Sexyy Red & Summer Walker Send Social Media Into A Frenzy Over Cheating In Relationship Advice

Ewwwww, baby, Summer Walker and Sexyy Red have social media going wild over the debut episode of Walker’s new podcast, Over It Radio. The two superstars on Apple Music, with Sexyy Red as her first guest, sparked controversy over their advice on “cheating in a relationship.” when a caller shared her story of betrayal, revealing her boyfriend of nine years had cheated twice — once in their apartment and once with her “best friend.” Despite the heartbreak, the caller admitted she was still holding out hope he could be husband material. Summer Walker didn’t mince words, making it clear she wasn’t one to turn to for advice, saying bluntly, “She doesn’t need to be asking us.”

Sexyy Red, however, doubled down with a surprising take, advising the caller to stick it out. “Ns be cheating. Nine years, and he only cheated twice? Girl, take that man back. It’s okay! A na gonna cheat, they gonna do that,” she said unapologetically. Walker added her own mixed commentary, suggesting that while people shouldn’t tolerate infidelity, two instances of cheating “literally [aren’t] that much.” Yet she acknowledged the need for self-respect, encouraging listeners to demand better while admitting, “We can’t sound like this.” Red, however, stood firm, claiming infidelity is inevitable and implying the caller’s next partner might not be any better.

Sexyy Red & Summer Walker Had Social Media Going Wild Over Advising How To Cheat In A Relationship

Social media erupted with reactions to the duo’s unconventional advice. Fans dissected both superstars’ advice and criticized the caller. “9 years????? YOU’LL NEVER BE HIS WIFE!!!!!” wrote one Instagram user. Another chimed in, “He didn’t cheat twice; you only caught him twice.” Others mocked the absurdity of the advice hotline, with one user quipping, “I love them both, but I don’t want the number to their advice hotline.” “Please don’t take dating advice from people who don’t even respect themselves,” one user wrote. Another scathingly added, “The blind leading the blind.”

The six-episode series supports Walker’s upcoming album, Finally Over It. In October, she teased the album with a voicemail from her ex-boyfriend and Starz BMF actor, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. The couple ended their brief on-and-off again relationship in August 2023. Lil Meech would be accused of cheating on Walker during the relationship after a viral video of him entering an unknown woman’s apartment surfaced. Finally, Over It, Walker’s third album, is coming soon.

After receiving acclaim for the newly-minted Billboard Hot 100 single “Heart Of A Woman,” GRAMMY-nominated R&B superstar Summer Walker (LVRN/Interscope Records) gifts fans an alternative version of the popular song titled “Heart of a Woman (Quiet Storm). The latest version features radio legend Doc Wynter, returning to the mic to deliver his signature drops, breathing more life into the already supple R&B record. The first version, “Heart Of A Woman – but you’re crying in the rain,” features a stormy backdrop behind Summer’s vocals, while “Heart Of A Woman – but you’re drinking wine by the fire” includes the sound of a crackling fireplace.

Slated to appear on her upcoming album Finally Over It, “Heart of a Woman” speaks to the frustration and angst Summer is dealing with in her relationship. Despite the constant back and forth with her beau, Summer’s heart refuses to relent, singing: “Wanna give up on you but damn I know I can’t / I put the blame on me for giving you chance after chance.” The lyric video reflects Summer’s piercing lyrics as Love Island USA’s Season 6 winners and couple Serena Page and Kordell Beckham showcase the ups and downs of their relationship and how deep their burning love is.

Summer isn’t a stranger when releasing alternative versions of her hit records. In 2022, she revamped her mixtape opus Last Day of Summer and released Last Day of Summer (Sped Up). The newer version arrived after the TikTok success of “Karma,” which saw spikes in streams after fans sped up the older rendition at the start of the year. “Karma (Sped Up Version)” peaked at 4.1 million global weekly streams and reached gold status that summer.

Summer Walker, in one way or another, is “over it,” and has been for a few years now. It started with her 2019 debut album Over It, then continued with its follow-up, 2021’s Still Over It. Earlier this month, Walker revealed the next part of the Over It saga is coming.

She teased the project last week by revealing the album has a three-word title, following the Still Over It formula with a word before “Over It.”

Today (October 11), she made the big reveal on Instagram: The album is called Finally Over It. There’s no announced release date yet, but we do have a new single, “Heart Of A Woman,” on the way (at a date that has also yet to be revealed).

Walker’s teaser video shows Walker in her bedroom, listening to voicemails on her phone. One message from a mystery man says, “Damn, you gotta do me like that? I was just helping my cousin with groceries. Hit me back when you can talk. I know you’re finally over it, but damn, let’s talk about it, I love you.” Walker eventually is overtaken by emotion as she smashes the drink she’s holding.

The post also shares a phone number: “call me before I change my number 4044766404 & presave Heart of A Woman now!”
