Diddy Steps Down From REVOLT

Diddy has made waves once again as he announces his temporary departure as the chairman of REVOLT TV

This decision comes amidst a lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend, Cassie, accusing him of rape and abuse throughout their ten-year relationship. Although Diddy has held the position since REVOLT’s launch in 2013, he is stepping down to address the controversy surrounding him.

In an Instagram post published on November 28, REVOLT shared the news of Diddy’s departure as chairman. The post stated:

“Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as chairman of REVOLT. While Mr. Combs has previously had no operational or day-to-day role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that REVOLT remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.”

A New Chapter?

The announcement sparked various reactions from social media users.

One Instagram user, @miss_mikey1, commented, “HE GUILTY!!!!!!!! Shouldn’t have had all them artists sign them terrible record deals!” while another user named @legatron11 speculated, “Mr. Combs is probably about to go to prison and he knows something we don’t.”

As REVOLT celebrates its 10th anniversary, Diddy’s absence signifies a new chapter for the company’s leadership, allowing CEO Detavio Samuels and Chief Brand Officer Deon Graham to take the reins.

As of now, it remains uncertain when Diddy will resume his role at REVOLT. However, he still maintains his positions at Bad Boy Entertainment and Combs Enterprises, continuing to oversee these companies.

More Legal Woes For The Industry

Diddy’s departure allows REVOLT to maintain its focus on creating impactful content that represents and amplifies the voices of the Black community.

Since the lawsuit filed by Cassie, Diddy has faced additional sexual assault allegations from two women who claimed he assaulted them in the 1990s. These accusations followed similar allegations against celebrities such as Jamie Foxx and Jimmy Iovine.

Scooter Braun Steps Down As Celeb Manager

This departure echoes recent changes within the music industry, as another prominent music executive, Scooter Braun, stepped down from his management position in August 2023. Braun, known for managing artists such as Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Justin, Bieber, decided to focus on his role as CEO of HYBE America.
