Trick Daddy Catches Heat For Saying “Beyoncé Can’t Sing,” Disses Jay-Z

A recent conversation has caused a commotion for Trick Daddy. On Monday (June 21) evening, the Florida icon was captured having a discussion with a panel, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s names came up. The pair are, obviously, two of the most respected talents in the music industry, but every now and again there are people who come forward to say that they aren’t fans of the couple.

It’s unclear what happened before the clip was recorded, but it seemed that Trick Daddy Dollars was comparing Bey to another artist. “Beyoncé f*ck with her because she see money,” Trick is heard saying in the clip. “Beyoncé ain’t trying to give back to music or nothin’.”

“Beyoncé don’t write music and barely can sing her motherf*ckin’ self,” he continued. “Beyoncé can’t sang!” Others on the line co-signed Trick Daddy and questioned why so many people think the Destiny’s Child icon has talent. Then, Trick Daddy moved on to criticizing Jay-Z.

“Man, I watched my godmama train Beyoncé, vocal lessons all her career,” Trick continued. “I’mma give an unpopular opinion right now: Beyoncé is to R&B what Jay-Z is to New York. That’s why they together. Jay-Z ain’t never won the greatest rapper alive. Whoever put him on a level like that?” He added that New York needed a hero after Biggie died and so, people handed the title over to Jay.

As expected, reactions to these comments have been a mix of confusion and anger as people far and wide converged onto social media to give Mr. Dollars a talking to. Check out a few reactions below and let us know if you agree with Trick Daddy.

Chris Brown Under Investigation Over Alleged Assault On Woman: Report

These latest accusations don’t look good for Chris Brown. The singer has had his fair share of legal troubles related to domestic violence accusations and twice—with both ex-girlfriends Rihanna and Karrueche Tran—restraining orders have been issued against Brown. His fans continue to support and defend him against accusatory critics who often bring up his past, but Brown has moved forward with his uber-successful music career while enjoying the fruits of his successes.

However, on Monday (June 21), TMZ reported that Chris Brown is currently under investigation due to a woman who claims he assaulted her.

The outlet reported that the alleged physical altercation occurred at his San Fernando Valley home over the weekend. The woman told police that Brown hit her in the back of her head so hard that “her weave came off.” Responding officers filed a battery report where Brown was officially named as the alleged assailant. The woman reportedly didn’t have any visible injuries, aside from the misplaced hairpiece, and no one was arrested.

Last month, authorities were summoned to Brown’s home after his birthday bash reportedly got a little out of control, but that was quickly handled as they broke up the shindig. It’s unclear if this current case will result in a charge, but we’ll all have to wait and see how it unfolds.

Usher Becomes Social Media Pariah Over T-Pain Remarks & Fans Demand An Apology

He’s known as one of the happiest, feel-good artists in the industry who only wants to put a smile on people’s faces, so it came as a shock to T-Pain’s fans when he revealed he fell into a depression because of something Usher said to him. We previously reported on a clip of Netflix’s This is Pop where T-Pain detailed a story that allegedly occurred back in 2013 as he was on a flight to the BET Awards. Usher was also among the guests and the singer shared that a flight attendant woke him up to tell him that Usher wanted to speak to him.

What became of the conversation, said T-Pain, was his fellow hitmaking artist telling him that his use of auto-tune “f*cked up music” for “real singers.” T-Pain then questioned if he really messed up the music industry. “I didn’t understand. Usher was my friend… Did I f*ck up music? And that is the very moment—and I don’t think I realized this for a long time—that’s the very moment that started a four-year depression for me.”

Reactions to this clip were swift, especially from other music industry professionals who came forward on social media to sing T-Pain’s praises. They remarked how talented he is and how he didn’t ruin anything but changed the game. Some people remarked that it seemed odd that Usher would make such a comment to T-Pain only to return with his auto-tune-heavy hit single, “OMG.”

It’s obvious that T-Pain is loved in the industry and fans know that even without auto-tune, the man has pipes. Meanwhile, the public is demanding that Usher issues an apology to T-Pain and he’s being dragged until it happens. Check it out below.

