Lil Uzi Vert is finally going public with his girlfriend JT, who performs as one half of the ultra-successful rap duo the City Girls. The two have been linked for the last few months, keeping things cryptic on social media and making their fans guess whether or not they’re actually a couple. It turns out that they were keeping things low-key all along, sharing new pictures on Instagram on Sunday night. However, Uzi’s move to go public with JT was seemingly prompted by one of his ex-girlfriends, Brittany Byrd, who appeared to claim that the rapper was still texting her and trying to get back together.

Leaking text messages where Uzi, saved as “Vert” on Brittany’s phone, claims to still call her every day and telling her that they’re “still together”, Byrd tried to embarrass JT by insinuating that she’s nothing but a side chick. However, Uzi himself went on to dispel that notion, choosing JT as his main.

“JT is the one,” he tweeted on Sunday night. When someone suggested to him that he’s letting his real soulmate go by claiming JT, Uzi shot down Brittany by saying, “I had 2 be real with myself I love JT and y’all will 2.” Then, he affectionately called her his “Darkqueen”. 

On Instagram, he continued pushing the narrative that he and JT are a happy couple, posting a photo dump on his main feed and including a shot of her, seemingly wearing the same furry boots as him in the gallery. He also posted a video of JT enjoying a crab legs snack with him after she tweeted that she was craving seafood.

It’s been a relatively lengthy wait between projects for J.I.D fans, with the Atlanta rapper’s most recent album landing with November 2018’s DiCaprio 2. And while he did put in serious work on Dreamville’s compilation Revenge Of The Dreamers 3, where his presence was both scene-stealing and substantial, many have been eagerly awaiting to see how he approaches his upcoming release, tentatively titled The Forever Story.

Unfortunately, not much has been revealed surrounding J.I.D’s next album, save for confirmation that Cordae would be likely to lend a verse when the big release comes. In addition, No I.D was originally rumored to play an integral role in the production process, though not many updates have been shared on that front; otherwise, all bets are off. Today, however, J.I.D. took a moment to give flowers to a fellow Atlanta innovator — producer extraordinaire Metro Boomin — a message that unsurprisingly sparked hype from fans eager for a collaboration. 

“dis man @MetroBoomin one da most talented and realest innnit,” writes J.I.D, over the weekend. It’s unclear what sparked his decision to praise Metro, but it certainly left many wondering how the pair would mesh on wax. The thought of J.I.D. blessing a few Metro Boomin bangers on The Forever Story is a welcome thought, and one has to wonder if this message will ultimately open the door for a link-up. And if not, it’s still nice to see J.I.D. give praise to one of his peers, even if nothing ultimately comes of it.

News that Amber Heard was fired from her role in the upcoming film Aquaman 2 spread like wildfire on social media as people reacted to her supposed career downfall. There were even rumors going around that Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen in Game Of Thrones, would be replacing her alongside her former co-star Jason Momoa. According to a senior writer from The Hollywood Reporter, those reports may not have been as believable as they seemed.

The rumors stated that Amber Heard, who has been a headline mainstay because of her libel lawsuit involving Johnny Depp, was fired because she failed to comply with the film’s health clauses. Aquaman 2, which is currently slated for a release in December 2022, was set to add Emilia Clarke as Heard’s replacement but, according to a senior writer for The Hollywood Reporter, the initial articles about Heard’s firing may have been inaccurate.

“Told by a reliable source that reports of Amber Heard being fired off ‘Aquaman 2’ are inaccurate,” tweeted Ryan Parker, a former member of a Pulitzer Prize-winning breaking news team. The reliable source didn’t offer more information than that, so this remains a confusing topic. 

This was a story that took over social media timelines this weekend with countless people commenting and even celebrating the news. Obviously, those folks will be upset to hear that Amber Heard may not have actually been outed.

One of the best sneakers of the last 30 years is the Air Jordan 4, which was the second Jumpman effort created by the likes of Tinker Hatfield. This silhouette came with four OG colorways and over the years, it has received a plethora of other dope models. One of those colorways is the “Thunder” joint which was known for its suede black upper and yellow highlights on the midsole and the side panels. 

According to the Instagram sneaker insider @zsneakerheadz, the “Thunder” is going to be making a return except this time around, the yellow will be swapped out for red. This brand new look can be found in the photoshop rendering below, which gives a good sense of what you can expect from this new offering. While some may confuse this for the “Bred” 4, it is important to distinguish how this model is actually quite different considering there is no cement grey to be found. Overall, this is a clean and stealthy model, which is sure to have wide appeal at release.

Chadwick Boseman, who passed away last August after a four-year battle with colon cancer, received a posthumous award for “Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama” at the Golden Globes, Sunday, for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Boseman’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman accepted the award in his place.

“He would thank God,” she began. “He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifice.”

The victory marks Boseman’s first Golden Globe win.

“He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice that tells you you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you were meant to be doing at this moment in history,” she continued.

Riz Ahmed in The Sound of Metal, Anthony Hopkins in The Father, Gary Oldman in Mank, and Tahar Rahim in The Mauritanian were also nominated in the category.

“We have to take all the moment to celebrate those we love, so thank you HFPA for this opportunity to do exactly that,” Boseman continued. “And hon, you keep ’em coming.”

Other winners included Daniel Kaluuya, who shouted out Nipsey Hussle while accepting the award for Best Supporting Actor.
