A beloved festival in Georgia has been axed by promoters and some are speculating that it is due to the state’s gun laws. The Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta has been a staple in the city since the 1990s, annually hosting the concert with guests that have topped the charts. However, it was recently shared that Music Midtown was canceled this year and ticketholders would receive a refund.

“Hey Midtown fans – due to circumstances beyond our control, Music Midtown will no longer be taking place this year. We were looking forward to reuniting in September and hope we can all get back to enjoying the festival together again soon,” a statement reads.

They continued, “Refunds will be processed automatically within the next 24 hours to the original method of payment. Please allow 7-10 business days for the refund to be processed by your bank. For any questions related to refunds, please visit contact.frontgatetickets.com.”

Because the festival prohibits any and all weapons on its grounds, there have been reports that this is why the two-day concert will not move forward. Georgia has a Constitutional Carry Law, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution stated that pro-gun activists contacted Live Nation to complain since they legally have the right to carry.

With all of the tragic occurrences in public spaces, it was reported that promoters decided to shut things down until further notice. It was also rumored that artists have conditions that weapons aren’t allowed on site, but this cannot be guaranteed. It is unclear how they intend to move forward in the future, and while fans are upset, they seem to understand the circumstances.

It seems like 2022 will bring about two new Air Jordan 11s, including the Midnight Navy colorway below. According to @zsneakerheadz, this new colorway can also be referred to as “Navy Velvet.” Of course, this is because of the fact that the material around the silhouette is made of velvet. It is a really unique look that is surely going to impress sneakerheads once official images make their way to the internet.

This shoe was originally supposed to be released on Black Friday which is on November 25th. Now, it has been revealed that the shoe will actually drop a few weeks earlier on Friday, November 11th for a price of $225 USD. Danny Boy says that Quincy “QD3” Jones III’s recent claim that Michael Jackson once turned down a collaboration with 2Pac due to his loyalty to The Notorious B.I.G. is “lies.” The former Death Row Records singer discussed the rumor during an interview with The Art of Dialogue, over the weekend.

“Shut up, lies,” Danny Boy said in response to Jones’ claim. “I hate to be like that wasn’t said, but I remember myself being in the meeting with Michael Jackson and the All Eyez on Me album being played for him, and Michael went crazy. So I don’t see him saying he messed with Biggie and not 2Pac, or you know what I’m saying. Suge [Knight] and the Jacksons are very close. They were at that time, so that just don’t sound right to me.”

Jones had stated that 2Pac’s camp reached out to Jackson in an attempt to get the legendary singer featured on Pac’s The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. The intent was allegedly to get Jackson to appear on “Thug Nature,” which samples Jackson’s 1983 Thriller hit “Human Nature.”

Jackson had previously collaborated with Biggie on the song, “This Time Around.”

Danny Boy continued: “Why would we put Michael Jackson in some shit like that. He ain’t picking a side, East Coast West Coast. This shit is just going on and on, and it’s getting more bananas. Michael Jackson liked Biggie and Prince liked 2Pac, man stop it.”

His entire life is a string of “daddy duty” moments now that he’s welcomed his eighth child into the world. Recently, Nick Cannon shared the arrival of his son with Bre Tiesi, and according to the media mogul, there may be more Cannon children to come before the end of the year. Cannon has been widely criticized for having eight children with five women, but he has long spoken about wanting a large family, and it doesn’t seem that the mothers mind at all.

Recently, Cannon flexed his bank account to make sure that his twins with Mariah Carey, Moroccan and Monroe, had the times of their lives at a waterpark.

On Instagram, Cannon uploaded a video that showed him enjoying some fun family time with his eldest children. It seems that he rented out the entire park for the day so the famous twins could enjoy their moment away from the public’s prying eyes. 

Cannon’s kids were doing a bit of nagging as they were concerned over him holding onto his phone to record as they went down a waterslide in a three-person tube. He reassured them that dad had things under control and none of it seemed to matter much once they got moving and the screams began.

Kevin Durant reacted to Beyoncé’s decision to remove an ableist slur from the lyrics to her Renaissance song, “Heated,” after facing backlash for its inclusion in the lyrics. The Brooklyn Nets star seemed unhappy that she on caved to pressure in a comment on a post from HipHopnMore on Instagram, Monday.

“This is a joke lol,” wrote in response to the announcement.

In the original version of the song, Beyoncé sings, “Sp***in’ on that ass, sp** on that ass.” The word derives from the term “spastic,” and is often used in a derogative manner to refer to people with disabilities, especially cerebral palsy.

After several days of backlash since the album’s release, Beyoncé’s team provided a statement to Variety on Monday reading, “The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced.”

Beyoncé’s decision to change the lyrics follows in the footsteps of Lizzo, who made the same decision after facing a similar controversy for the slur’s inclusion in her song “Grrrls,” earlier this year.

