Peloton Sued Over Unlicensed Use Of Cypress Hill, House Of Pain Songs: Report

There is yet another lawsuit against Peloton for its use of music and this time, it’s over Cypress Hill and House of Pain tracks. In recent years, the workout giant has faced a series of litigations over music publishing rights and copyright infringement, and according to Billboard, Peloton’s legal team is facing yet another lawsuit.

Soul Assassins Inc. a company reportedly owned by Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs, fired off court documents last week against Peloton, accusing the company of “unlicensed use of songs by Cypress Hill and House of Pain.”

Tracks include “Insane In The Brain,” “(Rap) Superstar,” “Jump Around,” and others. The songs are being used in their workouts but according to Muggs, he’s not being paid for his contributions—both in production and as a songwriter.

“Peloton’s use of [the songs] in its work-out videos without a license from Soul Assassins is an outrageous, willful infringement because Peloton was sued by a group of music publishers in March of 2019 for doing the exact same thing,” the suit reportedly reads, according to Billboard. “Clearly … Peloton knew unequivocally that it had no right to use any musical composition in its exercise videos without first obtaining a license for one hundred percent of the song.”

Peloton has yet to officially respond to the allegations publicly.

Hasim Rahman Jr. Accuses Jake Paul Of Being A Liar

Just a couple of days ago, Jake Paul hopped on Twitter to reveal that his upcoming fight against Hasim Rahman Jr. would be canceled. This match was going to be held at Madison Square Garden and there was a whole undercard to go along with it. Now, none of the events are happening, and there is a lot being said as to why this cancelation was necessary.

According to Paul, Rahman Jr. was nowhere close to cutting weight for the fight. He needed to be at 205 pounds by fight night, however, he was still 215 pounds up until a few days ago. Paul felt like this was incredibly disrespectful, and he decided to pull the plug on the fight, claiming Rahman Jr. wasn’t living up to his end of the bargain.

Following this news, Rahman Jr. spoke to Fight Hub TV where he gave his side of the story. As you can see down below, the boxer claims that he was fully prepared to get down to 205 prior to the fight, although Paul and his people decided to chicken out. Basically, Rahman Jr. believes Paul was extremely scared and that he was looking for any reason to ditch the bout. Simply put, Rahman Jr. believes Paul is a liar.

Paul was originally going to fight Tommy Fury, although Paul’s team pulled the plug on Fury after he couldn’t get into the United States. Needless to say, Paul and his team have very little patience, and it has ultimately led to a less than ideal predicament for everyone involved.

Yung Joc Questions Why LGBTQIA+ People Feel The Need To “Come Out”

There once was a time when “coming out” shocked the public, but these days, Yung Joc is questioning if such a moment is necessary. Several members of the LGBTQIA+ community can share their “coming out” stories of when they told their loved ones, or the world, of their sexuality. However, in his recent chat with VladTV, Yung Joc revealed that he doesn’t see the purpose of declaring what you like in the bedroom to the public.

“Why do people got to come out?” Joc questions. “I be like, damn, today’s the day you want to come out. Why you have to come out? Because for me, for me, I get a lotta tension when I have this conversation with people. I always ask like, what’s your sexuality got to do with what the f*ck we got goin’ on?”

“Hey guy, you wanna suck some penis? Do that,” Joc added. “That’s your f*ckin’ business. To a woman, you like the same thing, to munch on the same thing that’s between yo legs, do that. That’s your business. Why does everybody have to come out and be like, ‘Hey! I’m gay!’ Like, what the f*ck, okay! Motherf*cka I like smoked crab legs, I’m not out her like, ‘Hey! Comin’ out today. I love smoked crabs legs!”

Joc went on to say that he recognizes that people “come out” because they feel “liberated” and he’s not trying to “bash their truth.”

DeMar DeRozan Signs Lucrative Kobe Bryant Nike Deal

DeMar DeRozan had himself an incredible season with the Chicago Bulls last year. After being counted out with the San Antonio Spurs, DeRozan was able to show fans that he is still an amazing offensive talent with the heart to match. Before Lonzo Ball’s injury, DeRozan was able to help turn the Bulls into a top team in the Eastern Conference, and there is no doubt he is eager to match that success heading into next season.

Throughout his time in the NBA, DeRozan has been signed to Nike. In fact, DeRozan has been a huge representative of the Kobe Bryant line. DeRozan is always wearing Kobe sneakers, and with Nike getting the Kobe deal back, it would only make sense that the Beaverton brand would seek to keep DeMar on board, long term.

According to a new report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, Nike has signed DeRozan to a four-year deal. This lucrative new contract will make sure that DeRozan remains the current face of the Kobe Bryant line. Throughout next season, you will be able to see DeRozan wearing a ton of great Kobe sneakers, and there is no doubt that he will do a great job of keeping Kobe’s sneaker legacy intact.

Nike lost the Kobe line for a few months following a contract dispute with the late legend’s estate. Recently, the two sides were able to come to an agreement, and it has ultimately paved the way for DeRozan to continue supporting one of his heroes.
