Kodak Black Responds To Lil Duval’s Hot Take Comparing Him To Kendrick Lamar

Comedian Lil Duval shook up hip-hop Twitter on Tuesday morning when he fired off a post about how he thinks that Kodak Black and Kendrick Lamar are on comparable levels in terms of their lyrics. The red-hot take earned thousands of responses from fans who either agreed with his sentiment or brutally differed from his viewpoint.

As people continue to react to Duval’s take, which has Kendrick and Kodak both trending on Twitter, Florida’s Project Baby has officially responded to the debate, commenting on The Shade Room’s post about the tweet.

“I understand it be controversial Shit behind me but I’ll appreciate it if y’all just worry bout me Fa my talent & not da other shit on social media !!! Thank You,” wrote Kodak on Instagram.

After Lil Duval made the comparison, fans started to debate whether he has a point or not, arguing that if Kodak’s lyrics were delivered with Kendrick’s flows, he would be respected more.

A few days ago, Kodak responded to a fan who tweeted him about his sexual assault case in South Carolina, revealing that the case is closed and he never had to pay any settlement. Perhaps that’s still on his mind judging from his response to the Kendrick comparisons. While controversies have often overshadowed his career, Yak is happy that people are finally starting to appreciate him and his talent.

What do you think? Are Kodak and Kendrick in the same lane lyrically? Or is Lil Duval’s take a bad one? Check out his tweets below.

Insane Video Shows CFL Players Jumping In Stands To Fight Fans Who Allegedly Spit Beer On Them

Ever since a fateful Detroit Pistons fan thought it would be wise to start a fight with multiple Indiana Pacers players (including, but not limited to Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest and Jermaine O’Neal) by throwing a drink on them after a hard foul in 2004, igniting the melee famously known as “The Malice at the Palace,” sports fans have been waiting for the next physical altercation between players and spectators.

There have been verbal altercations, of course. Russell Westbrook and LeBron James know all too well about dealing with rowdy, line-crossing hecklers and back in 2018, a New England Patriots fan threw a beer in the face of Kansas City Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill after the speedster scored a long touchdown. Kyrie Irving was also the subject of a thrown beverage earlier this year, when a Boston Celtics fan chucked a Dasani water bottle his way following a Nets’ playoff victory.

But fans throwing bottles, or spilling drinks on players are one thing. Players fighting back is another.

Last Sunday, following the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 27-19 victory over the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL’s Eastern Final, things got ugly.

In an insane video captured by a fan in the stands, Toronto DB Chris Edwards jumped into the stands to confront a Hamilton fan who allegedly spit beer on him during the game. As Edwards searches for the alleged beer spitter, the fan shoves helmet-and-shoulder-pad-clad Edwards, prompting the University of Idaho product to throw a punch.

Fortunately for both parties, the punch did not connect, and both Toronto WR Dejon Brissett and stadium security intervened before the situation could get any uglier.

Bleacher Report reports that the CFL and Toronto Police are investigating the matter, but no further information has provided yet.

What do you think of this wild scene at Toronto’s BMO Field? Let us know down in the comments.

Roddy Ricch Joins Elton John, Mariah Carey, And Cardi B With A Diamond Certified Single

Lately, everyone’s talking about Diamond Certification. Just last week, Cardi B became the first-ever female rapper ever with two Diamond certified tracks and yesterday, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” claimed Diamond Certification as well (and surpassed over a billion streams, natch.) But what exactly constitutes Diamond Certification, you might ask? It’s an official Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certification that signifies an album or single that has sold over ten million units. So essentially, it’s a 10 times Platinum release. And today, we have a new friend in the Diamond business.

Roddy Ricch definitely has the mojo deals coming his way now that his single “The Box” is officially Diamond Certified. The 23-year-old Compton rapper’s track joins such illustrious company as Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” Kanye West’s “Stronger,” Adele’s “Hello,” and Pharrell’s “Happy.” He was presented with the plaque yesterday.

But he won’t be resting his laurels on the new plaque for too long, as his next album, Live Life Fast, is set to drop before the end of the year. So if you’re looking for any last-minute stocking stuffer ideas, you could help the man on the way to his next Diamond certification.

Live Life Fast is due 12/17 on Atlantic.

Roddy Ricch is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Nick Cannon’s Youngest Son Zen Dies At Five Months Old

Entertainment Tonight reports that television host Nick Cannon‘s youngest son, five-month-old Zen, recently died. Cannon announced the infant’s death during his show’s opening monologue, showing the audience a photo of Zen and breaking down as he described the conditions that led to his loss.

