Over the past few years, Nike and Jordan Brand have dealt with a lot of bootlegs on the market. This is especially true with the Nike SB Dunk Low which recently got infringed upon by Warren Lotas. Nike went to war over Lotas’ shoe and they eventually came out the winners. When it comes to the Air Jordan 1, there have been plenty of other bootlegs, as well, and Jordan Brand has had enough. In fact, Nike recently took to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where they tried to officially register the shoe’s design as a trademark.

Just a few days ago, Nike got their wish as the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 1 Low, and Air Jordan 1 Low SE all became officially registered trademarks. Now, no one can copy the shoe’s design and get away with it so easily. The trademark is for the design without the swoosh, which means if any bootleg contains a variation of the Nike logo, it will immediately be flagged for copyright infringement.

This is a huge legal win for the Beaverton brand as they will now have greater control over their intellectual property. The Air Jordan 1 is a silhouette that is often copied and now, there will be significantly less of those bootlegs on the market.

What was meant to be a time of celebration for Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena has become daily hits of rumors and speculation. The reality television couple recently announced that they are expecting the second child together and the news came on the heels of public arguments. There was a hiccup when Safaree declared that he was divorcing his wife months ago, but after making a public apology, they seemed to be back on track.

However, weeks ago it was shared that the pair had officially filed for divorce, and more has surfaced regarding their split. It seems that they are at odds over custody of their children and it was also rumored that Safaree wanted to be present in the hospital room when Erica gives birth to Baby No. 2.

According to Madame Noire, more gossip is being spread about the Love  & Hip Hop couple’s split. Amid conversations about possible infidelities on Safaree’s part, the outlet states that there have also been rumors about the rapper getting another woman pregnant. That information was also reportedly shared by The Neighborhood Talk, but their post about the information has since been deleted.

Meanwhile, Erica has asked for peace during this time. Recently, she shared that she was admitted to the hospital and there were reports that it was because she feared going into labor early. Check out a few posts below.

Ever since returning from injury, Donovan Mitchell has been having himself an incredible playoff run. The Utah Jazz star is carrying his team night in and night out, and with him in the lineup, the Jazz have yet to lose a game. In the first two games against the Los Angeles Clippers, Mitchell is averaging 41 points, which is definitely unexpected. His performances have many believing in the Jazz hype and at this point, they look primed and ready for an NBA Finals appearance.

Today, NBA legend Magic Johnson gave his opinion on Mitchell, and as you can expect, Magic likes what he sees. In fact, Johnson went so far as to say that Mitchell should be compared to future Hall of Famers like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and even Steph Curry.

“Donovan Mitchell is a bonafide superstar, scoring 45 points in Game 1 and 37 points in Game 2! We have to start mentioning his name more with the KDs, LeBrons, Stephs, etc,” Johnson wrote.

Mitchell still has a lot to prove before he gets on the same level as the LeBron’s and KDs, however, there is no denying that he has the ability to carry a team. If the Jazz were to win the title this year, then Mitchell’s legacy would be cemented, and Johnson’s tweet would be affirmed.

While his wife remains embroiled in a social media scandal, John Legend is making movie moves. In 2008, the world lost one of its most celebrated comedians after Bernie Mac unexpectedly passed away. TheKings of Comedy icon had been involved in the entertainment industry for decades, touring with his standup routines, playing parts in “hood classic” films, as well as starring in his own sitcom, The Bernie Mac Show.

It looks as if the life of Bernard Jeffrey McCullough will be coming to the silver screen after a revelation was made at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival.

While speaking on a panel, The Hollywood Reporter shared that Mike Jackson, John Legend’s producting partner, stated that Get Lifted, Legend’s production company, had plans to work on a biopic about Bernie Mac’s life. “We just partnered with Bernie Mac’s estate to cover Bernie Mac’s story,” Jackson said.

It was reportedly news to Legend, as well, because he was surprised by the information. Jackson added that his partner wasn’t aware of the deal just yet and the possibility of sharing Mac’s life story was something they’re “very excited about.” The finalization also reported that very day so it wasn’t news that anyone was sitting on.

“Look at you breaking news over here,” Legend quipped. The singer also stated that it was like a “full circle” moment, considering that Legend appeared in Mac’s final film, Soul Men along with Samuel L. When rappers get famous and their bank accounts begin to add a few extra zeroes, they often like to gift their families with certain luxuries. We’ve often reported on artists buying their loved ones gifts, homes, and cars, but not everything is expensive. It’s not always necessary for your loved ones to drip in designer brands while riding around in $100,000 whips, especially if those relatives and friends are young people just making their way in life.

Recently, Yung Bleu wanted to do something nice for his sister so he surprised her with a new car. What was meant to be a kind gesture made the rapper the subject of ridicule because he bought his sister an affordable ride and not something more expensive. Bleu defended the purchase with a lengthy explanation.

“SORRY I DNT NO WHATS THE POPPIN REGULAR CAR BRANDS I BEEN DRIVIN FOREIN SH*T THE LAST 5 years,” he reportedly wrote. “CHRYSLERS WAS INSTYLE TO ME BACK WEN I WAS BROKE.”

“My sister ain’t even got a driver license lol,” Bleu continued. “I got her a starter whip to see how she take care of it. Told her make it thru her first 2 years of college ima get a her sum exclusive that SHE EARN. why would I buy her a Benz ‘EVEN THO THEY CHEAP TO ME ‘ but what happen when she can’t even afford a oil change.”

“I could have bought her a Bentley if I wanted to,” he added. “But nah.. I see why a lotta y’all struggling tryna look rich Instead of actually being wealthy. NBA 2K21 is one of the most popular sports games on the market right now and if you have the game, then you would know that there are plenty of customization options for your character. This is especially true when it comes to sneakers, where 2K has truly exceled over the years. For instance, 2K had a big promotion with Nike last year where various tournaments would lead to real life sneakers for those who did well. Now, 2K is teaming up with Puma for a new colorway of the Puma Court Rider.

As you can see in the images below, this shoe has a mostly white upper all while teal, pink, and yellow are placed throughout. There is even a “2K21” logo which is placed across both tongues, which helps brings the motif together. This shoe was first made available to the first 21 people who signed a Puma endorsement deal in their My Career mode. It’s a pretty unique way of doing things although it’s certainly a nice incentive for gamers.
