sh*t I don’t post…”

The good deed comes weeks after the rapper accompanied the family of the late George Floyd for a trip to The White House, where he spoke with President Joe Biden about passing the George Floyd Police Act bill. Prior to that, he launched The Bigger Picture initiative, which gifted 1,000 coats to residents of Birmingham, Alabama.

Lou From Paradise & Statik Selektah Declare “Not Dead Yet!” On New Project

Lou From Paradise, formerly known as Lou The Human, has been a rising force in the underground since the release of 2017’s Humaniac. Though he’s gone on to release other projects, like 2019’s Painkiller Paradise, the rapper returned with a special treat on Friday in the form of a new collaborative EP. Lou teams up with Statik Selektah for their new joint project, Not Dead Yet! The six-song project has a run-time of a little over 15 minutes. Though short, Lou is still rapping his ass off on every single track. Statik’s production is top-tier, as usual, bringing an influence of horror into his signature soulful production.

Check out the latest body of work from Lou From Paradise and sound off with your thoughts in the comment section.

LeBron James Recalls Fond Memories Of The 2016 NBA Finals

In 2016, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers found themselves with their backs against the wall during the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. They were down 3-1 in the series and they were getting badly outplayed by a Warriors team that had just come off of a 73-9 regular season. Despite this deficit, LeBron led his troops to a massive comeback for the ages that ultimately got him his third championship and the first-ever title for the Cavaliers.

Recently, SLAM magazine tweeted a hoops mixtape that showcases some of the best plays from the seven-game thriller, and LeBron James just so happened to stumble across it. This led to a bit of reminiscing from the Lakers star, who grew up in Ohio and made it his mission to bring his hometown a championship.

“Cant find a better one than this. This is the COLDEST mixtape of all time!!! A season-long of highlights in just 7 games! ELITE players from both sides making insane plays,” LeBron wrote.

Since 2016, LeBron has been able to maintain his high level of play, and just last year, he took the Lakers to the title. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have struggled mightily since LeBron left, and now, they are a fixture at the bottom of the standings.

Either way, 2016 was special and it’s a year that Cavs fans will never forget.
