Draymond Green Delivers Huge Praise To LaMelo Ball

LaMelo Ball has had an incredible start to his NBA career thus far, and as it stands, the Charlotte Hornets are incredibly fun to watch as a result. Ball is flashy with his passes and throughout the last few weeks, he has improved his jump shot quite a bit. Moving forward, LaMelo has superstar potential written all over him and it won’t be before long that we see him in an All-Star Game.

Recently, Ball’s Hornets defeated the Golden State Warriors and Draymond Green took notice. In an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Green praised Melo and noted that he was skeptical of the young star, at first. Having played against him, however, Green is eager to see what else the Hornets star can do.

“I love his game — he’s extremely smart,” Green said. “He doesn’t even know how to play the NBA game yet. He’s just out there playing; he’s like a little kid in a candy store, just out there playing, having fun. He’s very smart. He passes the ball with the best of them already — I think Charlotte and MJ [Michael Jordan] got this one right.”

Melo has been garnering praise from a wide array of people, including his boss Michael Jordan, who knows a thing or two about being a great basketball player. Needless to say, LaMelo’s career has had a promising start and it seems like things will only get better from here.

Rihanna Targeting Fenty Hair Business With New Trademark

Rihanna seems to be extending her Fenty line after the reveal that her company Roraj Trade LLC filed a new trademark application earlier this month. The new file includes non-medicated hair care preparations, non-medicated dandruff shampoo, hair-styling preparations, hair-straightening preparations, hair-relaxing preparations, hair-waving preparations, non-medicated restoration lotions, hair-bleaching preparations, hair-coloring preparations, and hair glitter, thus hinting at a ‘Fenty Hair’ vertical.

While the report does bring hope, it is not a guarantee that the Fenty Hair brand will happen, until the singer reveals the brand herself. Nonetheless, fans took to Twitter to express their joy in the possibility.

RiRi has previously dropped Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and the lingerie collaboration Savage X Fenty, each to much success.

While some fans were excited by the news, others refuse to let the Fenty expansion distract them from Rihanna’s musical absence.

“Me in 2022 using ms. Fenty’s hair care products with still no music out,” one fan said with a GIF.

“Can’t wait to be around the house in my fenty furnitures, fenty skin on, in my savageXfenty, doing my fenty hair , wearing fentyXpuma, while listening to absolutely NOTHING,” added a user.

Back in January when a fan told Rihanna to drop some new music, she called the comment “sooo 2019, grow up.” However, In December the Bad Gal announced her 2021 New Year’s resolution was to take her music to a new level.

It’s been over five years since Anti dropped, do you think 2021 is the year for R9? Or simply Fenty Hair?

Big Sean’s Iced-Out “Don Life” Chain From Eliantte Is Jaw-Dropping

Rappers are known for sporting some pretty ridiculous chains. From humongous neckpieces that can’t possibly be practical to diamond-studded necklaces that represent an artist’s label affiliations, chains are simply apart of Hip-Hop culture, and every once in a while, a rapper debuts a new chain that’s both creative and visually stunning. The latest Hip-Hop artist to wow fans with a jaw-dropping chain is G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean, who has recently tapped Elliot Eliantte for an iced-out “Don Life” chain.

As seen in the video above, Big Sean‘s latest neckpiece reimagines the neon sign featured on the cover art for Big Sean’s pre-Detroit 2 single “Overtime,” with a vibrant globe pendant attached to a colorful diamond-flooded chain. The pendant also has squiggly, cartoon-style lettering that reads “Don Life” in a circular font, which appears to be social media users’ only critique of Eliantte’s latest work.

Lyrics to the Post Malone-assisted Detroit 2 cut “Wolves” are also engraved on the back of the pendant, which reads in all caps, “LIFE PUT MY BACK AGAINST THE WALL, JUST TO SEE HOW MUCH I’VE GROWN.” The back of the pendant credits the witty bar to Big Sean and reveals that this flashy new chain is in fact a one-of-one piece. Eliantte’s signature is also placed right below the words “Sean Don,” showing fans that the craftsman jeweler is the person responsible for Sean’s iced-out work of art.

Do you think that Big Sean’s “Don Life” chain is a hit or a miss?

Deshaun Watson Receives Mixed Messages From His New Head Coach

Deshaun Watson is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL although, over the last few months, there have been debates concerning who he will play for next. Watson has made it clear that he has no interest in playing for the Houston Texans anymore, although the team doesn’t really know what to do. On one hand, the team wants to convince Watson to stay while on the other, they simply want to rip off the bandaid and get the breakup over with.

Today during a press conference, the team’s new head coach David Culley spoke about the Watson situation and he seemed to get contradictory. In one breath, Culley said he only wants players who are committed to the team, while on the other, he said Watson was the team’s priority at the quarterback position.

