Kanye West Unfollows Kim Kardashian On Instagram And Goes Private

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian seemingly have polar opposite relationships with Instagram.

Kardashian, as the Kardashians and Jenners do, relishes the app. Posting advertisements for her Skims and KKW Fragrance lines, along with throwbacks of her and her sisters and new photos of her children and nieces and nephews, Kim is active on IG and always has been. So much so that, just last week her daughter North was clowning her about how she changes her voice for IG stories when it’s time to push a product to her 253 million followers.

West, on the other hand, has had a rocky relationship with the Facebook-owned social platform. Since creating his account couple of years ago, Kanye has gone from posting layouts of Yeezy-branded clothing and footwear, the Wyoming ranch and lists scribbled on scrap paper to his more recent work: screenshots of him asking Virgil Abloh for a watch that does backflips instead of front flips and adding Pusha T to a group chat with Drake, veiled threats towards the Canadian Rapper and less-veiled outbursts including revealing the location of Drake’s Toronto estate for all his followers to see.

Despite still using Kardashian West as her last name on IG and posting multiple screenshots of her listening to tracks off Donda (on mute, albeit)Kim filed for divorce from West back in February and the 44-year old rapper allegedly confessed to cheating in the lyrics of his song “Hurricane” just a couple of weeks ago. Longtime fans of the Donda rapper should not be surprised at West’s struggles with IG or social media in general (Kanye has gone on some of the most legendary Twitter tirades of all time), but his most recent actions on the app — unfollowing Kim (who for a long time was the only person he followed) and going private are certainly of note.

What do you think? Is this Ye being Ye on the internet or is unfollowing Kim and going private the sign of something more to come? Let us know in the comments.

Illegal Adidas Sneaker Disqualifies Vienna City Marathon Winner

When it comes to long-distance running, the rules can be quite strict to ensure fairness amongst all of the athletes. Marathons can be extremely taxing on the body and in order to come through with a win, you have to be able to perform at your highest level for a few hours at a time. With this in mind, the people who oversee these events can be sticklers for enforcing the rules, even if those rules don’t make all that much sense.

In recent years, we have seen numerous crackdowns on footwear, and that is exactly what happened to Ethiopian runner Derara Hurisa yesterday. Hurisa came in first at the Vienna City Marathon, although he was eventually disqualified as Leonard Langat was given the victory.

According to a statement from the marathon’s Twitter account, Hurisa’ Adidas shoes were not permissible for the event. As reported by Complex Sneakers, Hurisa was wearing the Adidas Adizero Prime X, which has a midsole thickness of 5cm. The legal limit is only 4cm, which means Hurisa’s shoe was 1cm over the allowed limit. It’s curious as to why the shoes weren’t checked before the race, as this whole mess could have been sorted out much earlier.

The Adizero Prime X was launched earlier this year and so far, it has been a huge hit amongst both professional and casual runners. Perhaps the most ironic thing to come out of this is that the eventual winner was also wearing a pair of Adidas shoes, although they had the more legal Adizero Adios Pro 2.

Freddie Gibbs Film Debut “Down With The King” Acquired By Sony Pictures

Freddie Gibbs has made a name for himself in rap circles but now, he’s aiming to garner equal acclaim in the world of film. The Gary, IN rapper has previously expressed his desire to get in front of a camera, and that ultimately materialized in his role inDown With The King. The Diego Ongaro-directed film made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival ACID line-up to widespread praise, though fans still haven’t been able to check out Freddie Gibbs’s feature film debut.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures’ 6 Stage Films has now acquired the rights to the film which is a strong sign that it’ll receive a theatrical release soon. The film’s already received the Grand Prize at the Deuville American Film Festival.  Down With The King stars Gibbs alongside Jamie Neumann, David Krumholytz, Sharon Washington, and Bob Tarasuk.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Sony Pictures to bring Down with the King to the world and showcase Freddie Gibbs’ incredible talent beyond music,” said Ongaro of Sony Pictures’ acquisition of Down With The King.

