Mass Appeal’s Latest Signee Shares a Deeply Textured Single From His 4/26 Debut EP |
Using his expert sense of rhythm to accent the contours of his tasteful instrumentals, atm‘s music is ideal for headphone listening. Turning up the bass for a flexers’ anthem, atm shares “wholelottaguap,” his latest single. Complete with a textured instrumental by Cor Blanco, who layers washy synths and subsonic bass atop delicate hi-hats and crisp snares, “wholelottaguap” finds atm stringing together playalistic boasts in clipped cadences: “Three bitches, call em Stooges/Back to the crib make a movie/I don’t do well with posers/These hoes wanna hang like a poster.” “wholelottaguap” is the latest single from atm, the Teaneck, New Jersey artist’s debut EP, hitting the internet this Friday April 26th via Mass Appeal Records.
Last week, atm shared the video for “Rush,” his breakout hit single. Released in the Summer of 2018, “rush” quickly caught fire on streaming services, earning placements on Spotify’s Mellow Bars (761k followers), Dorm Daze (212k followers), and With You (56k followers) playlists. Spurred on by playlist support and word-of-mouth, “rush” racked up 1.3 million streams on Spotify and 212k SoundCloud plays. Directed by Lonewolf, “rush” is a charming and lo-fi portrait of a relationship, as atm and his girlfriend explore L.A.’s Little Tokyo district.