In simpler terms, Culley seemingly knows the relationship is over, but he wants to play both sides so it doesn’t seem like there are any hard feelings over the situation. Needless to say, Culley has been put in an impossible position, and the Texans organization is at fault.

There is no telling when Watson will be traded although as it stands, a move appears to be the only course of action. With that said, keep it locked to HNHH for more news from the world of football.

Derek Chauvin Third Degree Murder Charge Reinstated In George Floyd Case

Ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin now faces a third-degree murder charge in the death of George Floyd after a Hennepin County judge reinstated a count of third-degree murder on Thursday. This comes in addition to the charges of second-degree unintentional murder and second-degree manslaughter Chauvin already has against him. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The new charges opened the door to a third potential pathway to a conviction for prosecutors, who began jury selection on Tuesday. CNN commentator Keith Boykin explained the new reason for the new charges in a tweet. “Derek Chauvin will now be tried for felony murder, manslaughter and third-degree murder. Juries often have difficulty convicting police officers of higher offenses. This move helps ensure that Chauvin will be convicted of at least one of the charges,” the tweet read.

If convicted, Chauvin could face up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, up to 25 years for third-degree murder, and up to 10 years for second-degree manslaughter. Since they are all separate charges, he could be convicted of all, some, or none of them.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison explained the magnitude of the case in a brief statement.

“The charge of 3rd-degree murder, in addition to manslaughter and felony murder, reflects the gravity of the allegations against Mr. Chauvin. We look forward to presenting all three charges to the jury,” she said.

Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder when he was initially arrested following the murder of George Floyd. In October however, Hennepin County District Court Judge Peter Cahill dismissed the charges saying the charge did not apply to the case. In February, an appeals court ruling in the case of former Minneapolis Police officer Mohamed Noor helped reinstate the charges against Chauvin, allowing the state to file an appeal of Cahill’s ruling.

Last week, the Minnesota Court of Appeals ordered Judge Cahill to reconsider the motion to reinstate the third-degree murder charge. On Wednesday, the Minnesota Supreme Court refused the request by Chauvin’s attorney to block the appellate court’s decision, clearing the way for Cahill to reinstate the charge.

The Weeknd Is Boycotting The Grammys And Will No Longer Submit His Music For Consideration

The Weeknd has been abundantly clear and forthcoming about his displeasure with the Grammy Awards and the Recording Academy after his critical and commercial hit After Hours and its popular singles somehow earned no nominations for the 2021 awards. Now it looks like anything else The Weeknd makes won’t be up for consideration at future Grammy ceremonies either, but this time, it’s his choice: The Weeknd has declared that he is boycotting the Grammys.

In a statement made to The New York Times, The Weeknd said, “Because of the secret committees, I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys.”

In response to The Weeknd’s statement, interim Recording Academy president/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. told the publication, “We’re all disappointed when anyone is upset. But I will say that we are constantly evolving. And this year, as in past years, we are going to take a hard look at how to improve our awards process, including the nomination review committees.”

In an email interview with the publication, The Weeknd’s manager, Wassim Slaiby, said he was unclear why his client didn’t earn any nominations and noted, “We were many weeks and dozens of calls in with the Grammy team around Abel’s performance right up to the day of nominations being announced. We were scratching our heads in confusion and wanted answers.”

He also said, “The Grammys should handle their legacy and clean it up to raise the bar to a level where everyone could be proud to hold up that award. This is Harvey’s chance to step up and have his legacy be the guy who got the Grammys finally right.”

RX Peso Makes It Rain Cash Performing ‘Up A Hill’ On ‘UPROXX Sessions’

When RX Peso performs his song “Up A Hill” on the latest episode of UPROXX Sessions, he makes sure to make his appearance unforgettable. While it’s not uncommon for performers to bring props — remember Dana Dentata’s elaborate, revenge-theme setup? — Peso posts up with a massive stack of cash, making it rain as he delivers his melodic rhymes.

After dropping a pair of Elevator-approved singles in 2019, Peso picked up his pace in 2021, putting out the 12-song project Drug Storm in January. For now, his operation appears to be fairly self-contained; the only feature on his most recent release is RX Hector, whom Peso shouts out fairly often on his Instagram in posts imploring the authorities to free Hector. Peso has had some high-profile co-signs, however; a pair of Playboi Carti songs leaked in 2019 suggest a connection, and early in his career, Peso was linked to fellow Atlantan Hoodrich Pablo Don.

Watch Peso’s money-hungry performance of “Up A Hill” above.

UPROXX Sessions is Uproxx’s performance show featuring the hottest up-and-coming acts you should keep an eye on. Featuring creative direction from LA promotion collective, Ham On Everything, and taking place on our “bathroom” set designed and painted by Julian Gross, UPROXX Sessions is a showcase of some of our favorite performers, who just might soon be yours, too.
