Ayesha Curry Wipes Away Tears After Tense Exchange With French Police

Ayesha Curry, the wife of NBA legend Stephen Curry, was involved in a tense confrontation with Paris police. In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) by The Hollywood Fix, Ayesha appears to wipe away tears while attempting to return to her car on August 10. The altercation appears to have occurred after Team USA’s win against France in the men’s basketball final at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

With her six-month-old son Caius strapped to her chest, Ayesha Curry is on camera speaking with police officers for several minutes. She’s there alongside Stephen’s mother, Sonya Curry and Draymond Green, Steph’s longtime Warriors teammate. In the video, Green can be heard asking the police, “So even after he hit the baby in the head, there’s still nothing you all can do to get them out of here?” It is not entirely clear what Green is referring to. However, it suggests that someone hit Caius during the exchange.

Ayesha Curry Has Tense Exchange With French Police In Paris

French president Emmanuel Macron reportedly left the game at the same time. This led to gridlock traffic, as Macron’s extensive security detail (composed of over 70 people) escorted him out of the area. This also made it difficult for others to leave. The difficulty contributed to the confrontation between the Ayesha Curry, Sonya Curry, Draymond Green, and the Paris police.

The confrontation was a brief low point during what was otherwise an extreme high for the Curry family. In his first and potentially only Olympic run, Stephen played the hero. In Team USA’s semi-final game against Serbia, he scored a game-high 36 points. He was two points shy of breaking Carmelo Anthony’s single-game scoring record for points scored by an American in Olympic competition. During the gold medal game against France, his performance in the fourth quarter saved the team from defeat. He delivered four 3-pointers in the final three minutes of an excellent game. Those timely baskets ensured that Team USA left Paris with their fifth straight Olympic gold medal in men’s basketball. The conflict between Ayesha Curry and the police was resolved without further incident.

Pharrell Enters His Diplomatic Era By Discussing Internet Safety With France’s President Emmanuel Macron

Pharrell is in his diplomatic era. Recently, he met with France’s president Emmanuel Macron at Élysée Palace to discuss cultural issues, including internet safety for kids. The two posed side-by-side in snappy suits in an extravagant room in the Palace.

“A safe place for all, secure and open, peaceful and democratic, which respects human rights,” Macron tweeted. “That’s what the Internet must be and remain, especially for our children. It’s one of our battles. Artists, join us, and speak out! Thank you @Pharrell for your commitment.”

Pharrell replied to Macron’s post with a prayer hand emoji.

According to RTL (which Billboard translated), a spokesperson for Macron shared that the two “got on really well. Pharrell Williams is very involved in the issues of the harmful effects of the internet and [smart] telephones on young people… It’s good because he [Pharrell] really reaches a big audience and he is very fine in his analysis.”

Tonight, Pharrell is reportedly set to appear at the Yellow Pieces gala — which benefits the Hospital Foundation, a charity guided by France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron. Blackpink and other French musicians are performing at the event.

In the past, Brigitte Macron has been an advocate against cyberbullying, a cause that her husband and Pharrell clearly support as well.
