Overall, Morant’s future in the NBA is in a bit of jeopardy. After flashing a gun on social media, Morant has taken an indefinite leave of absence from the Grizzlies. Ultimately, there is no telling when he will return. Moreover, he could very well face some legal repercussions as police in Colorado are investigating his actions. This is all very bad, and the Grizzlies are very concerned about their star.

Subsequently, there have been all sorts of hot takes in relation to Morant. ESPN has certainly been a source of a lot of these takes. Stephen A. Smith, Kendrick Perkins, and a whole host of others have been scolding Morant for his actions. However, there are some people who want to take a more positive approach. One of those people is Richard Jefferson, who was recently approached by TMZ. In the clip down below, it is clear that Jefferson is optimistic about Ja.

“Him and his family are good people,” Jefferson said. “I believe in him. I believe that he’ll kind of turn things on. And, look, we’ve seen men come through worse and come out on the other side.” Jefferson is certainly correct in his assessment. There are players who have come back from worse. Moreover, based on Morant’s most recent statement, it is clear that he understands how bad this looks.
