Ben Simmons has not had a very good season with the Brooklyn Nets. Ever since being traded to the team, Simmons has had excuse after excuse. Overall, Nets fans are already growing tired of him. Furthermore, his bad play has only been exacerbated by the fact that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant have been embroiled in some drama. Moreover, even head coach Jacque Vaughn seems to be annoyed by him, which doesn’t bode well for his future with the team. If one thing is for certain, Simmons has a whole lot of work to do, moving forward.

As many fans already know, Kyrie Irving was traded from the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday night. Moreover, Kevin Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns just a few hours ago. This ultimately makes the Nets a gutted team with just a few players left. One of those players is none other than Ben Simmons. When he was in Philadelphia, Simmons was a player who could carry by himself. Although, this is no longer the case and as you can imagine, the jokes are already starting to fly on social media.

All throughout the night and the early morning, Ben Simmons has been a trending topic on Twitter. Most of the jokes involve him not being particularly good at leading a team all by himself. Overall, these jokes are extremely humorous, and there is this sense that Simmons is going to implode if things continue down this trajectory. At this point, he has become a very easy target, and with KD and Kyrie off the team, this has become even more true.

Of course, today is the trade deadline which means there is a chance that Simmons could be sent somewhere else entirely. Kyrie Irving Gets Brutally Honest About Kevin Durant Trade

Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets didn’t exactly have the most productive relationship. During their time together, it was clear that they had all sorts of disagreements on how things should be done. In the end, Irving ended up demanding a trade. Subsequently, he was sent to none other than the Dallas Mavericks. Overall, this was a great move for the Mavericks, who now have an otherworldly backcourt that includes both Kyrie and Luka Doncic.

Following this trade, the Brooklyn Nets sat down with Kevin Durant. Of course, without Kyrie on the team, Durant had very few reasons to want to stay in Brooklyn. However, for the most part, the Nets were making it clear that a KD trade was off of the table. In the end, the Nets went back on these words and ultimately sent KD to the Phoenix Suns. The Nets then got back a haul of Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, and Jae Crowder. Based on his answer, you can tell that he did not care much for the Nets organization, at all. “I’m just glad he got out of there,” Kyrie said. Moreover, he noted that he never felt like KD was mad at him for all of his decisions. Needless to say, these two are still good friends, and that will likely never change. Kevin Durant Traded To The Suns: Full Details

Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the entire NBA. Back in 2019, he joined forces with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn. Overall, this turned out to be a suspect decision as the Nets never had any real sustained success. They were never able to get past the second round of the playoffs, and there was always some sort of drama. Subsequently, Kyrie Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks over the weekend. This just added fuel to the fire and made everything infinitely worse. It felt like there was truly no hope for the Nets and it led to conversations between KD and the team’s front office.

Either way, this is a huge move for both sides, and this definitely makes the Suns the new favorites to win the Western Conference and even the NBA title.

SOURCE SPORTS: Kevin Durant Traded Overnight in Blockbuster Deal with Phoenix Suns

The Kevin Durant era in Brooklyn is over. The Phoenix Suns have added Durant to their core of Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Ayton in a blockbuster trade.

According to ESPN, Durant, and T.J. Warren were traded for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, and four unprotected future first-round picks. The draft picks will be for 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029. The Suns also have an option for a 2028 pick swap.

The trade follows a teardown for the Nets, who just a week ago also had Kyrie Irving and were considered a contender to emerge from the East.

ESPN notes Durant and his business manager, Rich Kleiman, let the Nets front office know that the Phoenix deal was still their preference. For the Nets, acquiring Bridges was a requirement in the agreement.

New York City mayor Eric Adams has jokes. Before Kyrie Irving was moved to the Dallas Mavericks, Spectrum News NY1’s Pat Kiernan asked the mayor what he would do about the Brooklyn Nets’ situation. Mayor Adams’s plan was to sabotage another team with his presence.

“I will find the team that beats us the most and send him to that team, because then we’ll start beating that team,” Adams said. “It’s about synergy in energy. No matter how much talent you have, your ability to interact with your colleagues is more important.”

He added, “One player can bring down the synergy of the team. And so I would send him to the team that beats us the most so we can start winning better.”

Days after requesting a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving officially became a member of the Dallas Mavericks.

After unsuccessfully negotiating a contract extension, Irving informed the franchise he would like to be moved by the Feb. 9 deadline or risk him leaving for nothing in free agency.