Jordan Peele Trends As His Movies Are Compared To Upcoming “Karen” Film

The new Karen film has the public divided, especially people in the Black community. Days ago, we reported on the news that there was a new film on the horizion, Karen starring Taryn Manning, that was about a racist White woman who goes the extra mile to terrorize her new Black neighbors. The first teaser trailer of the movie was shared that showed Cory Hardrict and Jasmine Burke as a Black couple trying to live their everyday lives while living next door to a woman who has it out for them.

The film is pinned under the thriller-horror genre and after having a few days to absorb what Karen has to offer, the public unleashed on Monday (June 21) evening, drawing comparisons to Jordan Peele’s releases.

Soon, the commentary was pouring in so quickly that Peele became a trending topic on Twitter. People noted that the actor-turned-filmmaker paved the way for major productions of Black horror movies, as he’s given us hits like Us, Get Out, and revamped the Twilight Zone, but the public seemed unimpressed with Karen. They accused the filmmakers of attempting to jump into Peele’s lane without delivering the same quality.

If you haven’t already, you can check out the trailer for Karen below along with several reactions.

City Girls Lament That “Twitter & The Internet World Have Got Out Of Control”

Ever since they stepped onto the music scene, City Girls have been under heavy scrutiny. The Florida natives are best friends who have rose through the ranks in the Rap game over the last few years thanks to the direction of Quality Control Music, but with every release, the criticism is swift. Regardless, the pair use much of the negativity to their advantage, but as time rolls on, it seems as if there’s a new story about them getting into internet spats with strangers every week.

City Girls are the most recent cover feature for i-D magazine and inside, they chatted with the publication about no longer catering to social media users. “Man, lemme tell you something. Put this in the magazine,” said JT. “At this point, I don’t give a f*ck what nobody think. Dead ass.”

“These people gon’ make up what they gon’ make up anyway. They don’t know me,” she added. Recently, JT has gone at it with people online over her relationship with Lil Uzi Vert and battled others who said she didn’t give them enough of a shoutout on social media.

“They damn sure don’t know [Yung Miami]. So, I don’t care what they think. Twitter and the internet world have got out of control. Period. It’s out of control. People gave the internet an inch, and they done took a motherf*cking mile. People doing things for tweets, viral moments, comments. It’s not even genuine hate no more.”

Yung Miami co-signed her bestie’s sentiment. “You could give a million dollars, and they be like, ‘All you donated was a million dollars?'” she said. “You could be a f*cking perfect person in the world, and they still gon’ pick out something about you that they don’t like. At the end of the day, it’s your life. You cannot live to make other people happy.”

Billie Eilish Is “Appalled & Embarrassed” For Using Asian Slur

Days after her boyfriend came forward with an apology over resurfaced racist and homophobic social media posts, Billie Eilish is taking her turn. The 19-year-old Grammy-winning singer is reportedly dating 29-year-old Matthew Vorce and as soon as they went public with their romance, the internet was swift in looking up every detail they could about the actor-writer.

During their digging, clips of Eilish were found, as well, and they showed the young singer allegedly making fun of Asian people and using slurs against their community. Eilish has remained silent on the controversy until Monday (June 21) when she took to her Instagram Story to apologize for her previous behavior.

“I love you guys, and many of you have been asking me to address this. and this is something that i WANT to address because i’m being labeled something that i am not,” said the singer. “There’s a video edit going around of me when i was 13 or 4 where i mouthed a word from a song that at the time i didn’t know was a derogatory term used against members of the asian community.”

She claimed that she’s “appalled and embarrassed and want to barf” because she used the word. “Nothing excuses the fact is that it was hurtful,” Eilish added. “And for that i am sorry.” She also stated that in another portion of the clip where she’s seen speaking “gibberish,” she wasn’t trying to mock any foreign language.

Eilish concluded her message by stating that she hopes to use her platform to “fight for inclusion, kindness, tolerance, equity and equality.” Read through the singer’s explanation below.

Jim Jones Praises Conway The Machine, Still Wants All The Rap Smoke

His “Top 10 Rappers of 2021 (So Far)” list ruffled a few feathers and now Brian “B. Dot” Miller is chopping it up with one artist who was vocal about his placement. Jim Jones took the 10th spot, and while he was grateful for the inclusion, Jones let it be known that he was ready and willing to go toe-to-toe with any of the other artists on the list. Later, Conway The Machine stepped forward with a message of his own that left Hip Hop fans believing he was responding to Jones.

