Ray J Shares Public Apology To Charlamagne For Attacking Him

Ray J’s been making rounds in the news cycles as of late, as he continues to accuse Kris Jenner and the Kardashian-Jenner clan of leaking his sex tape with Kim Kardashian. It all started from a lie detector test that Kris took where she allegedly did not lie when she said she wasn’t responsible for the leak, and Ray J’s looking for smoke online by claiming it was a fake. On a recent appearance on Hell Of A Week With Charlamagne The God, however, the radio personality suggested that this was all fabricated in cahoots with the famous family, which Ray J took offense to on Instagram and later apologized for.

After the episode was aired, the Comedy Central show posted a highlight clip of the interview to Twitter with the caption “Charlamagne doesn’t believe the hype. Do you think @rayj is a part of the marketing rollout for the second season of #TheKardashians?” Ray J took to Instagram to criticize Charlamagne’s line of questioning, calling him “corny” and “lame” for pushing that narrative. They were harsh words amidst a long rant, and the R&B singer said he “would’ve never [done the] show” if he knew Charlamagne would ask something like that. However, Ray J recently hopped on Instagram again to apologize to The Breakfast Club host.

“Earlier today I saw a headline on @cthashow that made me very upset,” wrote the 41-year-old, “because I’m very serious about my truth – this is my life and my kids I’m representing! But the way I reacted was wrong – I should not have used those negative words and called @cthagod – that’s not the way I want to resolve an issue with somebody I respect. I have a lot on my back and mind right now and it’s taking a toll on me. I wanna apologize to you, nobody told me to do this- I haven’t picked up my phone because I feel it’s becoming toxic. This is from the heart I’m sorry for the way I reacted- it was very unprofessional. Peace and Love KING @cthagod.”

In the interview itself, Ray J responded in a civil manner to Charlamagne’s question and denied any involvement in the leak, saying that if he really did what they say he did, they would’ve sued long ago. When asked specifically about whether this was all for show, he said that “in a good world,” that would be the case. He also said that his tape with Kim is still making money to this day, with a recent report indicating sales of $1.4 million in its first month.

Stay tuned to HotNewHipHop for the latest updates in Ray J and the Kardashians-Jenners’ tape trial. You can also check out the full interview with Ray J on Hell Of A Week below.

PnB Rock’s “Selfish” Returns To Charts, Streams Spike 652% Following Rapper’s Tragic Death

PnB Rock’s unexpected death earlier this month left a hole in the hearts of many – one that they’ve been evidently filling by streaming the late 30-year-old’s music, particularly his 2017 breakout hit.

According to Billboard, in the days following Rock’s September 12th murder, his streams have increased by over 650% from 4.1 million during the first full week of the month to 30.5 million U.S. official on-demand streams within the week ending on September 15th.

“Selfish” alone has amassed an impressive 7.7M plays, helping the hit single return to Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at No. 17 and the Hot Rap Songs chart at No. 13.

The song was some of Rock’s most vulnerable work and found him reflecting on commitment issues while still experiencing the natural human desire for connection. As HipHopDX notes, it also landed on Apple Music’s U.S. Top Songs list in the No. 1 spot.

Other previous releases from the Philadelphia native that have been racking up posthumous streams include “Middle Child” featuring XXXTentacion (2.1 million), “Horses” featuring Kodak Black and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (1.8 million), and finally, the rapper’s last release before he passed, “Luv Me Again” (1.8 million).

Toya Johnson Goes Off On Akademiks For Calling Reginae Out Of Her Name

DJ Akademiks has created a music and entertainment commentator name for himself. From interviewing celebrities to making unwanted comments about them, the 31-year-old has garnered a few enemies in the industry. While some people let his remarks slide, this time, one person wasn’t having it.

Toya Wright Johnson is a businesswoman and reality television personality widely known for her relationship with Lil Wayne. The two were married for two years and produced a daughter named Reginae Carter, who has remained relevant in the industry due to her acting work, social media presence and relationships.

For a while, the 23-year-old dated rapper YFN Lucci. However, they called it quits shortly after the artist got locked away on a RICO indictment– this was the topic Akademiks chose to speak on. “Reginae loved hood n*ggas; she loved YFN Lucci,” he said to his live viewers.

He continued his rant by stating that she attended celebrity events with YFN when they were together, willing to take on everything that came with his persona. “You know these b*tch– let me not call her a b*tch. These chicks love a hood n*gga until he’s facing 25 to life,” he said.

