Lizzo Flexes Her 2023 Tour Stats In Spite Of Ongoing Controversy

If there was one story most music fans remember from Lizzo in 2023, it’s the controversial lawsuit filed against her by her former dancers. Fans were shocked last year to find that backup dancers who had worked with the popstar had filed a lawsuit against her and another one of her creative collaborators. The lawsuit leveled some pretty serious allegations of workplace misconduct which even included accusations of sexual abuse. While she was quiet for a while, the “About Damn Time Singer” has begun to return to both public events and social media.

But one particular social media post is dividing her fans. Lizzo has never been a stranger to flexing her accomplishments, though it’s normally in an attempt to motivate her fans. But in a new Instagram post, she flexes the impressive touring numbers she achieved in 2023 despite the controversy. “2024: $85,000,000 tour gross, 883,500 tickets sold, 68 dates, 14 countries, 3 continents. IM REALLY THAT GWORL” the caption of her new post reads. It’s attached to a trio of recent pictures and videos of the pop superstar. Lizzo’s Massive Touring Numbers

In the comments there are plenty of fans uncomfortable with her flexing. “I mean, congratulations but Jesus,” one of the top comments on the post reads. And they aren’t alone. “This is so out of touch and tone deaf” and “Taylor and Beyonce don’t have to brag about their income. Please don’t be that girl. Be humble” two other comments read.

Lizzo hasn’t released much new material recently and much of the news surrounding her has been lawsuit developments. Last month she asked the court to seal the documents related to her sexual harassment lawsuit. News on the various suits filed against her has slowed in the weeks since. The Weeknd Breaks Major European Tour Record

The Weeknd’s “After Hours Till Dawn” tour has been raging on since early last year. He’s completed both and North American and European legs of the tour and is currently making stops in Latin America. He’s set to conclude 2023 by playing a series of dates on a new Oceanic leg of the tour. The singer achieved a number of major milestones along the way, particularly in the European leg. He’s broken various records for attendance and revenue gained at particular stops, highlighted by his breaking the attendance record for London Stadium by drawing over 80,000 spectators.

Now he’s pulled off an even more impressive accomplishment. With the European leg of his tour in the books his total gross was tallied up. When all was said and done he broke the record for the highest-grossing tour by a black artist in the continent’s history. He brought in $158.1 million across 30 shows with over 1.6 million tickets being sold. With many focusing on major tours this year from Taylor Swift, Beyonce, and Drake, it’s worth remembering just how much of a commercial force The Weeknd is. The Weeknd’s Massively Successful European Tour

The Weeknd is also making a major economic impact almost anywhere he goes on tour. Last month he performed in Colombia and a newspaper there shared an assessment of the show’s effect on the local economy. That included over 1500 jobs which they called “a considerable movement” for the economy there.

Earlier this week The Weeknd teased that he was doing his final feature ever this year. That turned out to be alongside Diddy, 21 Savage, and French Montana. Pleasure P is known for his often hilarious persona, whether it’s before Verzuz battles or just his presence as a figure in the R&B world. Moreover, the Pretty Ricky vocalist just shared a pretty gross and far too detailed story with The Cali Kickback podcast recently that disgusted people who found it on the Internet. It concerns a used condom, and that’s about everything worth spoiling about it, because it’s quite bizarre to hear for yourself. Of course, this is far from a rarity in artist interviews and makes for some pretty funny moments. Still, maybe there’s a way to be just a little bit less overtly nasty when talking about it.

“I was having sex with a girl,” Pleasure P started his story off, and his compatriots had no idea what to expect. To be fair, they were talking about wild intercourse stories, so at least the Miami singer was on-topic and not completely unprompted. “She came to the crib, she was smelling really good. Everything was cool. We were actually hanging out at this spot before she came back to the crib. So she said, ‘I’m gonna go home and freshen up and I’m gonna come to your crib.’

Pleasure P On The Cali Kickback

“I [had] been living here in L.A. at the time and she comes to my crib,” Pleasure P continued. “Then we started kissing and we doing it. So I get my condom, I put it on and I’m going. We’re going, having sex. Okay cool. And the TV is on, so then it goes black for a second- you know, like when they’re changing over to something else. Then the light comes on and I look down and I seen the condom. So I’m thinking that my condom came off. I grab the condom to put it back on and I felt my condom was still on. So I was like, ‘Yo, what the f**k?’

“The condom had been stuck inside of her and the first thing I thought about was how long it had been stuck there,” he concluded. “Yeah, it was disgusting. It was cr*zy. She was just like, ‘Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! My ex- when I went home, he was there. He was trying to have sex with me and I told him no.’ I didn’t even care at that point.” Furthermore, he ended up kicking her out.