Born in June to Cannon and Alyssa Scott, Zen — Cannon’s seventh child — suffered from hydrocephalus, which describes the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. This causes pressure inside the skull which can lead to a number of symptoms, including disability and death. It can be treated with a shunt, which is placed in the skull through surgery, however, despite doctors treating Zen with this method, things took a turn for the worse.

“Ultimately, it was cancer in the brain and the tumor began to grow a lot faster,” Cannon explained. “This weekend, I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time I could spend with Zen. We woke up on Sunday and was like, ‘I feel like I want to go to the water.’ We got a chance to go to the ocean.”

He also explained that show business is “all he knows,” which is why he’s back at work so soon after. While a pre-taped episode aired on Monday, the tapings he was scheduled to shoot were canceled and he’ll be taking time off from the show for the time being.

Jack Harlow Credits The ‘Harry Potter’ Books For Making Him A Better Lyricist

Jack Harlow has come a long way since he first started making music. In fact, he recently shared a photo of his 2018 tour that showed less than 20 people in the crowd. That’s why it was especially meaningful for him to be named Hitmaker Of Tomorrow by Variety, who awarded the rapper at their star-studded Hitmaker Brunch over the weekend. While on stage, Harlow told the crowd that he credits his love for the written word to his childhood days of reading Harry Potter books.

Harlow walked on stage to accept the award and during his speech, the rapper shared a story about his youth. He recalled the time when he was in second grade and he won a book-reading contest thanks the reading all the Harry Potter books he could find:

“So we get to the end of the school year and there’s a big assembly. The entire school is there, in my memory at least it feels like a stadium full of people. The climax of this assembly is the staff announcing the top three students who had read the most, or at least, had been credited the most points for reading. In third place they announce some fifth grader, he goes up and they give him his trophy. Second place, another fifth grader — he goes up, they give him a trophy. And in first place, a second grader, they called my name. And I had beat the entire school. I won by a landslide, I probably had quadruple whatever second place had. […] It was a competition and it brought out the competitor in me, which is a big part of the genre I’m in. All that reading is what made me the writer I am now and I’m pretty sure it’s what going to make me the hitmaker of tomorrow.”

Someone Paid Nearly Half A Million Dollars To Be Snoop Dogg’s Virtual Neighbor

Most of us have neighbors in real life, but some of us have virtual neighbors, too. Such is the case for Snoop Dogg, who just got a new neighbor who paid nearly half a million dollars for the privilege of owning some virtual space adjacent to Snoop’s virtual space.

Snoop owns property in The Sandbox, which is described as “a virtual world where players can build, own, and monetize their gaming experiences in the Ethereum blockchain using SAND, the main utility token of the platform.” On December 2, to celebrate Snoop’s Sandbox presence, a sale of virtual spaces near Snoop’s was launched. During that sale, a plot next to Snoop’s was purchased for 70,903.8222 SAND, which at the time of purchase was worth about $458,038. As of this post, the current value of the SAND used to make the purchase is approximately $382,906.

Snoop shared a tweet about the purchase and wrote, “Won’t u be my neighbor.”

Snoop is currently in the midst of launching a significant partnership with The Sandbox, as outlined on the platform’s website. The rapper is building a re-creation of his real-life Diamond Bar, California mansion, as well as a venue that will host concerts and other live events.

Floyd Mayweather Belittles Canelo Alvarez

Floyd Mayweather has gone up against some pretty amazing fighters throughout his career, with Canelo Alvarez being one of them. At the time, Alvarez was a young fighter while Mayweather was leaving his prime. In the end, Mayweather dominated Canelo, leading to the Mexican fighter’s only loss. Since that time, Canelo has expressed interest in a rematch, but Mayweather simply does not seem to care.

On Sunday, Mayweather spoke about Canelo after Gervonta Davis defeated Isaac Cruz. Mayweather was not very complimentary while speaking about Alvarez, and in fact, he even belittled the legendary boxer. Floyd doesn’t think Canelo is all that great, and that much of his success has been manufactured by easy opponents.

“But, you take a guy like Canelo (Alvarez), this guy can pick and choose who he wants to fight. And I’m going to tell you all the truth about Canelo…” Mayweather said. “That mother f*cker easy, man. Cakewalk. Easy. Y’all sitting up here praising this dude. This dude was nothing. I was almost forty years older when I cooked this dude. Easy.”

Floyd’s comments are controversial, however, that is exactly what you can expect from Mayweather. He has never been one to compliment his opponents, and Alvarez is no different, despite all of his recent success.

