Ja Morant’s season just got started, and it’s already over. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar will have season-ending surgery on his right shoulder.
Morant has a subluxation of his right shoulder during a Saturday training session. According to ESPN, an MRI revealed an underlying labral tear, which will require surgery. Morant will be ready for the 2024-25 season.
With Morant in the lineup, the Grizzlies were 6-3. The Grizzlies sit at 13th in the conference with a 13-23 record.
Just one week after his return to the NBA, Ja Morant was named Western Conference Player of the Week. The award came just ahead of the Grizzlies winning their fourth straight game to close 2023.
Morant has averaged 28.0 points, 9.0 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in his return window. Ja Morant got the Memphis Grizzlies rolling.
