Charlamagne Tha God Says Gille & Wallo Are The Highest-Paid Black Podcasters

Podcasting is becoming more of a force within the media industry than ever, and it seems like two renowned hosts are leading the charge. Moreover, Gillie and Wallo recently had Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy of The Breakfast Club on their podcast, Million Dollaz Worth Of Game. At one point in their conversation, the podcasters show the duo a supposed deal that they walked away from. After seeing the details, Charlamagne remarked how Gillie and Wallo are the highest-paid Black podcasters in the game right now. Given their wide outreach, vast knowledge, and that the duo are great conversationalists, it’s not hard to see why.

Furthermore, Gillie and Wallo often spark huge discussion in the hip-hop world with their profound, but sometimes criticized content. After all, the industry rewards ruffling feathers now more than ever. For example, the pair caught flack for letting J. Prince slam Offset during their interview with him. That feud saw a lot of attention online and, despite people’s qualms, they brought it to light in an impactful way through letting Prince speak his mind. Whether that was a beneficial choice in the long run of the culture remains to be seen.

Charlamagne Tha God Gives Props To Gillie & Wallo

Meanwhile, having Charlamange Tha God salute them on the achievement is an achievement in and of itself. Him and The Breakfast Club at large have been key leaders in the media for a long time, and he’s also one to innovate and adapt to the times his work brings about. In fact, the radio host just successfully launched The Black Effect Podcast Festival, which took place last Saturday (April 22). Throughout his vast career and experience, he recognized that such a medium champions conversation, much like radio does as well.

In a statement released by The Black Effect Podcast Network, they stated their mission of bringing “together the most talented and trusted voices in Black culture for critical conversations on social justice, pop culture, and more. In 2023, Black creators are at the forefront of a movement reverberating across today’s cultural landscape, and we’re excited to bring this to life for the community at The Black Effect Podcast Festival in Atlanta this spring. With this festival we want to inspire and uplift new and aspiring podcasters while also showcasing the incredible voices on The Black Effect Podcast Network.” For the latest news on Charlamagne Tha God and Gillie and Wallo, come back to HNHH.

John Krasinski Dubbed The Highest-Paid Actor On TV

A new report from Feb. 27 lists some of the highest-paid television actors. Written by Matthew Belloni of Puck, the article titled “11 Burning Questions About the First Two Months of Hollywood ’23” yields fascinating conclusions. Included in the story is a note about how Euphoria’s Zendaya landed a pay raise from HBO. As the lead actress in the show portraying Rue, Zendaya’s salary per episode now reportedly eclipses $1 million. However, Belloni also reports that she is still not the highest-earning TV actor, as that honor now goes to John Krasinski.

Krasinski, who stars as Jack Ryan in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan reportedly earns around $2 million per episode. The Amazon Prime series just ended its third season on Dec. 21. Beginning in 2018, the show was renewed for a fourth and final season in October 2021. John Krasinski, who most notably has starred as Jim Halpert in The Office, is surely one of the main reasons the series has been able to grow such a passionate fanbase. While Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order: SVU and Ellen Pompeo of Grey’s Anatomy make more per season on their shows, Krasinski makes more per episode, according to Belloni. But, there are still a few actors who come a tad bit close to Krasinski’s salary.

John Krasinski’s Competition

John Krasinksi currently sits atop the mountain when it comes to earnings as a TV actor. But runner-ups like Kevin Costner, Jason Sudeikis, Harrison Ford, and Helen Mirren are no slouches. Costner, who stars in Paramount’s Yellowstone, reportedly makes $1.2 million per episode. In Jason Sudekis’ case, the face of Apple’s Ted Lasso, he too cracked the $1 million figure. This also goes for the aforementioned Ford and Mirren of 1923.

These figures are considered particularly staggering too, considering that TV contracts are typically not as lucrative as they used to be. When speaking with a source regarding the matter, Belloni reported that he was told, “$850,000 is the new $1 million.” So, there’s no telling what Zendaya’s $1 million or Krasinski’s $2 million would translate to in the heyday of cable television. Either way, though, surely none of the actors listed above are losing sleep at night about how much they rake in per episode.