“For me, I’m confused,” said Jones who recalled Miller praising his album as one of the best. “How can I have the best album and then be number ten on the list? I’m just trying to figure this sh*t out.”

Miller said there were “a lot of spitters” on his list and added that there are excellent emcees who don’t necessarily have great albums. Miller then read off Jim Jones’s initial response after seeing the Top Ten list as well as Conway’s reaction about rappers who were salty about their placements.

“Let’s not assume that he responded [to me], let’s assume that he made his own rant because he may have been going through his own thing,” said Jones. “But if he did respond, that would make it even more better because I respect his sportsmanship.” Furthermore, Jones wanted to make sure it was clear that he doesn’t have any personal issues with Conway.

“First of all, let’s put this out there, me and Conway are brothers,” he said. “This is one of the few rappers that I do f*ck with in this industry, wholeheartedly, you dig? I respect his pen, his thoughts, I’m just a fan of his music. But that being said, the competition in this industry is nowhere where it used to be.”

The rapper then detailed the differences between beef and competition, drawing comparisons to basketball and how players go at it in the paint but afterward they pop bottles with one another. “It’s not there anymore because most of these artists take competition as beef or they turn competition into beef because everybody would like to be the baddest and I can understand that.”

Sabrina Peterson Accuses T.I. Of Hiring Grand Hustle Artist To Kill Her For $25K

Her legal face-off with the Harrises continues and Sabrina Peterson is telling her side of the story. Ever since she popped up on Instagram alleging that T.I. held a gun to her head, Peterson has been at the forefront of the scandal that has shaken Hip Hop. It has been reported that dozens of people have accused T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris of all sorts of sexual misconduct and intimidation, and while the famous couple has denied the claims, they remain under heavy scrutiny.

In a recent sit down with Hollywood Unlocked, Peterson shared new details that have shocked the rapper’s fans. “The first victim allegedly had the same gun that was pulled on me, her three children were forced in the closet at gunpoint,” said Peterson. “She described the same gun [from T.I.]. She described the same exact gun. There’s no way that this woman would be able to vividly describe this gun unless she actually seen this very gun.” She added that she didn’t know the woman and she never described the firearm.

“Oh, he put a silver revolver long-nose all chrome gun to my head,” Peterson continued. “If you look at the pictures of the guns they confiscated, that was one of the ones that was on the table. So, for her to vividly say this and for me to have an eight-year-old that’s been victimized and put on front street with lies… That triggered her.”

“When I posted her thing, the DMs started ringing like a telethon. I’m like, this is a lot,” she added. Peterson claimed that once she heard the story about the girl whose husband was allegedly kidnapped, things took a turn. “One of his people that worked for him came to me and told one of his security guards that was also on his record label, maybe like right when I came home from prison, he was laughing… He was like, ‘You know that n*gga tried to pay me to kill you?”

Peterson alleged that the man told her that T.I. tried paying him $25,000 to take her out. She said she asked the man how it was supposed to go down and he told her that he was set to push her off of a building. In the end, the man allegedly added he decided not to go through with it and Peterson claimed she decided to just “brushed it off.”

Chloe Bailey Takes Impressive Nina Simone Cover To GMA

One-half of Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle delivered an impressive rendition of one of Nina Simone’s iconic hits for the Good Morning America concert series on Monday morning, going viral shortly thereafter.

Chloe ambitiously went with “Feeling Good,” a song that has been covered by some of the most highly-regarded singers today, including John Legend and Lauryn Hill.

Her first performance of her cover was during ABC’s special event Juneteenth: Together We Triumph – A ’Soul of a Nation. Critics targeted Chloe after the event, but Nina Simone’s granddaughter quickly came to her defense

After her performance, she told the show, “I have always loved Miss Nina Simone forever…I worked incredibly hard to put it all together. I still have scrapes and bruises from all the rehearsals. I’m just so happy to see that her granddaughter loved it. I’m happy that people loved it as well.”

The cover is available to stream as a part of the Liberated / Music For the Movement Vol. 3 alongside tracks by Cordae, Common, and Lucky Daye.
