Pete Davidson’s Last “SNL” Appearance May Be During Tomorrow’s Season Finale

Pete Davidson is on to better things. After nearly a decade appearing as various characters on Saturday Night Live, rumour has it that the 28-year-old will be making his exit during tomorrow night’s season finale, alongside Aidy Bryant (35), Kate McKinnon (38), and Kyle Mooney (37).

A source familiar with the matter shared the news, with Variety noting that “The actors’ departures are likely to draw a new burst of attention to the long-running program, which typically uses its summer hiatus to recalibrate its cast of players and contributors.”

As Uproxx reports, Davidson first joined SNL when he was just 20 years old in 2014, and since then he’s made a name for himself in various facets of the industry, even becoming best friends with Machine Gun Kelly and – in an unexpected turn of events – publicly beefing with Kanye West over his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian.

Nowadays, the Staten Island native has been staying booked and busy, even recently appearing alongside his BFF in the rapper’s directorial debut with Mod Sun, titled Good Mourning. With so much on his plate outside of the late-night sketch show, it makes sense why Davidson is ready to move on.

The comedian has actually been discussing his exit (publicly, anyway) since 2020. At the time, he told Charlamagna Tha God that he was feeling as though he had “outgrown the show,” and was tired of acting like his personal life was “just fodder.”

“Everybody’s always been like, ‘You’ll know when you know, and it’ll be alright.’ I personally think I should be done with that show because they make fun of me on it,” he said.

Tomorrow night’s finale will be hosted by Russian Doll actress Natasha Lyonne and feature performances by musical guest Japanese Breakfast. Will you be tuning in? Sound off in the comments below, and tap back in with HNHH later for more pop culture news updates.
