Lil Tjay Thinks Him & Kanye West Should Collab On “VULTURES,” Talks Avoiding Cancel Culture

“You only canceled if you cancel yourself if you allow them to cancel you.” Those were the words of New York rapper and singer Lil Tjay. According to AllHipHop, TMZ caught him at the airport to talk about Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s controversial album VULTURES 1. Outside of the quality of the music and its rollout, the main reason why this LP is receiving backlash is because of its creator. It makes sense, especially because of Ye’s comments about antisemitism and his questionable actions online with his wife Bianca Censori. Music listeners have been at war over whether this album is good or not. But, Lil Tjay sees VULTURES as a huge success.

Tjay went on to talk about how cancel culture is more so about what each individual feels. “I feel like n****s can’t cancel me, n****s can’t cancel nobody—all they can do is block you out of they world, and they world is limited to what they do.” That ability to block out the noise allowed Kanye and Ty to nonchalantly go number one. On top of that, they did it without a major label as well, being exclusively released through YZY.

Lil Tjay Praises Kanye

That is another reason why Lil Tjay feels VULTURES did so well. Even with the lack of label support, the fans did enough to run up the streams and sales. Tjay said, “I think that label s*** help. I think if he had some support he probably would’ve did triple the numbers.” All that respect for Ye even led him to end the interview with a request to be added to VULTURES. “So Kanye, put me on that s*** though.” he certainly put the message out a huge platform, so there is good chance this could happen.

What are your thoughts on Lil Tjay’s message to Kanye West, asking to be on VULTURES? Do you think they would sound good on a track together, why or why not? Do you agree with Tjay’s take on cancel culture, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Metro Boomin Reveals Desire To Work With Jay-Z And Others

Metro Boomin might have the most decorated career of any rap producer ever. 2016 is when the empire began to build its foundation. The first project that got things started for Young Metro was the brief and dark collaboration project with him and 21 Savage. Savage Mode set the tone for the rest of the rapper’s career for the type of lane he was going to operate in. Additionally, though, for Metro, it displayed that he can create an interesting listen with him behind the scenes from front to back. In 2017, he rattled off three projects. One with NAV, Offset and 21, and Big Sean at the end of that year.

2018 saw his sophomore album drop, NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES. This project expanded and diversified his soundscapes further than they had ever been before. Metro and 21 put out their fiery sequel to Savage Mode, and then, late 2022 and early 2023 came around. HEROES & VILLAINS and his soundtrack for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are his biggest projects yet. This truly solidified him as a legend and possibly the greatest trap producer of all time. All of these albums have led him to work with some incredible talents like Future, Young Thug, Travis Scott, and more. However, there is one that he needs to get in the studio with as soon as possible.

He recently was the cover artist for the latest Billboard magazine issue and he sat down with them to discuss a whole bunch of things. One nugget that AllHipHop uncovered was Boomin’s urge to work with arguably the greatest MC ever. He also lists off some other names from other genres. “I still really want to do something with Justin Timberlake. “I need to work with Miguel.” But, the biggest name of them all was Hov. Metro said, “I still haven’t worked with Jay-Z.” While Jay does not usually rap over more contemporary sounds, it is hard to deny how incredible this could possibly sound.

What are your initial thoughts on Metro Boomin’s interview with Billboard saying he wants to work with Jay-Z and more? Do you think this will ever happen? Would it be the greatest rap track of all time? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. Killer Mike Shares Surprising Revelation About JAY-Z’s “Poppin’ Tags” Collaboration

Killer Mike says that his verse on JAY-Z’s “Poppin’ Tags” was originally directly after HOV’s, but someone moved it back in the song because he was “rapping his ass off.” He recalled the making of the track during a recent interview with Idea Generation.

“I remember somebody tried to insult me like, ‘The only reason you got a Grammy is you’re on a song with OutKast,” he recalled, in reference to the 2001 song, “The Whole World.” “I said, ‘I had the wickedest verse on that muthafucka.’ ‘Cause what you not gon’ do is not tell me I’m a bad-ass motherfuckin’ rapper. You go listen to ‘Poppin’ Tags.’ I originally was directly behind JAY-Z. Somebody chopped it and pushed my ass down one more. Said, ‘Let’s get Twista in between this.’ ‘Cause I was rapping my ass off.”

Mike then pointed to Black Thought’s “Good Morning,” with himself and Pusha T. “Go listen to ‘Good Morning’ with Pusha T and Black Thought,” he added. “Rapped my ass off, and somebody changed their verse and I ain’t gon’ tell you who. When it come to humility, time we get on that track, that shit is out the door.” Check out Mike’s full comments below.

Mike also discussed working with JAY-Z during a recent appearance on an episode of Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast. He recalled the legendary rapper’s reaction to his new album, Michael. “I be tripping out now when I wake up, get up, moving around and see a text from him just out of nowhere,” he said. “Like, ‘Peace God. I see what you did. Just sending some encouragement your way.’ He’s still a very grounded, cool human being. I appreciate all the love and encouragement.” Mike continued: “As I was making the record, we sent it to him early and he sent back some real positive notes. He sent back a great compliment. He was like, ‘It feels like I went to my cousin’s house and watched a movie.’ I was really honored, I think it was about a year ago he sent that comment. And we delivered.”
