August Alsina on Instagram: “Choose Peace”

August Alsina

The timing is quite peculiar, but August Alsina has a special message on Instagram. The R&B singer shared a selfie with the message of choosing peace.

“choose peace, trusting that life’s intricate puzzle peices are all forming together for the greater good and mastering of the seasonally sometime chaotic nature of your lifes art piece that’s being formed and painted by birthing life to your internal masterpiece, grown through external chaos-metamorphosing alchemy, dark turned 2 light and beauty within, Then turned Master.”

Throughout the fallout of Will Smith’s slap to Chris Rock on the Oscar’s stage, many fans pointed toward no public attack of August Alsina after he outed his “entanglement” with Will’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Will and Jada spoke about the situation in a special episode of Red Table Talk. That table is rumored to be the home of the conversation about Smith’s actions this past Sunday night.

Today In Hip Hop History: Onyx Dropped Their Debut Album ‘Bacdafucup’ 28 Years Ago

Screen Shot 2022 03 30 at 9.15.03 AM

On March 30, 1993, cousins Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz and their partners Sonny Seeza and Big DS put out their debut album, Bacdafucup, on the newly created Rush Associated Labels.

Primarily produced by the group’s founder Jam Master Jay, other production credits include The Afros’ Kool Tee, Chryskillz, and a then young producer named Jeff Harris; Bacdafucup was by far Onyx’s best studio LP, becoming certified platinum by the RIAA in just a little over seven months after its debut.

The album’s sure shot singles include the riot-causing “Throw Ya Gunz,” the horn propelled “Shiftee,” and of course, the mainstream favorite of all, “Slam.”

Onyx made their claim to fame with their trademark “mad face,” bald heads, and all black everything. Many copycats came after these guys, but their mark on the game is definitely unparalleled. Salute to Fredro, Sticky, Seez, and a big RIP to DS.

FPDTfe7WQAggl6q

Despite how anyone feels about The Game, the one thing anyone can’t deny is his talent on the microphone. You can say this about Game, you can say that about Game, but you have to give him credit for his rap skills. He’s proved it this year with his verse on Kanye’s DONDA album. The Compton rapper delivered arguably the verse of 2022 thus far on “Eazy.”

Now he’s back in the booth. The Game is ready to rap, so it’s only right that he linked with a hot hitmaker. Yesterday the Houston-born producer June James took to social media to share a picture of him and The Game in the studio.

The Game has been around Hip-Hop for years and June has been behind tons of beats that helped shape the culture for years. The Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum producer has credit for making beats like “Everyday We Lit” by YFN Lucci. He did “Yosemite” by Travis Scott, and let’s not forget “Put A Date On It” by Yo Gotti and Lil Baby. Those were just a few hits, but he’s made several more.

It’s uncertain if The Game plans to put out a project soon, but what is almost for sure certain June gave him a fire beat. We’ll follow up on what transpires between these two, but for now, you can go listen to Game’s verse on “Eazy” or get familiar with June James by digging up his discography.

A Few of June’s hits are below.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith Reportedly Set to Take Slap Fiasco to ‘Red Table Talk’

red table talk

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are headed back to the Red Table. According to Radar Online, Will has declined invites to Good Morning America and The Today Show to pull up to his wife’s Facebook Watch show.

Will reportedly skipped the line of reporters after his Oscar win and sidestepped the reporters at after-parties. The episode is believed to be the “best platform” for the conversation and will record as early as this week.

Late Monday, Will Smith released an apology to Chris Rock on Instagram following his viral slap against the comedian on Sunday night.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,” Smith wrote. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

He added, “I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress.”

The apology followed one Smith issued during his acceptance speech at the Oscars. That one did not mention Chris Rock.
