Skrillex recently took the stage at Movement Detroit to share his new remix of Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s collab, “Princess Diana.” An attendee later shared a clip of the performance on Twitter, where fans chimed in. The unexpected crossover has mixed reviews, but Minaj gave Skrillex her stamp of approval. “#PrincessDiana being remixed by @skrillex is crazyyyyy,” Minaj wrote on her Instagram Story alongside the clip. She added a green check mark emoji, letting him know she approves. Skrillex also previously did a remix of Ice Spice’s Like..? track, “In Ha Mood.”

Skrillex’s Unexpected Remix
Skrillex wasn’t the first unexpected matchup to tap Ice Spice lately. She recently joined Taylor Swift on “Karma (Remix),” which landed her the record of largest streaming debut for a female rapper. Some listeners loved the collab, while other critics weren’t fans. Ebro recently shared his thoughts on the remix, claiming that Ice Spice wasn’t “ready for that moment.” He said it happened “too soon,” adding, “I don’t think it’s necessary.” He also claimed “Ice Spice don’t need Taylor.” He went on to describe the remix as a way for Swift to stay relevant to a newer audience. Ebro did, however, call her collab with Nicki Minaj “perfect.”
Ice Spice recently discussed her sudden rise to fame in her April Paper Magazine cover story. “I don’t know if I fit in,” she explained, saying, “I think that’s what makes me so different. I feel like it’s a new lane that I’ve started, and I’m starting to hear a lot of other artists sound like they belong in my lane now.”
