Deandre Ayton Gives Giannis Major Props Following Suns’ Finals Loss

Throughout the NBA Finals, Giannis Antetokounmpo was simply sensational. In Game 6, Giannis scored 50 points in a closeout game that ultimately won his team the championship. This performance was good enough to win him Finals MVP and moving forward, Giannis’ legacy will forever be cemented in NBA history.

Unfortunately, these performances all came at the expense of Phoenix Suns breakout star Deandre Ayton, who visibly struggled to guard Giannis throughout the series. Despite the struggles, Ayton recently told reporters that he learned a lot throughout the series and that guarding Giannis was something that will help develop his game for years to come. In fact, the Suns player even described the matchup as fun.

“I mean, it was fun. Just like any other matchup that I faced. I think I seen—this is the most time I’ve ever seen Giannis, but, yeah, man, it was fun. I love competing, I love the challenges, man, but I just wish I could win. But at the same time, it was fun, I learned a lot. Just with consistency when it comes to this thing called competing, you can’t really have any mishaps at this high level,” Ayton said. “I tip my hat off to Milwaukee, because everybody that checked in, even if they didn’t check in, they wanted to die on that court. And that’s what I felt. That’s what it takes. Everybody got to give it their all when it comes to this, especially when it’s last game.”

While Ayton struggled to start his career, he has truly come into his own over the past year, and as of next season, he will be one of the best big men to watch out for. This Suns roster is still extremely young and they have plenty of time to figure things out.

Chloe Bailey Has Been Cast In The Creator+ Psychological Thriller ‘Jane’

Chloe and Halle Bailey of R&B duo Chloe X Halle have proven to be a multitalented pair. Not only are they one of music’s most sought-after new acts, performing on awards shows, sporting events, and corporate livestreams throughout the pandemic in lieu of touring, but they are also both accomplished actresses. While they both appear on Black-ish spinoff Grown-ish as the athletic Forster twins (in reality, Chloe is two years older), Halle is headed to the big screen in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid in the title role.

While Chloe has seemingly been content to work on solo music while the sisters are separated by Halle’s shooting schedule, it appears the elder sister is ready to pursue her own movie career. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chloe has been cast in Jane, the debut feature film from Creator+, an upstart movie studio/streaming platform aimed toward Zoomers and digital creators — two categories Chloe X Halle clearly fall under and appeal to greatly. Produced by and starring Riverdale‘s Madelaine Petsch, Jane is described as a psychological thriller exploring “social media anxiety and mental health from the perspective of a high school student.”

The film will also feature model Chloe Yu, Shrill actor Ian Owens, and Oscar-winner Melissa Leo, most recently of Netflix’s Thunder Force. Creator+, founded by former YouTube executive Benjamin Grubbs, is set to launch in the first quarter of 2022.

When it comes to Fredo Bang, there is no information just yet on what he may be charged with, however, it is being reported that both arrests could stem from the 2019 shooting involving NBA YoungBoy which took place in Sunny Isles Beach.

JAY-Z Gifts Memphis Bleek An Iced-Out Roc-A-Fella Chain

Some bonds can never be broken, and the loyalty between JAY-Z and his longtime protege Memphis Bleek continues to hold strong.

For many fans, Reasonable Doubt marked the introduction to both parties, with Bleek holding it down alongside Hov on the classic “Coming Of Age.” From that point on, Bleek was a fixture on many of JAY’s releases, including Hard Knock Life, The Life & Times Of S. Carter, The Dynasty: Roc La Familia, and Blueprint 2.

Though the pair eventually stopped collaborating, Bleek remained loyal to the Roc-A-Fella dynasty, even after he branched out and launched the Warehouse Music Group. Now, Bleek has found his longtime allegiance to Hov’s legendary label rewarded, receiving an impressive gift from JAY-Z in honor of Reasonable Doubt’s twenty-fifth anniversary.

