Despite the impressive competition among nominees, Nas recently said that he isn’t often impressed by Today’s rappers. In a recent interview with Financial Times, he gave his opinion on contemporary rap: “I appreciate what’s out there, but there’s no one keeping me up at night. I hear a new rap record and think it’s great, but I don’t listen to it the next week.”

Nas did add that he is very impressed by the late-New York rapper Pop Smoke: “We were happy to see that young king come up. He was a breath of fresh air. The drill movement in London, Chicago, and New York is really exciting.”

Other Grammy winners thus far include Megan Thee Stallion for Best Rap Performance with her song “Savage,” featuring Beyonce. More award winners will be announced throughout the night.

Blue Ivy Is Now One Of Youngest Grammy Winners In Music History

At just the young age of nine-years-old, Blue Ivy continues to land impressive achievements in the music world. Thanks to her appearance in Beyonce’sBrown Skin Girl” video with Wizkid and Saint Jhn, Ivy is one of the youngest Grammy winners in history after the video took home the win in the Best Music Video category. She was just eight-years-old when she stood beside her mom in the video.

It’s also not the first award that the Carters have won for the song. They previously won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration back in February, and prior to that, they took home the Video Of The Year award at November’s Soul Train Awards. The youngest Grammy nominee and winner is Leah Peasall of The Peasall Sisters who won the Album Of The Year in 2001 as a credited artist on the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. Leah was just eight-years-old at the time.

Beyonce’s “Brown Skin Girl” beat out Future and Drake’s “Life Is Good,” Anderson .Paak’s “Lockdown,” Harry Styles’ “Adore You” and Woodkid’s “Goliath” to take home the award. The Best Music Video also gives the Lemonade singer the 24th Grammy award of her career. She could take home additional awards at this year’s Grammys as she’s nominated in eight other categories that include Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best R&B Performance.

Trey Songz Previews New Track Amid Mouth-Spitting Controversy

Trey Songz released his eighth studio album Back Home via Atlantic Records in the latter half of last year, with appearances from Summer Walker, Ty Dolla Sign, Davido, and Swae Lee, but it seems like he’s already gearing up to drop some brand new tracks already. Amid the controversy surrounding newly surfaced footage displaying Trigga spitting into the mouths of two women on what appears to be the set of a new visual project, the actor/singer previewed a new track for fans on his Instagram account.

Songz shared a clip on Saturday (March 13) sampling the new music for fans. “She’s a runner she’s a track star, she gon’ grip it tight till it gets soft…” croons the 36-year-old over the reggaeton-inspired melody in the 13-second clip. Fittingly, he captioned the video, “#lemmeholdatbeat.”

While he didn’t offer any other context about the new song’s title, release date, or project it’s set to appear on, the recent viral footage of Songz may be in connection with the new music on the way.

In case you missed it, social media was set ablaze this morning when footage of Trey Songz spitting in two women’s mouths went viral. Users were floored to see the self-proclaimed Playboy partaking in the degrading action, especially considering our pandemic-state status.

Check out the footage and reactions below, and let us know if you’re looking forward to new music from Trigga.

FRVRFRIDAY Returns With Melodic Vibes On “TIME FOR YOU”

FRVRFRIDAY is an artist from Edmonton, Alberta in Canada, who has taken the hip-hop world by storm. Back in October, he dropped a song called “Window Shopping” with the likes of Lil Baby and since then, fans have been waiting to see what he does next. The artist has continued to drop new tracks, and now, he is back with a song called “TIME FOR YOU.”

This new song delivers the full scope of FRVRFRIDAY’s vocal talents as he sings blissfully over a lowkey instrumental that is filled with guitar loops and rattling hi-hats. The chilled-out track features some lustful and braggadocios lyrics that truly set some immaculate vibes. It’s yet another example of how FRVRFRIDAY is an artist who needs to be on your radar.

Quotable Lyrics:

You don’t even know who I am
Talking ’bout me to your friends
You don’t know where to find me
Unless I’m posted with the gang
She got the news that my crew pulled up to the spot
She wan’ know what the plot is

Papoose Unveils “February” Mixtape

Papoose came with some sad news earlier this year when he announced that he would be retiring from rap. At a time when lyrical artists aren’t dominating the game as they once was, Pap is here to fill in the void with slick wordplay and solid overall bars. This week, the rapper returned with his mixtape February. The rapper’s latest body of work is a nine-track effort where he just snaps over production, proving that he’s one of the nicest to ever touch a mic. He even touches Big L’s “Ebonics” beat and offers a solid update appropriate for 2021.

Cory Gunz Unveils New Project “Tims N Hoodies”

Cory Gunz left an everlasting impact with his verse on Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot.” The Young Money empire isn’t as strong as it once was but he remains part of the Young Money Militia, as he rapped on the song. Unfortunately, he took a bit of a break from the rap game that lasted roughly three years. Earlier this year, he made his way back into the limelight with the release of “Different” and now, he’s offered Tims N Hoodies in its entirety. The project is nine-songs in length with a single feature coming from Gudda Gudda who joins Gunz on “SDE (Sports Drugz Entertainment) Freestyle.”

If you’ve been waiting on new music from Cory Gunz, this project won’t disappoint. Check out Tims N Hoodies below.

Gudda Gudda Drops New Project “Nina”

The Young Money empire isn’t what it once was. After all, every empire is bound to face its own decline at some point. The height of the Young Money camp included artists like Jae Millz and Gudda Gudda getting some mainstream shine, though, with Wayne’s arrest and the subsequent label issues, we haven’t heard a whole lot from them.

Gudda Gudda has been unveiling new projects over the past few months. In 2020, he unveiled 7 Slugs. Now, he’s back with his new project Nina. Equipped with nine tracks and no credited features, Gudda Gudda showcases his talents in full without holding back.

Keep your eyes peeled for more new music from Gudda Gudda and check out his brand new project, Nina below. Sound off in the comments with your favorite track.
