The public, Memphis memorial honoring Young Dolph may have been a somber gathering, but his loved ones made sure to celebrate his life and legacy. The rapper was callously gunned down last month in a brazen attack in his hometown. Dolph was known to not only care about his community but to be actively involved in giving back to those in need, and his loss continues to have a devastating impact on Memphis and beyond.
Yesterday (December 16), thousands gathered at the FedExForum in Memphis to pay tribute to the fallen rapper, and during the event, Dolph’s longtime partner, Mia Jaye, spoke about his dedication as a father. Dolph’s children even said a few words about their loving dad.
“I am just happy to be here because my dad was the person who raised me, and he trained me to be a good man when I grow up,” said Dolph’s son, Adolph III. The little boy spoke about playing with his dad and looking for to spending time with Dolph. He added that now that his father has died, he’s going to make sure he’s the “greatest person you’ll ever know.”
Meanwhile, earlier today, TMZ reported that authorities do not have any “solid suspects” just yet, but they are hoping that their informants will help bring in information that can lead to an arrest.
Memphis PD Sgt. Louis Brownlee tells TMZ … cops have received quite a few tips on Young Dolph’s murder, and while investigators have followed up on that info, there hasn’t been anything to lead to an arrest.

Additionally, WREG News in Memphis also reported that outside of Young Dolph’s memorial yesterday, officers located a stolen Infiniti Q40 in the parking garage of the FedExForum. As police were arresting that driver, another car, a Mercedes, tried speeding out of the garage and instead, hit a pole. The driver of the Mercedes, Guyland Key, attempted to flee the scene but he and his passenger, Antwon Flynn, were both arrested.
“Key had nine outstanding warrants and Flynn had a warrant for theft of property $1,000 or less. Officers also recovered a gun and marijuana,” reported WREG.
