Zoey Dollaz Calls Out Silence Of Rappers Who Mention Haitian Culture In Music

Following the earthquake that struck Haiti on August 14, Zoey Dollaz found himself at the forefront of several Haitian-American celebrities using their platform to organize grassroots aid to get to the country, citing the need to avoid major non-governmental organizations in the country such as The American Red Cross.

While making a call for aid, promoting various drop-off locations across South Florida and New York City, the rapper has also shouted out those of his peers who have donated to the cause. They’ve included Drake, who reportedly shot Zoey a DM asking him what was needed, and Quavo.

But, Zoey wasn’t shy about calling out rappers who have remained silent, namely those that Zoey says uses Haitian lingo and culture in their music.

“All these fuck ass rappers that’s always using Zoes this and zoes that in their raps and I got Haitians in Miami this and that using Us to sound cool I don’t see a single post from none of u Fuck boys about Haiti but y’all be ready to use our lingos and act like we yall hittas,” he penned in the tweet.

While he doesn’t name anyone in particular, a few acts come to mind. We won’t speculate.

He went on to add that his criticism isn’t a call for money or aid from these rappers, either, imploring them to use their platofrm for awreness at the very least.

Others who have used their platform to organize aid also include Rich The Kid who also urged fans to donate to the same drop-off locations that Zoey advertised.

The rapper, also of Haitian descent, revealed that he would be heading down to Miami to help with the gathering of materials and supplies in person.

Jake Paul Reveals Why Floyd Mayweather Isn’t On His “Hit List”

Jake Paul is one of the biggest names in boxing right now and while that statement may rub some people the wrong way, it is hard to deny it right now. Paul has been garnering some massive fights as of late and he even has Showtime behind him. In just ten days from now, Paul will get to go up against the likes of Tyron Woodley in a boxing match that will determine whether or not he is good enough to rise up through the ranks.

Over the weekend, Paul had issued out his Post-Woodley hit list which featured a plethora of dope fighters. One of the names excluded on the list was Floyd Mayweather, who Jake’s brother Logan got to fight back in June. Now, in a new interview, Paul is explaining why he has no time for Floyd.

“That’s a good question. He, I think realized with fighting my brother, that we’re not to be messed with,” Paul said per USA Today. “He said he would only fight me if I cut down to 154 pounds, which is physically impossible. And he don’t want that smoke, man. If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. But right now my focus is doing real, professional fights. I’m not trying to do any exhibitions. So if he wants to do a real pro fight at a real weight, I’m down. But I don’t want to do money fights with an old guy. He needs me more than I need him.’’

Paul has been very dismissive of Mayweather as of late, which probably isn’t the best course of action to take. Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters of all time and would prove to be a literal handful for Jake. Regardless, these two clearly don’t like each other, and if someday they change their minds, then we would be in for quite the show.

Joe Budden Teases Return To Rap

Joe Budden might seriously be considering a return to music, telling Benny The Butcher that he wants to hop on a record together in the future.

The podcaster has been retired from rap for a while, and he’s actually stuck to his decision to hang up the microphone. Unlike most rappers who claim they’re retired — like Nicki Minaj and Logic, who both stayed retired for less than a year — Budden hasn’t gotten on a record in years. He might have found a new spark within him though, telling Griselda rapper Benny The Butcher that he wants to get with him in the studio.

“Benny, we gon’ rap together one day,” said Joe on a new episode of his show. “And you not gon’ say that ‘Butcher Coming’ shit when I’m there,” he continued, joking. “We gon’ rap together one day and I gotta get him to tuck that ‘The Butcher is Coming’ away.”

Joe’s co-hosts revealed that Benny has already sent him a beat to hop on, which prompted him to “tuck his tail away,” but he’s not ruling out any future collaborations.

Benny is down to help Joe get back in the game, tweeting, “lol let me pick all the beats for a new @JoeBudden tape and drop it on @BSFRecords would be crazy trust me.” Budden responded with the eyeball emoji, seemingly showing his interest.

When Elliott Wilson reposted the exchange, Joe hopped into the comments to further hint at his return, saying, “I’ll be back outside soon….. KTSE!!!”

Do you think Joe Budden might actually be returning to rap?
