Jake Paul has been one of the most controversial people in the boxing world over the last couple of years, although he doesn’t seem to mind. After defeating Nate Robinson back in November of 2020, he was able to put himself on the map, and after knocking out Ben Askren, it became clear that he had some real talent to back up his trash talk. On August 29th, Jake will now have to fight Tyron Woodley, who actually poses a threat to Jake’s undefeated record.

While speaking to TMZ recently, Paul noted that he hopes to have LeBron James at his fight, as the two are both from Ohio. The fight will be taking place in Cleveland, and Paul thinks it would mean a lot to the city if the Lakers superstar showed up to the bout.

“I think it’s just really cool that this is sort of an Ohio affair and, not a lot of boxing matches take place in Ohio, let alone Cleveland,” Paul said. “When I was 12, came and saw your games. I paid good money for some front row seats. I was yelling at you from the crowds. And so, I think it’s only right that you pull up and yell, “Jake! Jake! But look, LeBron, this one’s for the city man, pull up.”

It remains to be seen whether or not LeBron will accept such an invitation, especially since LeBron has never really expressed any interest or fandom in what Paul is doing. Regardless, LeBron’s presence at the fight would certainly be a sight to behold, especially with it going down in Cleveland.

Isaiah Thomas has been the talk of the NBA world as of late thanks to an incredibly 81-point performance at a recent pro-am game. Thomas was an absolute beast in that match, and just a few days earlier, he had dropped 65 points in the exact same league. At this point, there is no denying that Thomas deserves a spot in the NBA, even if it’s just as a role player who comes off of the bench.

In the highlights below, you can see Thomas making big plays all over the court while making some players look foolish. It was an impressive showcase of his talents, and afterward, Thomas was emotional considering everything he has been through.

“I wasn’t showing y’all a snippet of me being emotional so y’all can feel sorry 4 me,” Thomas wrote. “Hell no!!! My life is GREAT!! I was showing y’all that to see what it feels like to give everything you have to something you love and to see it slowly coming back where it’s suppose to be TMC.”

Now, it is being reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in Thomas, especially since they need more depth at the point guard position. In fact, LeBron James is taking notice of Thomas’ play and even reached out to him on Twitter, where he told the 32-year-old to keep pushing.

“Yessir Killa!! Keep going my G!” LeBron wrote. Thomas was appreciative of the kind words and made sure to acknowledge them. Needless to say, these two have mutual respect for one another, and it could very well lead to a partnership next season.

Meek Mill is currently enjoying life as a bachelor, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s against welcoming some romance into the equation. He recently made it clear that he doesn’t currently want a relationship in any shape or form, but he is open to dating someone as long as they meet some specific requirements.   

In a recent post to his Instagram story, the Championships rapper laid out his ground rules for dating by resharing a picture that was originally posted by Justin Laboy, who has surprisingly become a media liaison of sorts for Kanye West’s frustrating DONDA rollout. S

“I dont want a relationship with anyone right now!,” Justin Laboy’s original post reads. “But I wanna date, I want a consistent person to talk to, I want you on me but not too much to where you keep asking ‘where I’m at’ and I don’t want you telling me what to do…but I want us to have fun… But I don’t want you talking to anyone else tho.”

Apparently, Meek Mill saw Justin Laboy’s post and related to it on a personal level because he went on to repost it to his Instagram story. Basically confirming that those were the terms and conditions that someone would have to agree to in order to date him, the Dreamchasers rapper consigned Justin Laboy’s post, saying, “Sign here ___________ lol.”

During his time with Duke, everyone remembers the game in which Zion Williamson broke through a pair of Nike PG 2.5s. This moment led to a small ankle injury which Williamson needed to miss some time for. It was a PR nightmare for Nike, especially since they were hoping to sign Zion once he made it to the NBA. For months, Nike had to do some damage control and they also had to change the way they constructed their shoes.

Now, it seems as though the shoe is on the other foot, quite literally. Zion has his very own signature sneaker brand with Nike and his first-ever shoe is the Jordan Zion 1, which is already being worn by NBA prospects at Summer League.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Lakers rookie Chaundee Brown was wearing his Jordan Zion 1s when all of a sudden, he broke right through the toe. There seemed to be material all over the place, although it didn’t phase the player as he continued to play despite the accident. Either way, fans noted that this was, indeed, a Zion shoe, which is definitely ironic given everything that has happened over the past couple of years.

