Top Draft Prospect Jalen Carter Issued Arrest Warrant

Jalen Carter, who is widely projected to be a top-five prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft, has been charged with reckless driving and racing in conjunction with a crash that killed a teammate and a recruiting staff member at Georgia in January. At the time of the announcement, Carter is in Indianapolis at the NFL scouting combine. He was planning to meet with reporters as part of a media availability on Wednesday. However, a league spokesperson has since told reporters that Carter would not be speaking. They explained that he, as well as five other players, are still conducting physicals.

Lt. Shaun Barnett of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department says that Carter will address the charges when he returns to Georgia. Both reckless driving and racing are misdemeanors in the state. “It is my understanding that Mr. Carter is making arrangements to turn himself in,” Barnett told The Associated Press.

“The evidence demonstrated that both vehicles switched between lanes, drove in the center turn lane, drove in opposite lanes of travel, overtook other motorists, and drove at high rates of speed, in an apparent attempt to outdistance each other,” the police statement said. Police added that “alcohol impairment, racing, reckless driving, and speed were significant contributing factors to the crash.”

Georgia coach Kirby Smart reacted to the news in a statement: “The charges announced today are deeply concerning, especially as we are still struggling to cope with the devastating loss of two beloved members of our community. We will continue to cooperate fully with the authorities while supporting these families and assessing what we can learn from this horrible tragedy.”

The crash occurred after the Bulldogs celebrated winning back-to-back national championships. Carter was allegedly racing his 2021 Jeep Trackhawk against the aforementioned 24-year-old recruiting staffer, Chandler LeCroy, who was driving his 2021 Ford Expedition. Offensive lineman Devin Willock also died in the crash.

Joe Mixon Allegedly Pointed Gun At Woman

Joe Mixon had another fantastic season with the Cincinnati Bengals. Overall, he was one of the best running backs in the entire NFL. Additionally, he helped bring the team to yet another AFC Championship game. Unfortunately for the Bengals, they were ousted by the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Either way, Mixon is 26 years old, and the Bengals see him as one of the key pieces of this offense.

As it turns out, however, Mixon has been hit with some very serious allegations. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Bengals superstar allegedly pointed a gun at a woman back on January 21st. This was just one day before the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round. Additionally, it is being claimed that Mixon said “You should be popped in the face, I should shoot you, the police [can’t] get me.”

Mixon’s agent made a statement to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. “It was a rush to judgement,” Peter Schaffer said. “I really feel that police have an obligation before they file charges — because of a damage that can be done to the person’s reputation — to do their work. They should be held to a higher standard. Because I don’t play with people’s lives.” Moreover, Mixon’s mom told Kelsey Conway that he didn’t do it and that this is simply a money grab. As for the Bengals, the organization is currently doing an internal investigation of the matter.

Overall, this is certainly not the story that Bengals fans were hoping to hear right now. Many are still reeling from the loss against the Chiefs, and now, serious allegations are being levied against their running back. For now, this remains a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates. Additionally, let us know your thoughts on these initial reports, in the comments down below.

Antonio Brown Arrest Warrant Withdrawn: Details

Antonio Brown was seemingly in some trouble with the law just last month. As we had reported, an arrest warrant was issued against Brown. This stemmed from an alleged altercation with the mother of his children. According to the initial report, he had kicked her out of his house and issued an eviction notice.

Subsequently, the police tried to arrest AB. They even showed up at his home, where it was believed that he was in some sort of standoff. Reports suggested that Brown had guns in the home and the police wanted to make the arrest as peacefully as possible.

Antonio Brown Is Free

According to a new report from TMZ, the arrest warrant that was placed against AB has been officially revoked. Now, Brown is going to get to walk free, and the standoff was all for nothing. Overall, this is certainly good news for the former wide receiver.

Per TMZ’s report, it was revealed that just a few days ago, the accuser had an interview with police. During this interview, she decided to change her story and rescind her allegations. Consequently, the police had no choice but to throw away the warrant.

Although the initial allegations seemed quite serious, the police feel like this is the best course of action right now. After all, they don’t have all the evidence they need to make an arrest. Needless to say, this story is pretty well wrapped up, and Brown is certainly going to be breathing a sigh of relief.
