Teyana Taylor Responds to Viral Video Alleging She Abused Drugs
Teyana Taylor is putting the rumors to rest.
The R&B singer has shut down a viral TikTok video alleging that she was hospitalized for a drug overdose and that her husband Iman Shumpert was unfaithful.
Last week, TikTok user @klatschhh claimed that an unnamed singer with a “TV show and two daughters” had a “mental breakdown” after her husband–who competed on “Dancing with the Stars”–allegedly cheated on her. The account, which reenacts “unconfirmed stories and parodies,” went on to claim that she was “acting erratic” and abusing drugs.
The anonymous tipster, who allegedly worked as an assistant to the singer, says she walked in and found the woman laying on the floor “from too much candy.” While the singer announced that she was hospitalized because of exhaustion, the report suggests otherwise.

There was speculation that the video was referencing Teyana and Iman, especially since photos of the couple’s actual home were used. In November, Teyana was rushed to the emergency room and forced to cancel her Connecticut show due to exhaustion.
“My team & I tried everything down to the very last second to get me out on that stage, but my body simply just gave out, which actually started a few days ago,” Teyana said at the time. “SHUT DOWN, my body actually low key betrayed me cause ah bitch was tryna get on that stage.”
After the video went viral, Teyana responded to the rumors. In an Instagram caption on her original post, she called the accusations “cap” and threatened to take legal action against those who spread the false claims.
“The person who sent in this CAP ass TikTok story is a fool, the person who ‘re-enacted’ this CAP ass story is a fool (she better have her court coin ready) but the people who believed the CAP ass story are the biggest fools smh,” she wrote. “Y’all allow a YT girl to pull some shit like this during Black History Month???”
Teyana said that not even her husband could convince her to do drugs. “NOBODY AND I MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOBODY CAN MAKE PETUNIA OVERDOSE ON A DAMN THING,” she added. “I’d kill @imanshumpert fine ass, put him in a nice suit and bury him my damn self before I EVER let him or ANYBODY to push me to do drugs or take myself out.”
She slammed the “clout chasers” for “preying on black positive families that are thriving.” Added Teyana, “Ppl are dying, police are still killing our brothers, our brothers are still killing our brothers, Black women are still the most disrespected & unprotected women in the world.”
She continued to shut down the malicious lies while defending her family. “Y’all know I stay out the way and mind my business. But I will ABSOLUTELY defend myself and take out the TIME to address a rumor like this,” she commented on The Shade Room.
“Attaching my personal home & likeness in the background of a video that is spreading FALSE & dangerous rumors about my family & I is damn near like saying our names LOUD & CLEAR. So wether I address it or not it’s damned if you do damned if you dont so f**k it but don’t ever play with my family.”

The Best Vinyl Releases Of February 2022
Anybody who thought the vinyl resurgence was just a fad was mistaken: The industry has experienced a legitimate revival. As a result, music fans are interested in physical media in ways they may not have if the decades-old medium hasn’t made a comeback. That doesn’t mean everybody is listening to just their parents’ old music, though. That’s part of it, sure, thanks to rereleases that present classic albums in new ways. A vital part of the renewed vinyl wave, though, is new projects being released as records, of which there are plenty.
Whatever you might be into, each month brings a new slew of vinyl releases that has something for everybody. Some stand out above the rest, naturally, so check out some of our favorite vinyl releases of February below.
Beach House — Once Twice Melody
Once Twice Melody is Beach House’s first album since 2018’s 7, and now the expansive project has gotten an expansive vinyl box set edition; check it out in the unboxing video above. In her review of the album, Uproxx’s Caitlin White notes, “Once Twice Melody might expand their palette a bit, but it’s no experimental reach or brand new direction. Why mess with perfection? Their gauzy soundscapes are vague enough to sustain quite a bit of emotional projection, but there’s depth of meaning lurking within the songs that few other bands yield.”

Tkay Maidza — Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 2 & Vol. 3
The Last Year Was Weird trilogy came to an end with the final two volumes, which are now available in a gorgeous gold pressing, exclusive to Vinyl Me, Please. Maidza recently told Uproxx of naming the series, “The term ‘weird’ is the way I described the plunge of going into the deep end and knowing that where I was. What I wanted was like a big leap forward, but I would have to start from nothing again. I was at that lowest point every day: ‘What the hell is going on?’ But in a way, I always had a feeling that it would work out because this was the only way it could be.”

Dr. Dre And EPMD’s Erick Sermon Are Collaborating For The First Time
Dr. Dre has already been having a busy year. After joining Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige on stage at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, his song “Still D.R.E.” with Snoop Dogg became their first video to reach a billion views on YouTube. A couple of weeks before that, he collaborated with Eminem for a GTA Online Song “Gospel.” Now, he’s working with EPMD’s Erick Sermon, also known as the Green-Eyed Bandit, according to Sermon’s recent Instagram post, which gave shoutouts to a bunch of his friends and collaborators he’s been in the studio with.
“I got to L.A a day before the #superbowl ..then 2 days after that was his bday…after that .. the #sagacontinues,” he wrote. We worked on my new project #DYNAMICDUOS […] Thanks for the opportunity. Well .. here it is […] Thank @focus3dots @coachbernard @mikecity ….. @rance1500 @saweetie @thebrandengine @joellejames […] My mental health has been a factor for awhile .. thank u @drdre for changing that. # beautiful blessings.”
It’s their first time working together after 30 years of friendship. Hopefully this project Dynamics Duos will be finished and released sometime soon.
