Lil Wayne Smoked 15 Blunts When He Was In The Studio With Machine Gun Kelly

Machine Gun Kelly’s new Hulu documentary Life In Pink came out yesterday, which tells the story of his pivot to pop punk. Possibly the most interesting part of the whole thing is his recollection of collaborating with Lil Wayne for “Drug Dealer,” and the way the iconic rapper smoked 15 blunts.

“I pressed play on the song, he’s like, ‘Is that what we’re doing?’” MGK recalled. “‘Yeah.’ He’s like, ‘Alright. You guys got time?’ ‘Yeah, for sure.’ He goes in the courtyard, smokes 15 blunts. He just takes each, his eyes are closed just playing the track over and over again. He comes back in the studio and we can see him in the courtyard. We’re just kind of sitting there amazed, like that’s the GOAT forming his thoughts around a track that we made.”

He continued, “He comes back in at 5:30 in the morning. He’s like, ‘Y’all ready?’ He goes in the booth and he lays his sh*t like, one time. It’s just like, one time.”

Kelly previously told a similar story about working with Wayne, minus the details about blunts.

Apparently MGK’s flirtation with pop punk is coming to an end for now, because a couple of months ago he said he’ll be returning to rap music. “I’m going to make a rap album for myself, for no other reason, no point to prove, no chip on my shoulder,” he said in an interview.

Kyrie Irving Nets Drama May Not Be Over, Says NBA Execs

Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets seemed close to divorce just a couple of days ago. Last night, however, Irving and the Nets reached a solution as Kyrie decided to opt into his contract. Now, Kyrie will play at least one more year with the Nets at a salary of $37 million per year. It’s a deal that works for both sides, and it should be interesting to see how things play out.

While it may seem like this saga is over, NBA insider Brian Windhorst is reporting that this might not be the case. Based on his sources around the league, including NBA executives, there is this feeling that the Kyrie drama will continue, albeit in many different ways. There is even a sense that Irving will sign with the Lakers next year once his Nets contract is up.

“I think it turned down the heat in at least kept the Nets with two star players, with all of their options for next year alive,” Windhorst said. “And, boy, was that not what some people, agents and executives thought. They don’t think this is over. Now, Kyrie tried to make it sound like it was over. ‘I’ll see you in the fall’ sounds like it’s over. The people I talk to in the league are skeptical that Kyrie is going to be all for one and one for all on this.”

Kyrie is one of the most unpredictable players in the entire league, so any solutions should be taken with a grain of salt right now. There is a real possibility that he and the Nets get into more hijinks this season, and if that’s the case, then it could be a long season for the franchise.

Cardi B Gives Lil Kim Her Flowers With “Hot Sh*t” Cover Art

It’s been over four years since Cardi B released her debut album,Invasion Of Privacy, and she hasn’t rushed towards releasing her sophomore album. Still, fans have been demanding for her to come through with the project for years at this point. Cardi’s dropped off a handful of singles like “WAP” ft. The rapper announced the single on Sunday night before revealing the featured artists and cover art on Monday. Fans quickly noticed that the photo actually references promo photos from Lil Kim’s The Notorious K.I.M. era in 2000.

Cardi has previously expressed her love for Lil Kim in the past. In December, Cardi called out the people who were consistently disrespecting Lil Kim and mocking her looks. “I’m tired of it and it’s heartbreaking…She’s is so sweet ,supportive and a REAL FUCKIN LEGEND,” she wrote on Twitter, before revealing that she anticipates working with Kim in the future. “When I collab wit her is going to be at the right time & the right song.I don’t rush BIG MOMENTS!”

Adrian Peterson Vs. Le’Veon Bell Boxing Match In The Works

Over the past year or so, Le’Veon Bell has been fairly adamant about wanting to get into the boxing space. He has yet to fight anyone, however, he is very certain that he can give a good fighter a run for their money. YouTube star Austin McBroom is supposedly hosting a big boxing event at the Crypto.Com arena next month, and Bell is going to be a part of the card.

According to TMZ, there is one issue here and that is the fact that Bell still doesn’t have an opponent. No one has signed on to battle it out with Bell, and it has left promoters scrambling. Now, there could be a solution at play that involves another NFL legend.

Of course, a lot still needs to be worked out, especially since Peterson hadn’t expressed much interest in boxing up until this point. Chi Modu’s Estate Files Lawsuit Against Universal Music Over Tupac Shakur Photo

The estate of the legendary hip-hop photographer Chi Modu has filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group regarding a page on the record label’s website titled, “Best Tupac Songs: 26 Essential Tracks.” The lawsuit claims that the post features one of Modu’s iconic photos of Shakur atop the page, but credits the image to the Universal Music Archives.

The estate claims to have sent a cease and desist to UMG, but that the “Defendants failed to meaningfully respond,” according to the lawsuit. The complaint alleges copyright infringement by UMG and 10 unnamed and unidentified co-defendants.

“Chi Modu’s photography captured moments of profundity and grace,” Scott Burroughs, an attorney for the estate, told Billboard in a statement. “While it does not surprise me that it would appeal to Universal, we are disappointed that the company did not reach out to the Estate to procure a license before exploiting Mr. Modu’s work on its commercial website. We look forward to addressing this infringement in court.”

Modu’s estate is seeking an award of all profits and fees, as well as the removal of the photograph, and damages. Billboard reports that statutory damages for copyright infringement can reach up to $150,000 per violation.

Modu is best known for his photographs of Shakur as well as The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Nas, Snoop Dogg, N.W.A, and many more. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 54.

Dana White Gives Sobering Update On McGregor Vs. Mayweather Rematch

Five years ago, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather decided to meet in the boxing ring for what was a very interesting match. While it wasn’t the most entertaining fight of all time, there was certainly some morbid curiosity in terms of how Conor would handle a new discipline of fighting.

As expected, Mayweather won the match although it took him until the 10th round to put McGregor away. Since that time, these two have been going back and forth over a rematch, although it is mostly Conor who is interested. Mayweather has been looking at a multitude of other opportunities, and there is no doubt that this has frustrated the MMA legend.

Recently, some renewed interest in a rematch was shown on McGregor’s part. UFC President Dana White got to speak to TMZ Sports about this newfound interest, and as he explained, there is pretty much no chance these two ever fight against each other again. White has a pretty strong say in what his fighters do outside of the octagon, and as far as Mayweather Vs. McGregor is concerned, he has no interest in making it happen or even facilitating such an event.

This is going to be sad news for McGregor, however, it is probably for the best. He is trying to make a UFC comeback and boxing would simply derail that right now.

Let us know if you want to see a Mayweather Vs. McGregor rematch, in the comments below.

Drake Celebrates Latest Billboard Accomplishment: “God’s Work”

Some may have predicted the downfall of Drake with the release of Certified Lover Boybut his latest body of work is proof that he’s going to sell records, no matter what. He announced the album a few hours before it dropped and shocked the world when it became widely available on DSPs. Honestly, Nevermind leaps into the sound of dance music with minimal rapping. Some people counted it out immediately after it dropped but evidently, Drake’s going to do numbers regardless.
