Draymond Green is reinstated into the NBA but reveals he thought about retiring. On an episode of his The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors star revealed that he thought about leaving the game while speaking with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about his suspension.
“I told him, ‘Adam this is too much for me. … This is too much. It’s all becoming too much for me — and I’m going to retire,’” Green said. “And Adam said, ‘You’re making a very rash decision and I won’t let you do that.’
“We had a long, great conversation — very helpful to me. Very thankful to play in a league with a commissioner like Adam who’s more about helping you than hurting you; helping you than punishing you. He’s more about the players.”
Draymond Green is on his way back to a Golden State Warriors team that is in great need of help. Green participated in a walk-through Sunday and sat on the bench as the league reinstated him after a 12-game suspension.
Green was suspended after hitting Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic during a game on Dec. 13.
“Everybody is excited to see him,” said coach Steve Kerr. “He’s one of our leaders and he’s happy to be back. So it’s a good vibe.”
Draymond is scheduled to return after a week of training.
“He’s here. He looks good, He’a excited to be here.”

Draymond Green entered counseling following his suspension from the NBA.
“People around Green and the organization said the four-time NBA champion has been understanding and prepared to undergo the process required to return to the team in a full capacity,” Shams said. “Those sources would not reveal the specifics of Green’s counseling out of respect for his privacy.”
In a press release, the NBA issued the suspension by taking “into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.”
Green had a deduction of $153,941 for each game.