For more than three minutes, Akademiks talked about Reginae’s love life, brining up how her new boyfriend, YouTuber Armon Warren, is the complete opposite of Lucci.

It didn’t take long for Toya to catch wind of AK’s comments and fire off at him. She took to IG and shared a post that read, “@akademiks I can’t stand men that do b*tch sh*t. Keep my daughter name out your mouth. Clout chasing is at an all time high. Let her live her 23 yr old life.” She also spoke about him calling her out of her name, saying, “Calling her a b*tch and all that other sh*t is not cool.”

2 Chainz Is Looking For A Stunt Double

Whether you’re filming a music video, promo shoot, advertisement, movie scene, or any other video, and you’re as big of a rapper as Atlanta icon 2 Chainz, you want to make sure you’re still safe in the process. The “Birthday Song” MC, set to appear in an upcoming star-studded Gangsta Grillz mixtape from Symba, is looking for a stunt double or stand-in for a new project. He made a call to action via Instagram to get people applying.

“Are you down? Disappointed? Can’t find a job?” asked 2 in his best infomercial voice. “Look no further. You can stand in for me.” He pointed the camera towards the set behind him, which looks to be a basketball court with rap music in the background. The 45-year-old also laid out some ground rules for prospective clones.

“Be at least 6’5″, wear black, and get paid for that s**t,” said Mr. Chainz. Many fans in the comments were quick to point out that 6’5″‘s a bit of a rarity these days, and some of the responses warrant a chuckle.

Apart from sourcing lookalikes for a shoot, 2 Chainz has also tried to make a positive impact in his local politics. Killer Mike recently spoke on behalf of the two at an Atlanta City Council meeting to address laws that could hurt Black business owners. On the music side of things, he updated fans about the sequel to his Lil Wayne collab tapeColleGrove2.

Do you think you have what it takes to stand in for Tity Boi? We’re sure you’d be one of many DM slides that the Atlanta rapper would receive following his announcement.

Trina Makes Her Wrestling Debut On “AEW Rampage”

Katrina Laverne Taylor, known professionally as Trina, has been in the rap industry for decades. Hailing from Miami, Florida, the 47-year-old is known for her vulgar lyrics and unwavering confidence. While her leading talent is rapping, Trina has appeared in a couple of movies and reality television shows, but recently, she’s taken on another hobby– wrestling.

Earlier this week, the rapper revealed that she would be participating in a wrestling match series. Ali Elite Wrestling is considered the second largest wrestling promotion behind WWE. Founded in 2019, the show created its spin-off, AEW Rampage, a year ago. The show allows the biggest stars from AEW’s original platform to compete against each other.

In an effort to promote the AEW Grand Slam, Trina did a face-off with the title holder, Jade Cargill. In the clip, the rapper appeared alongside wrestler Diamanté, hoping to psych out the competition.

Yesterday (September 23), the championship match was held. Trina’s companion ultimately lost the fight, forcing her to join the winning team.

As Diamanté lay on the floor, the rapper pulled her up by her hair and knocked her back to the ground. With the audience erupting in awe, the commentators said, “Come on, Trina. I guess baddies stick together. Who can you trust anymore?”

In other news regarding Trina, she is set to receive the “I Am Hip Hop” honor at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards. Airing on October 4, the show will be hosted by Fat Joe with special performances by GloRilla, Moneybagg Yo, EST Gee and more.

Fetty Wap To Be Sentenced For Dealing Cocaine

Fetty Wap’s legal woes continue to reach the public eye, as AllHipHop reports that he has received a sentencing date for a federal drug charge. He will be sentenced on January 18th, 2023 by Judge Joanna Seybert for a charge of conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams of cocaine or more.

The “Trap Queen” star pled guilty to the crime this August, for which he was indicted along with five other individuals for their participation in a drug trafficking ring. While the indictment mentioned other drugs, the rapper was only charged for cocaine. He now faces a minimum of five years and a maximum of 40 in prison, and waved his right to appeal if sentenced to ten years and a month or less. The 31-year-old has already done time and has been pictured behind bars.

“The pipeline of drugs in this investigation ran thousands of miles from the West Coast to the communities here in our area, contributing to the addiction and overdose epidemic we have seen time and time again tear people’s lives apart,” said FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge, Michael J. Driscoll. “The fact that we arrested a chart-topping rap artist and a corrections officer as part of the conspiracy illustrates just how vile the drug trade has become. I want to commend the work of our Long Island Gang Task Force and our law enforcement partners for working day in and day out to get these deadly drugs off our streets.”

