Whelp, Big Sean, just had his project leaked. The Detroit rapper who was initially signed to G.O.O.D. Music by Kanye West in 2005 – ya’ll remember that – has been somewhat feuding with Yeezy for a while.
We recently reported a friendly reminder when, Ye, back in 2021 on Drink Champs said signing Sean as “the worst thing I’ve ever done.” Just toxic.
This week, Sean fired shots at Kanye in a freestyle on ‘On the Radar.’ But get this, the “Blessings” rapper’s upcoming, unannounced album has been leaked in what some believe is a form of retaliation. That’s just whack.
Let’s bring it back to that freestyle we reported on. During his session, Sean spit a few bars over Aaliyah’s “If Your Girl Only Knew,” produced by Timbaland and blessed us with a few one liners like, “I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason… I got better things to do than find someone to beef with.”
Some people looking to create smoke where there was none speculated that these lines were aimed at Kendrick Lamar, but chill, they weren’t. And DJ Hed, confirmed via Twitter that Sean told him the line was “directed at a different Gemini” — presumably Kanye West.
A ha …
So get this, according to Variety, 14 new tracks by Big Sean have surfaced online. Yikes. This weak move by whoever, threw a monkey wrench into Sean’s album rollout which was merely in the teaser wave of his release strategy.
Some of the unfinished songs feature high profile collaborations with Nas, Brent Faiyaz, and Charlie Wilson.
Who was the culprit? Your guess is as good as ours but the tracks were leaked by an anonymous user with the handle bigseandon811, who wrote, “Since he wanna disrespect Ye so much, here’s the album, fuck him and his whole team.”
And for either an attempt at misdirection or self snitching, the hacker also claimed that Kanye West had instructed them to leak the album, as reported by HotNewHipHop.
So, in direct response to the leak move Big Sean posted a teaser for a new track produced by Alchemist on social media, with the caption:
“Might as well start droppin, before they leak it all, got damn.”
Damn, is right.
