Doja Cat Says It’s Her “Undying Job” To Hate Those Who Misquote Her Lyrics

Doja Cat has recently taken to social media to call out those who have misquoted the lyrics to her new single, “Attention.” She replied to one Twitter news outlet, shading them for “butchering” her song. Doja also went on to diss Genius, claiming that the lyrics they provide are “never” correct. She went on to confirm that whoever messed up the lyrics is a “gummy dummy.”

Doja dropped “Attention” last night, leaning into Illuminati rumors with it’s accompanying music video. Earlier this week she also teased the drop, sharing a clip of the video on social media. Fans were eager to get listening to her latest offering, after she previously shared the single’s blood-splattered artwork. Speculation surrounding Doja’s upcoming album has run rampant, with listeners hoping that the single kicks off her next project.

Doja Cat Asks “Who The F**k Is The Source” For Butchered Lyrics

“Just flex bro just let me do my sh*t, Why does she think she’s Nicki M? She think she’s hot sh*t,” Rap Alert incorrectly quoted Doja’s song on Twitter, noting that she referenced Nicki Minaj. Doja then responded, “Love when they butcher my f***ing lyrics,” adding, “Who the f**k is the source for this sh*t?” When a fan asked the artist whether or not they can trust Genius to provide the correct lyrics, Doja told them no. “NEVER go to Genius for lyrics,” she writes, “EVER.” The star added a cheeky smiley face. A fan then Tweeted at Doja, “Whoever keeps messing up your lyrics is such a gummy dummy,” which she later retweeted. Doja claims it’s her “undying job to hate” those who misquote her lyrics, “for eternity.”

Doja’s recent Twitter rant wasn’t the first time she went went off on social media. Last month, she received major backlash after she called her fans “dumb” on Twitter. She also received some side-eyes after she called her albums Hot Pink and Planet Her “cash grabs.” “Y’all fell for it,” she told listeners in May, “now I can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while y’all weep for mediocre pop.”
