Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were *the* it couple for what felt like the better part of a decade.
From 2006 to 2016, it felt like Jolie and Pitt were the epitome of the celebrity power couple. Both parties are extremely talented with numerous accolades to show for it, and both parties seemed to care deeply about humanity and the society we live in. But following Jolie’s filing for divorce in 2016 and the half-decade’s worth of legal battles since, the veil was lifted and it became clear that this *it* couple was not as perfect as it once seemed.
In the last year, Jolie has accused Pitt of abuse and, in the wake of sexual assault allegations, it became public that Pitt’s continued work with documented abuser Harvey Weinstein was a major problem in their relationship.

Amidst all of the rumors and allegations, Jolie has been spotted with After Hours singer, The Weeknd, on several occasions. Dating rumors have swirled and until recently, neither Jolie nor The Weeknd had made any public comment about their repeated rendezvous.
In an interview with E!’s Daily Pop, however, Jolie was faced with her first question about her relationship with the Toronto singer.
While speaking about her Marvel debut in the upcoming film, The Eternals, Daily Pop flipped the script, and asked her if her children have any opinions on her newfound connection.
“Now, I have to know, because Angelina, your kids are at the age where they have opinions, so I have to know, were they more excited that you were in The Eternals, or that you are friends with The Weeknd?,” the Daily Pop host asked Jolie.
Answering cooly, Jolie turned the conversation back to her upcoming movie.
“They’re very excited about this film, if that’s what you’re asking,” she said. “They’re very excited about this film.”
It was unlikely that Jolie would talk about The Weeknd at all, but using her children as a way to ask about it was a surefire way to get next-to-nothing from the Salt star. Whether she, or The Weeknd, ever open up about the status of their friendship is yet to be seen, but knowing both of their histories with high-profile relationships, it seems unlikely that we’ll ever get anything more than paparazzi photos and strange interview questions.