Bleek took to Instagram to show off an impressive new piece of jewelry — a diamond-encrusted depiction of the Roc-A-Fella logo — as well as a hand-written message from Hov. “Bleek, I always got you,” writes Jay. “Thanks 4 Everything!”

Bleek offered up a few words in the caption, “Just got to the crib and look what I see‼️” he writes. “#RD25 #Roc4Life 25yrs ago this album saved my life‼️The OG know on the low I had the best verse!” While it’s unlikely the naturally competitive JAY will agree with Bleek’s confident declaration, it can’t be denied that the young Marcy made the most of his Reasonable Doubt spotlight. Only a teenager at the time he laid down his vocals, Bleek brought a youthful exuberance to the mix, a fitting contrast to the OG persona JAY sought to exude.

In his Decoded book, JAY-Z reflects on the track’s creation, claiming that he actually wrote Bleek’s verse and gave him a brief window to memorize the entire song. “He took the paper I handed him and looked it over,” said JAY, as detailed by Genius. “I’d written the verse down for him in some chicken scratch… He came to my apartment the next day and spit the whole thing like he’d been doing it his whole life.”

The pair would go on to reprise their roles in “Coming Of Age (Da Sequel)”, on JAY’s 1998 album Vol 2…Hard Knock Life.

As the nostalgia for simpler times flows through you, check out Memphis Bleek’s post below.

Common Shares What He Loves About Tiffany Haddish

Common and comedian Tiffany Haddish were a match many of us didn’t necessarily see coming when they first went public with their relationship, almost a year ago. During an interview for Vlad TV, the then newly-bald Tiffany gushed about how her boyfriend loved her new ‘do, as opposed to the reaction she was receiving on social media.

The two have stayed relatively private about their relationship since then aside from the couple’s one steamy TikTok they dropped back in February.

In a recent interview with People, Common opened up about how great the past year has been for the two and what makes it work so well.

The rapper shared, “people think I’m just so serious, but I like to have fun,” he says. “I need to enjoy life. So I feel, with Tiffany and I, I’ve been experiencing that and I’m grateful for that.”

Common’s most recent role on Netflix show Never Have I Ever even has a connection to his relationship. Tiffany encouraged him to watch the show with her, and shortly after he did, Common apparently got a call with an offer for the role of Dr. Chris Jackson.

It seems to be smooth sailing for the couple, as Common admits he’s learning to “listen to what Tiffany would have to say about how she feels about something and just try to understand it instead of always having an answer.” A year in, the activist feels “it’s about really just being in a relationship where you can grow and you really support each other’s purpose and vision. I’m making you better, you’re making me better, and you can have fun.”

DeAndre Hopkins Tweets & Deletes Anti-Vaccine Sentiment

Today has been an interesting day for the NFL and its 32 teams as some new rules were handed down that could seriously shake up how everything goes down throughout the season. After experiencing numerous issues with rescheduled games last year, the league is looking to take serious action against teams who don’t follow COVID-19 protocols. The league is also taking aim at players who have yet to receive a vaccine, and are therefore putting their teammates and opposing players at risk.

One of the major rules to come down this season is that if a team experiences an outbreak amongst unvaccinated players, they will have to forfeit their game. In addition to this, none of the players on either team will get their game checks if a game is canceled. This is a pretty massive move that already has some players contemplating their future.

One such player is Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Deandre Hopkins who is adamant about not receiving the vaccine. In fact, he recently took to Twitter saying “Never thought I would say this, but being put in a position to hurt my team because I don’t want to partake in the vaccine is making me question my future in the NFL.” Hopkins eventually deleted the tweet although the sentiment was shared by other players, like Leonard Fournette.

“Vaccine I can’t do it…” Fournette wrote before deleting the tweet as well. Needless to say, these players have strong feelings on the jab, but realize the backlash isn’t worth keeping up their tweets.

With these attitudes permeating throughout the NFL, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the coming months.