Kid Cudi Confirms Meryl Streep “Is Fam Now” After Meeting Her At “Don’t Look Up” Premiere

72-year-old Meryl Streep has had a career like few others. Over the years, the actress has appeared in beloved classics such as Mamma Mia!The Devil Wears PradaDeath Becomes Her, and Sophie‘s Choice, amassing a fan base who absolutely adores her. Her most recent project, a forthcoming Netflix original titled Don’t Look Up, sees her step into the shoes of the President of the United States.

The Adam McKay-directed film features Streep as President Janie Orlean, whose failure to show much concern for the “impending planet killer” that’s been brought to her attention plays a major role in the upcoming film. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jonah Hill also star, with names like Timothee Chalamet, Ariana Grande, and Kid Cudi making up the extended cast.

Speaking of Cudi, following the recent premiere event for Don’t Look Up, the 37-year-old couldn’t say enough positive things about his first face-to-face interaction with the Kramer vs. Kramer actress. “I met Meryl Streep and she showed me so much love about Don’t Look Up,” he told his Twitter followers on December 5th.

“I f*ckin adore her so it was a VERY big deal. Gassed. Meryl is fam now.” In another post, the “Sad People” singer said, “when we took the group picture Meryl walked up and was like ‘Cudddiiiii’” followed by a trail of emojis clearly expressing his excitement over the special moment.

When someone asks how it’s possible that Streep and Cudi made a movie together without having met, a fan explained, “when you’re not in any scenes with them, it’s possible that you never met. Different actors are called to set on different days – it’s unlikely that they shot their scenes on the same day.” The recording artist quote tweeted it, “Bingo!”

The Ohio-born star has said that he’s feeling especially good about the upcoming release, which is hitting select theatres on December 10th, and Netflix on December 24th. “Make sure y’all check it out.”

Curren$y Delays Alchemist-Produced “Half Moon Bay” Until 2022

If you’re listing the most prolific rappers of the last two decades, there no way Curren$y isn’t close to the top of the list.

Since signing to Master P’s No Limit Records in 2002, bouncing to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment in 2004 and establishing his own Jet Life Recordings imprint under Warner Bros in 2011, Spitta has recorded and released an inhuman amount of music, proving that the now-40-year-old has an unparalleled work ethic and endless stream of some of the best raps hip hop has to offer.

Back in August, Curren$y revealed his plans to release seven new projects before the end of 2021. Each project was to be produced a different producer and according to the man himself, would be released every couple of weeks through the end of December.

And until today (December 7), Spitta was right on schedule. Releasing Highest In Charge on August 27, Matching Rolexes on September 17, Still Stoned On Ocean on October 8, Regatta on October 29 and Land Air Sea on November 29, the New Orleans native was building up to arguably the most anticipated project of the seven-album schedule—Half Moon Bayproduced entirely by hip hop legend and longtime Curren$y collaborator, The Alchemist.

Unfortunately, Half Moon Bay will not arrive on December 10 as originally scheduled.

In a recent Instagram post featuring a photo of he and the Alfredo producer, Curren$y revealed that Al asked him to move the Half Moon Bay release date until 2022, and that he obliged.

“Al wants to wait until next year y’all…. that’s my brother so I’m already in the car sliding with him on whatever he wants to do,” he wrote. “Don’t trip we got y’all covered.”

While a delay will certainly precipitate disappointment, Spitta ensured that he and Alchemist had fans “covered.” What exactly that means is yet to be seen, but with Alchemist and ALC Records also dropping a complete vinyl and cassette collection for his 2019 mixtape with Action Bronson, Lamb Over Rice on December 10, it’s clear both parties didn’t want any overlap when it comes to Half Moon Bay

Keep an eye out for Half Moon Bay in 2022 and let us know which recent Curren$y project is your favorite down in the comments.

Air Jordan 3 “Neapolitan” Rumored Release Date Unveiled

Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan 3 remains one of the best Jumpman sneakers of all time. The shoe came out at the perfect time as Nike was looking to save themselves from losing Michael Jordan. In the end, Hatfield and Jordan enjoyed a long relationship of making shoes with one another, and to this day, the Jordan 3 remains one of the best sneakers ever placed on the market. With that being said, it should come as absolutely no surprise that Jordan Brand would want to release more colorways, moving forward.

One such offering has been shown off by @zsneakerheadz on Instagram, and as you can see, it is inspired by ice cream. The shoe has been appropriately named “Neapolitan” which is a reference to the ice cream that combines strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla. In the photoshop mockup below, we can see that the sneaker has a white leather base, some brown elephant print, and a pink midsole. All of these elements create a dope women’s exclusive that should prove to be popular upon release.

The rumored release date for the shoe has been set for May 13th of next year, however, this has yet to be confirmed by Jordan Brand. Stay tuned to HNHH, as we will bring you the latest on these, as soon as more information is made available.