Beyoncé also came under fire from Kelis, who called the legendary singer out for interpolating her track, “Milkshake,” for the song, “Energy.” Kelis says that she was never asked permission and labeled the act “theft.”

Mystikal, real name Michael Tyler, is facing serious new charges. The New Orleans rapper was booked into Ascension Parish Jail on rape and assault charges on Sunday where it appears he could be until his trial. Per WAFB, officials stated that the judge denied Mystikal bond.

Officials also revealed more details surrounding his arrest. According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) spokesperson, police responded to a local hospital where they met with the alleged victim over claims of sexual assault. The alleged victim was interviewed before police observed the minor injuries sustained from the alleged assault. Police ultimately ID’d Mystikal as a primary suspect in the case. On Sunday, July 31st, police arrested Mystikal and booked him on several felony charges including first-degree rape, simple robbery, domestic abuse battery – strangulation, false imprisonment, and simple criminal damage to property. There’s still limited information surrounding the details of the alleged crime. 

Mystikal previously faced sex crime allegations. In the early 2000s, he pleaded guilty to sexual battery after his hairstylist accused him of assaulting her. In 2016, he was charged with first-degree rape, though the charges were later dismissed.

So far, there haven’t been any statements from Mystikal’s legal team surrounding his recent arrest.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are easily the greatest quarterback and tight end duo of all time. These two were able to win four championships together and you always knew they were going to be dangerous when sharing the field. Whether it be with the New England Patriots or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady and Gronk had the juice to destroy opposing defenses at the drop of a hat.

Now, Gronk is officially retired from the game of football, all while Brady is entering his 23rd season at the age of 45. Brady is going to have to get through this season without Gronk, however, he still has plenty of weapons to make a run at a record-breaking eighth Super Bowl title.

With that being said, Gronk is still a big story heading into the Bucs season, and recently, Brady was asked about Gronk and how the team feels about the former star. In typical Brady fashion, he offered few words, however, he did make sure to praise one of his best friends from his football career.

“Everyone here loves Rob,” Brady said simply.

Gronk has been adamant that he does not want to come back, although if he changes his mind, we’re sure he will be welcomed back, with open arms.

The death of Tupac Shakur during the peak of his career was one that rocked Hip Hop, so much so that his reign is still dissected by fans today. The hitmaker would lose his life following a Las Vegas drive-by with Suge Knight by his side, but the Death Row executive would go on to recover from his injuries. In a recent interview, Tupac’s former girlfriend Desiree Smith spoke candidly about her time with the rapper and made revelations that haven’t been discussed in decades. 

In one clip of her interview with The Art of Dialogue, Smith revisited when Pac signed his deal with Death Row and recalled the rapper’s immediate reaction after Suge Knight and his attorney left the room.

“It was a little crazy because—and I don’t mean this literally, but I guess, once they left, he was excited, but he did make this comment where he was like, ‘I just signed my soul to the devil.'”

“It was the only person that rocked with him when everybody else that he had made money with, did business with, pretty much turned they back,” she said. “Jada tried to get some of the money, but she didn’t have all the money to get him out of there, so, it was his relief.” However, Smith believes that had circumstances been different, Pac wouldn’t have gone that route.

“Although, it seems that after he got out, they became good friends,” she recalled of Tupac and Knight. “But that was the mood and everything that he did, damn-near his whole life, was to make sure that he put his mother and his family in a good position for life so that they would be well. And, you know, he was going to do whatever it took.”

Lupe Fiasco went into detail regarding his issues with his former label, Atlantic Records, on Twitter, Monday. The Drill Music in Zion rapper had been responding to a tweet from a fan who had claimed that Fiasco refused to “conform” to the label’s expectations.

“Not accurate,” Fiasco replied to the fan. “I was comfortable making pop records. The issue was who controlled those records and what the ownership and splits were. Atlantic would only promote my records if they owned a large portion of them or if I signed a 360 deal. I gave Bruno Mars Just The Way You Are.”

When the fan thanked him for the clarification, Fiasco elaborated that it was the label that decided not to abide by the agreed-upon contracts: “The issue was never my ability to make hit or pop records. The issue wasn’t even the business per se. My contracts were solid. It’s when the label didn’t want to abide by the contracts anymore and started throwing shitty little curveballs out of FOMO and greed. All bad after that.”

Fiasco signed with Atlantic back in 2005 after having a good word put in from Jay-Z. In the years afterward, both Fiasco and Atlantic maintained a tumultuous relationship, with the rapper even referring to it as “Bad” in a 2014 interview with SiriusXM.

In more tweets, he continued: “It’s a team. Let win as a team. They were calling fouls on our own plays AFTER we already won the game!! I was like WTF are y’all doing??? After The Cool I was done. I stuck around to complete my contract but I checked out in 09.

“I only put this out there again & again cuz folks think I be full of ego and or that I’m some hard to work with artist etc. but I’ve been in some deeply wack situations in this business that took all kinds of adjustments to stay sane and progress. I protect my peace at all costs.”