These recent developments follow Fetty Wap’s release on a $500,000 bond last year after being arrested, which was revoked last December for violations of pretrial release terms. His bond was revoked again after recordings of him threatening to kill someone on FaceTime last December were obtained by authorities last month.

Orlanda Brown Shares Thoughts On Chrisean Rock, “Do You Have An Actual Career?”

Throughout the years, Orlando Brown’s career has taken quite a turn. He started as an actor, increasing his popularity with every role, but his recent relevancy has depended on his comical interviews. From talking about conspiracy theories to spreading rumors about people in Hollywood, the 34-year-old has garnered an audience every time he shares his commentary.

His most recent viral moment had to do with reality television star Chrisean Rock. The 22-year-old is known for being tough and stern due to her relationship with rapper Blueface. The two have made headlines consistently for the past few months by fighting each other and their family members.

The couple became a topic during a sit-down discussion with Cam Capone News. “The reality is,” Orlando said,” they need a break… It’s just really toxic.” While he complimented her plethora of tattoos, he urged that the couple needs some time apart. The actor recalled Chrisean’s recent arrest, to which the host responded, “How many times has she been arrested– like three times in the past month?”

As he has had years of experience in the industry, Orlando alluded that people will soon become uninterested in her persona. “She’s not [going to] get a show that way… We’ve stopped giving money to people that want to be self-destructive and destruct our sh*t,” he told the interviewer.

He then questioned what her reality series’ brand would revolve around. “Are we just beating on people… or do you have something to offer these little girls that are looking up to you because you’re with their idol,” he pondered.

Check out the entire clip below. Do you agree with Orlando? Let us know in the comments.

BFG Straap Killed In Dallas Shooting, Rising Rapper Was Only 22

Another rising rapper has been taken too soon.

According to a new report from HipHopDX, 22-year-old Dallas-based artist BFG Straap was gunned down and killed earlier this week on the city’s south side along with another man, 26-year-old Cory Lucien. The older of the two tragically died at the scene of the crime, while Straap – real name Antywon Dillard – was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Straap’s career began to buzz after singles like “GANG MEMBER,” “Everyday 420,” and “I’m Good” blew up among listeners. He first started making music in 2016, though it wasn’t until the arrival of 2019’s “Las Vegas” that he really started making waves.

The Sin City-inspired track caught the attention of renowned producer JetsonMade (best known for working with artists like DaBaby and Jack Harlow), and the two collaborated several times throughout the past few years. On Straap’s 2021 album, Straap 4 President, he spit over a beat by Jet on “Parlay.”

The late rapper’s most recent arrival, 11:11, hit streamers just last month. It’s been noted that Dillard’s rap persona had amassed over 17K monthly listeners on Spotify alone before his passing.

Tributes from all over Dallas and beyond have been pouring in for the late 22-year-old, including one from DJ Cav2X, who wrote, “Can’t believe I’m making this post gang. You messed us up with this one fasho, you and ma @ldthemanager believed in me when nobody else did, what I suppose to do now? Forever thankful for the opportunity, love you forever mane.”

At this time, no arrests have been made in the killings. Tap back in with HNHH later for any further updates on the investigation. RIP BFG Straap and Cory Lucien.

Erica Banks & Finesse2Tymes Seemingly Break Up

Earlier this month, rappers Erica Banks and Finesse2Tymes sparked dating rumors. The two were seen boo’d up on Instagram shortly after Finesse signed a record deal with Moneybagg Yo. While their sudden relationship shocked social media users, their alleged breakup was even more appalling.

Recently, an image of the Memphis artist began circulating online. As a woman snapped a photo in the mirror, he stood shirtless in the background. She captioned the image, “If it ain’t [mob ties] then it’s f*ck ya,” which is a popular line from the rapper’s single, “Back End.”

As of now, neither Erica nor Finesse have spoken about the viral picture, but social media users quickly realized that the two no longer share images of each other on their pages. However, they still follow each other.

People showed no remorse towards Erica after her recent controversial comments. Earlier this week, the Texas native stated that her friends must fit in a certain category in order to go out with her in public. “Because the look of everything is so important to me. If she ain’t thick enough, no. Hair not did good enough? Nope. Can’t dress? Nope. Skinny? Nope! [laughs],” she said on her close friends.

After she began catching heat, she defended her statement by tweeting, “I love my skinny/smaller women with a passion. Let’s not get it misconstrued. However, when I go to the CLUB, I want thick bitches shaking ass everywhere! That’s my vibe.”