Of course, it is important to note that these athletes are big and strong, so such accidents are bound to happen, at least once in a while.

Well over a year since Swizz Beatz and Timbaland introduced the world to Verzuz, it appears that the hype for the hit-for-hit competition hasn’t died down. Most recently, The LOX and Dipset got the Hip-Hop community thoroughly excited, and it even prompted rejuvenated respect for the legendary New York groups.

Now, it looks like the Hip-Hop community is fiending for another Veruz matchup, so much so that a fake flyer suggesting a head-to-head battle between iconic Chicago rappers Chief Keef and Lil Durk has started to circulate on social media. Check it out below.

The top of the flyer reads, “Verzuz presents a cultural event live from Chiraq,” and the bottom of the flyer reveals that the fan-made event will take place at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, September 14th. Several fans were quick to point out Chief Keef’s still effective performance ban in Chicago, leading many to immediately deduce that the event was fake.  However, that didn’t stop fans on Twitter from getting into a heated debate about who would win if it was ever officially organized.

Megan Thee Stallion loves to flex her skills by releasing new freestyles every so often, sharpening her pen and reminding the world that she’s one of the most skilled women in the rap game right now. Over the last year, fans have been attacking Megan after she publicly accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in the feet. The drama remains unsolved as the city of Los Angeles has an open case against Tory, and Megan is fighting back against her critics in her latest freestyle.

Andre Drummond is now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and he seems pretty excited for the new opportunity despite his previous beef with Joel Embiid. Drummond is a solid big man and when he is at the top of his game, you can be sure he will give you some big numbers. After a disappointing time with the Los Angeles Lakers, there is no doubt he’s motivated to show people exactly what he can do out on the floor.

With the offseason in full swing, Drummond has been chilling at his home where he gets to spend some time with his family, including his two-year-old son. Recently, however, Drummond had to spring into superhero mode as his son had a bit of an accident poolside.

In a clip posted to Twitter, Drummond reveals that his song was sitting on the edge of the pool and eventually jumped in despite not knowing how to swim. The adults near the pool were alarmed, and that’s when Drummond ran from inside his house and jumped in the pool where he was able to rescue his son pretty quickly. This heroic act was caught on a security camera, and Drummond was relieved to have kept his son safe and sound.

“A parents worst nightmare….. Feat my son & I,” Drummond wrote. “No one was harmed in this video.”

Thankfully, Drummond’s son is doing just fine now which is always amazing to see. Perhaps being a lifeguard could be in Drummond’s future career plans post-NBA.

Roblox is one of the most popular video games for kids and some parents, including Cardi B, are speaking out against how expensive the game can get. 

On Wednesday’s episode of Top 5s, rising rapper midwxst spoke about how he initially got into music because of Roblox. While the game can present opportunities for kids and teens to join different communities pertaining to their interests, like cars, design, or music, it’s certainly pretty easy to go overboard on in-game purchases. Cardi B learned that the hard way, apparently, and now she’s complaining that she needs a gift card for her daughter Kulture to use on the game.

Taking to Twitter, the rapper joked that if she ever goes broke, it’s not because of all her Birkin bags… it’s because of Roblox.

“If I ever go broke is not because of jewelry,cars or purses it’s because of Roblox,” laughed Cardi. “Like I need a discount or a gift card for that game cause my kid be running it up.”

In-app purchases can be pretty tricky to control, especially when the game is targeted at children and young people. Maybe it’s time for Cardi to lock Kulture’s ability to buy products in the game, but we doubt she’s bought more than one of Cardi’s purses is worth.

Damian Lillard is one of the best players in the entire NBA, and in the minds of fans everywhere, he needs to go somewhere else if he wants to win a ring. While Lillard has largely carried the Blazers over the years, the roster is simply not strong enough for him to make another deep run. In the offseason, fans were hoping for the team to do something big, although in the end, they did quite the opposite as they only made a handful of signings for players that do nothing except add to the team’s bench presence.

Lillard has stated numerous times that he isn’t requesting a trade and that he needs to evaluate the roster before he makes any big decisions. With Lillard now home from the Olympics, he has all the time in the world to think things through, and now, he is getting philosophical on his Instagram account.

In the photo posted below, Lillard expresses “sometimes, you just have to play the role of a fool to fool the fool who thinks they are fooling you.” It’s certainly a cryptic message to post, especially with all of the speculation going on concerning his current team. The offseason is going to go by fast, and if Lillard doesn’t think fast, he could very well end up stuck in a bad situation.