In related news, Freddie Gibbs seemingly kicked off the campaign for SSS over the weekend with the release of “Vice Lord Poetry” — a remix of Drake’s CLB intro. On his latest freestyle, the rapper addresses his previous rift with Rick Ross, who he now looks at like his “mother’s son,” as well as Kendrick Lamar’s claim that he’s smoking on “top 5.”

Gibbs might be readying a proper transition into Hollywood but he will always remain one of the hardest gangsta rappers in the game.

SZA’s Dad Calls Out Doja Cat For Not Letting Her Speak During Award Acceptance

SZA’s father is unimpressed with Doja Cat, her “Kiss Me More” collaborator, after the MTV VMAs. Doja was hosting the event, and she won the award for Best Collaboration with SZA, accepting the prize on stage with the TDE princess. She didn’t actually allow SZA to speak though, which confused many fans watching at home. Even SZA’s dad is calling out Doja now, speaking his mind on the “unprofessional pettiness” that he witnessed.

Updating his Instagram Stories on Monday, SZA’s father called out Doja Cat for not thinking to give the microphone to his daughter, saying, “That was some unprofessional pettiness @Doja Cat [angry face emoji].”

During her acceptance speech, SZA patiently stood next to Doja as she accepted the award, seemingly waiting for her turn to address her fans. Especially considering the prize was for “Best Collaboration,” you would think that SZA would get some time to speak. However, she never did. The producers played them off the stage as Doja rambled about looking “like a worm” in her dress.

Doja Cat and SZA have not addressed the awkward moment. Doja has spoken out about her hosting job last night, saying that all of her outfits were “perfect” but no word on snubbing SZA during their acceptance speech.

Check out what SZA’s dad had to say below.

Future Finally Has His First #1 Song, Thanks To Drake

Future has been releasing hit records for over a decade but until today, he had never had a #1 song. He got very close with “Life Is Good” with Drake, which hovered around the top spot for weeks before dropping off. Now, after 125 overall entries on the Billboard Hot 100, Future can finally say that he’s topped that chart, clocking in at #1 with “Way 2 Sexy.”

The Atlanta-based rapper is featured on the song alongside Young Thug. It appears on Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy, sampling Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy.” Earlier today, it was revealed that Drake made history once again, charting every single song from the album within the top 40. He also presently occupies a grand total of 9 songs in the top 10, breaking a record

With Future finally having a number one track, the rapper reportedly sets the record for the longest wait to get a #1 hit, earning his first after 125 entries.

As for Young Thug, this is his third #1 song, following “FRANCHISE” with Travis Scott and “Havana” with Camila Cabello.

Drake extends his record as the rapper with the most #1 songs in history, achieving his ninth this week.

Congratulations to Drake, Future, and Young Thug on their new #1 record!

Stephen A. Smith Chastises Aaron Rodgers For “Shameful Performance”

Aaron Rodgers had a horrific start to the season on Sunday as his Green Bay Packers lost to the Jameis Winston-led New Orleans Saints by a score of 38-3. Rodgers and the Packers went through a lot of drama in the summer, only for it to result in one of the most embarrassing losses in the history of the franchise. Now, the team needs to go back to the drawing board, and Rodgers is going to have to reevaluate his play.

In the aftermath of the game, pundits went off on Rodgers as they urged him to be better moving forward. As for Winston, he was praised for his performance and if he continues to play like this, the Saints will be bonafide Super Bowl contenders.

Many football fans were waiting on Stephen A. Smith’s reaction to Rodgers’ play given the fact that Smith has been a huge advocate for Rodgers over the years. Despite this fandom, Smith did not hold back on Rodgers as he absolutely decimated the QB for his horrendous showing. In fact, Smith said it was the “most shameful performance of Aaron Rodgers’ career.”

“That was the most atrocious performance of [Aaron Rodgers’] career. He was so awful that embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe it,” Smith exclaimed.

Needless to say, Smith is disappointed with what he saw yesterday, as is everyone who cheers for the Packers. As of today, the team is in a bad spot, and it’s going to take a lot of soul searching to get back to the top.

Jack Harlow Reveals What Eminem Told Him Over The Phone

Jack Harlow still hasn’t gotten the chance to meet Eminem, despite their collaboration on the “Killer” remix with Cordae earlier this year. However, the two have spoken over the phone and Jack opened up about their conversation for the first time on the MTV VMAs red carpet last night, revealing the most “special” moment about the call.

