Adrien Broner Looking For KO In Comeback Fight

Adrien Broner was once one of the most hyped boxing prospects in the world. Before turning pro in 2008, Broner reportedly had an amateur record of 300-19. Furthermore, he began his career with a 27-0 run, plus one no-contest. He won several titles and became famous for bouncing back after the few losses on his record. Everything he worked for built up to a January 2019 fight with Manny Pacquiao. Broner had moved up to welterweight to challenge Pacquiao for the WBA title. It was a brutal and embarrassing unanimous decision loss for Broner, who never seemed to faze or challenge Pacqauio at any point in the fight.

After that, Broner stepped away from the ring for over two years. When he returned, his first win in over four years was once again soured. While he beat Jovanie Santiago via unanimous decision, many questioned the result. For example, two of the three judges awarded Broner the first round despite Broner failing to land a single punch. It was far from the return Broner wanted or needed. It saw him step away from the ring for another extended period. But now, he’s once again ready for a comeback.

Broner Shrugs Off Haters, Eyes KO

Speaking with TMZ, Broner got real about his June 9 fight with Bill Hutchinson. “It’s been a crazy training camp,” the 33-year-old said. “I feel good. I’m ready. I can’t wait to put on a show.” Furthermore, Broner appeared unconcerned about the people who believed he was washed and out of the game. “If I didn’t have critics or haters, then I wouldn’t be doing something right, you know? I’d feel like, ‘Shit, why nobody hatin’ on me?’”

Furthermore, Broner also noted that he would love to notch the 25th knockout of his career against Hutchinson. However, Broner’s last knockout finish came against Ashley Theophane in April 2016, over seven years ago. Furthermore, Hutchinson has not lost since 2016. The Pittsburgh-born boxer is on a 10-fight winning streak and last fought in January 2022. He holds a 20-2-4 record with nine knockouts. Who do you think will win between Broner and Hutchinson?