According to The Athletic, Irving was offered a contract extension with stipulations, but that was declined. “Principle differences” emerged after Irving declined the deal.

In return for Irving, the Nets will receive Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round and multiple second-round picks.

Kevin Durant Meets With Nets Following Kyrie Trade

Kevin Durant has had a very interesting time with the Brooklyn Nets. Overall, he has played incredible basketball with the team. However, thanks to the drama surrounding the team, there has yet to be any real sustained success. One could point to countless injuries and a ton of blockbuster trades that have mostly gone sour. More recently, Kyrie Irving decided to demand a trade from the Nets. Subsequently, he was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks, where he will look to change the narrative about himself.

As for KD, well, he has been left all alone with the likes of Ben Simmons. Sure, he may have some new teammates to work with, however, his superstar point guard is officially gone. Now, his whole reason for being in Brooklyn in the first place has left. Considering the fact that KD demanded a trade back in the summer, one could assume he would do this all over again. Overall, it would be absolutely disastrous to the Nets franchise. Regardless, they did a bad job of managing assets, and now, it could set them back for the next decade.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Kevin Durant has officially begun meetings with the Brooklyn Nets. Mostly, it seems like these meetings are to discuss the future of the team. Additionally, there is no sense that a trade is going to be made, anytime soon. However, that could certainly change if Durant is not happy with what he’s hearing. After all, there are a ton of teams out there who are eager to potentially get him. These teams include the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks, and even the Boston Celtics. Kyrie Irving Roasted By NYC Mayor Eric Adams

Kyrie Irving will no longer be a member of the Brooklyn Nets moving forward. On Sunday, Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a blockbuster move that will shake up the league. Overall, this move is something the Nets were forced into as Kyrie decided to request a trade. Of course, the team had little to no interest in fighting him, so they just made a deal as quickly as possible. Subsequently, they could be at risk of losing Kevin Durant, who won’t put with mediocrity for long.

During a recent interview on Spectrum News in New York, Adams got very honest about his thoughts toward Kyrie. Simply put, he believes the NBA superstar was not good for the Nets locker room. Consequently, he thinks that the trade was good for the team, moving forward. “I will find the team that beats us the most and send him to that team, because then we’ll start beating that team,” Adams said Monday. “It’s about synergy in energy. And so I would send him to the team that beats us the most so we can start winning better.”

Overall, these are some pretty harsh comments. However, it is clear that many New Yorkers feel this way right now. Ben Simmons Reportedly Has No Value Right Now

Ben Simmons has been having a very difficult time with the Brooklyn Nets. Of course, he had his fair share of issues when it came to the Philadelphia 76ers. Subsequently, this led to a blockbuster trade including James Harden. So far, the Sixers have won that deal as Simmons has done close to nothing with Brooklyn. Overall, his offensive game is almost non-existent, and the team isn’t getting what they bargained for. On Thursday, teams throughout the NBA will be scrambling to improve their teams. This is because it is the trade deadline. For many NBA fans, this is the best day of the regular season. Some big trades get made, and consequently, there is plenty to talk about. Although, for a team like the Nets, the trade deadline could be a make-or-break moment for them. Kevin Durant Rumored To Be On This Team’s Radar

Kevin Durant signed with the Brooklyn Nets during the summer of 2019. As everyone already knows, he was injured at the time and missed his first full season with the team. However, he was able to come back in 2020 in the Fall, and he immediately went back to his old self. Although there were some growing pains, he and Kyrie had some amazing chemistry. Consequently, Smith seems to have sources telling him that KD could very well be with a rival team by the end of the week. The team in question just so happens to be the Boston Celtics. This is a rumor that was prevalent in the summer when KD had a trade request of his own. Although, some don’t believe this could ever happen. That said, Smith believes it would take Jaylen Brown in order to get any potential deal done.

It feels unlikely that the Nets would ever give up KD to the Celtics. Not to mention, the Celtics have the best duo in the league with Jayson Tatum and Brown. According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Clippers had an interesting package for the Nets. This included Luke Kennard, Terance Mann, a first-round pick, and two more second-round pick swaps. While this is a very solid offer, the Nets simply preferred what the Mavericks were giving up. For the Clippers, this was a deal that made sense given the fact that John Wall hasn’t been the point guard they were hoping him to be.