“We didn’t get to meet, but we had a phone call that meant the world to me,” said Jack about Eminem. “I haven’t shared it with the world yet, but I can’t wait until the world hears it. He gave me a lot of props that any artist would love to get. Sometimes, the best gem is just somebody you admire, letting you know who you think you are. He let me know, ‘You’re that. You’re dope.’ I’ve waited a decade to hear that. So it was special.”

Considering the fact that Jack has named Eminem a major influence, it must have been a crazy moment picking up the phone and realizing he was speaking to one of his idols.

He was one of the main attractions at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, performing “INDUSTRY BABY” with Lil Nas X and sharing a funny moment on the red carpet when LNX shut down Jack, who seemingly looked at him in a flirty manner. Check that out here.

Anderson Silva Comes Through For Tito Ortiz In A Big Way

Anderson Silva is one of the best fighters of all time and over the weekend, he got to participate in his second career boxing match as he took on Tito Ortiz for Triller Fight Club. The match was quite sad for Ortiz as he stood no chance against Silva. Spider came out slow although it was mostly to bait Ortiz into a false sense of security. That’s when Silva came through and delivered a knockout punch in the first round.

While the fight was quite brutal although afterward, Silva and Ortiz were cordial with each other. In fact, Silva came through with an incredible gesture for Ortiz that had the latter taking to social media with nothing but praise for his opponent.

Drake Breaks Hot 100 Record, Charts 9 Songs In The Top 10

Drake is living up to his new nickname “The Decade,” showing that he’s as dominant as he ever has been. Following the release of Certified Lover Boy, which is presently the #1 album in the world, the Toronto native is making his city proud, charting nine songs inside the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten.

The Billboard Hot 100 was updated a few moments ago, and it was revealed that Drake occupies every single spot inside the top five. “Way 2 Sexy” is the most popular song in the country, being followed by “Girls Want Girls,” “Fair Trade,” “Champagne Poetry,” and “Knife Talk.” It’s been decades since an artist dominated the charts this hard — in fact, the last time any musical act had the top five spots on the Hot 100, it was The Beatles in 1964. No other artist has achieved this accomplishment since then.

The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber managed to stay on the chart’s top ten, clocking in at #6 with “Stay” before Drake claimed every other spot.

“In The Bible” is number seven, followed by “Papi’s Home,” “TSU,” and “Love All.”

With “Way 2 Sexy” debuting at the top spot, Drake experiences the second-best single-week streaming numbers of the year, falling short of Olivia Rodrigo with “driver’s license.”

Congratulations to Drake for this dominant display. Check out the Top 10 below.

Jay-Z’s Catalog Now Available On Instagram Stories

There’s hardly a moment of the past 25+ years of Jay-Z’s career that he hasn’t provided definitive anthems. Saturday marked the 20-year anniversary of The Blueprint and in August, Jay and Kanye celebrated 10 years of The Throne by announcing a sequel on “Jail.” Needless to say, Jay’s catalog is quintessential to hip-hop culture.

Unfortunately, the rise of streaming services had prevented Hov’s catalog from being available on any platform other than TIDAL. While that has changed in recent times, Instagram Stories has remained without some of Jay’s best tracks until recently. According to Rap Radar co-host Brian “B. Dot” Miller, fans can finally soundtrack their Stories with Jay-Z songs, and that’s largely due to Angie Martinez.

fyi: we can use jigga’s music on instagram stories now. thank @angiemartinez for that,” B. Dot wrote.

While it’s still unclear how Angie managed to pull that off, she did confirm that she did, in fact, play a role in getting Jay’s catalog included on Instagram Stories. “haaa! not really sure how u knew that but…. yeah, too many great ig stories to be had. you’re all welcome,” Angie wrote.

Jay-Z still doesn’t actually have an Instagram account and seeing how he’s a member of Square’s Board Of Directors, it seems unlikely that he’ll be joining the app anytime soon. It is exciting that his music can now be officially accessed on Instagram, though.
