It’s going to be a very long time until we see Tory Lanez on the stage again. Over the past two years, the rapper hasn’t performed many sets after Megan Thee Stallion accused him of shooting her. Though he maintained his innocence since authorities laid charges, the evidence suggested otherwise. Following a contentious trial, a jury found Tory Lanez guilty on all charges related to the Megan Thee Stallion shooting. Since then, he’s remained behind bars until his sentencing date.
However, the rapper pushed back the date for his sentencing on several occasions. Most recently, the judge approved the request to delay sentencing to file a motion for a new trial. With a roster of accomplished lawyers, including attorneys that previously represented Casey Anthony and Suge Knight, making up his legal team, the rapper hopes to appeal his conviction. However, until the judge made a decision on his motion, he will stay in prison.
Tory Lanez At Rolling Loud California?
It appears that Rolling Loud felt as though Tory would beat the case. Last year, they scheduled the rapper to perform at Rolling Loud California. The festival takes place this weekend with Playboi Carti, Travis Scott and Future serving as the headliners and Lil Wayne as the special guest. However, Rolling Loud hasn’t updated their website yet and Tory Lanez remains on the bill. The Canadian rapper was scheduled to perform on Sunday with his name sitting on the second line, between Lil Uzi Vert and Moneybagg Yo.
Unless Tory’s legal team pulls off the impossible, there’s a very minimal chance that we’ll see him take the stage this weekend. After all, Rolling Loud does warn fans in the fine print that cancellations are expected. “Opening acts, as well as festival performers, are subject to change or cancellation at any time without notice. No refund will be owed if an opening act or festival performer is changed or cancelled,” it reads. Rolling Loud hasn’t unveiled the official set times which will be updated to reflect the current status of the line-up. We’ll keep you posted if anything changes but if the plan was to catch Tory this weekend, you’ll certainly be disappointed.
