Tinashe Reveals The Title And Release Date For Her Upcoming Fifth Album

It’s been a couple of years since a new project from Tinashe was released, but 2019’s Songs For You turned out to be one of the most well-received releases of her career. Now the singer has announced the title and release date of her forthcoming fifth album.

Tinashe revealed in a tweet it would be titled 333. She also attached a sci-fi trailer that captures the singer getting out of bed and finding out that a third eye has mysteriously appeared on her forehead. The post was captioned “08062021,” which means that the album will arrive early next month, on August 6. Tinashe previously shared a video, which was captioned “333,” and which showed her undergoing experimental tests conducted by a group of doctors.

The announcement comes after Tinashe shared two singles that will likely appear on 333. The first is “Pasadena” and the second is “Bouncin,” and both were supported by elegant videos. She will also hit the road later this year for her 333 Tour, which launches on September 16 in Houston, Texas, and lasts for a little over a month before concluding on October 24. It will also a worldwide experience curated by Moment House, a company that specializes in virtual performances.

Here’s 5 Solo Shots Of Tinashe’s Bouncin’ Beauty

Kentucky singer Tinashe just dropped a complete banger. Her new ‘Bouncin’ music video has arrived and it is pure fire, just like the song. However, there’s a whole gold mine of Tinashe visuals out there. From modeling photos to selfies to anything she posts on social media, the “2 On” crooner keeps fans’ eyes peeled. […]

Tinashe Dances On A Trampoline In Her Exuberant ‘Bouncin’ Video

Tinashe looks like she’s having the time of her life in the video for “Bouncin,” a simple but exuberant affair in which she sticks to her strengths — namely, performing elaborate choreography as she flirts with her male co-star. In this video, the twist is the addition of some small trampolines for Tinashe and her dance team, which allow for some theme-appropriate moves that bring a new dimension to the usual kinetic direction of Tinashe’s visuals.

The video arrived just five days after the song premiered on New Music Friday, following a rollout strategy that has gotten rarer and rarer in the streaming era. It’s Tinashe’s second video of the year after the clip for “Pasadena” featuring Compton rapper Buddy and appears to be building up to her new, independently released fifth album, which fans believe will be titled 333 after Tinashe shared a teaser about the album on social media.

That speculation was reinforced by Tinashe’s announcement of the 333 Tour which will start in September and include 22 stops, concluding with a live stream on Moment House in late October. 333 will be Tinashashe’s first album since 2019’s Songs For You, which she also released independently after leaving RCA Records in 2018.

Tinashe Unveils Fall 2021 Tour Dates, Which Come Capped Off With A Virtual ‘Worldwide’ Set

Last week, Tinashe released “Pasadena” featuring Buddy, the duo’s second collaboration following last August’s “Glitch.” In the press release for the video, Tinashe said she “felt a very strong calling to release music that feels like joy, excitement, and freedom” after the past year “to contribute positive energy to the universe.” “I wrote and recorded the song Pasadena in my home in Los Angeles with a bold, bouncing tempo that makes me want to dance,” she recalled. “The song is about growth, family, and the feelings I get when I visit the area I grew up in — energetic and nostalgic, but hopeful.”

Tinashe’s Futuristic ‘Bouncin’ Flaunts Her Flirtatious Ways

As a newly independent artist, Tinashe has a lot more leeway with what she releases and when. In the case of her new song “Bouncin,” the day is today, and its release is stripped-down and no-frills. Without releasing a video or putting out a whole bunch of fanfare, Tinashe keeps the attention squarely on the music itself rather than its visual presentation or the circumstances of its rollout — a kind of old-school way of going about things that suggests she may be saving those components for a later date.

As far as the song itself goes, it fits firmly in her usual lane of futuristic-sounding, pop-leaning R&B. A flirtatious, dancefloor-ready song, “Bouncin” finds her enjoying the physicality of seducing a potential paramour. “Watch it bouncin’ on the ground / Got my edges sweating out / Turn it up extra loud,” she croons. She also jokes that she hopes her dirty pics “make it to the cloud,” which seems like the opposite of what most stars want, but hey, more power to her if it’s true.

“Bouncin” joins the Buddy-featuring “Pasadena” as the singer’s only two single releases of the year, and while that might constitute a slow rollout for a signed artist, it actually gives Tinashe more room to work her singles without the pressure of the arbitrary deadline and release schedule that might constrain her art and keep it from flourishing. She gets to take her time, which is alright with her fans because the music she’s put out lately has been stellar.

Tinashe And Buddy Get Away From It All In Their Sun-Washed ‘Pasadena’ Video

In the sun-washed video for their collaboration “Pasadena,” Tinashe and Buddy head for the hills — literally. Taking over a far-flung, glass-walled home overlooking a truly stunning view, the two California artists take in the sights from the balcony while smoking and getting away from it all. Tinashe also puts her choreography skills on display with a team of dancers giving a performance that could put TikTok’s top influencers out to pasture.

The recently released track is their second collaboration to be released over the past year after August’s “Glitch.” It’s also Tinashe’s first solo single of 2021, building on the buzz from her cover of Chaka Khan’s 1978 classic “I’m Every Woman” from The Undefeated’s Music For The Movement Volume II project celebrating Black History Month to suggest that a new project is on the way from the genre-mixing singer.

In the press release for the video, Tinashe said she “felt a very strong calling to release music that feels like joy, excitement, and freedom” after the past year “to contribute positive energy to the universe.” “I wrote and recorded the song Pasadena in my home in Los Angeles with a bold, bouncing tempo that makes me want to dance,” she recalled. “The song is about growth, family, and the feelings I get when I visit the area I grew up in — energetic and nostalgic, but hopeful.”

Tinashe And Buddy Work Their Magic Once Again On The Uplifting Anthem, ‘Pasadena’

It was almost a decade ago that Tinashe started to gain the attention of the industry as an underground singer. After a string of consistent mixtapes that turned heads, she later inked a deal with RCA and released her 2015 debut album, Aquarius, which is home to her most successful single to date, “2 On.”

However, label issues would halt the singer’s growth and she would eventually leave RCA and begin her path as an independent artist. This decision led to her 2019 album, Songs For You, a project that was praised from all around. Two years later, Tinashe is ready to start the latest chapter in her independence. However, she did bring a souvenir of her time at RCA: The connections she forged with some of her former labelmates.

The singer returns with her latest single, “Pasadena.” The uplifting track also features a verse from RCA-signed Compton rapper Buddy, whom she previously worked with on “Glitch” in 2020. On their newest collaboration, both acts are in high spirits on the summer-ready bop that finds them relishing in the sunlight and warmth that the upcoming months will surely deliver to them. In a press release, Tinashe spoke about the new track.

“After the past year we have all had, I felt a very strong calling to release music that feels like joy, excitement, and freedom – to contribute positive energy to the universe,” she said. “I wrote and recorded the song ‘Pasadena’ in my home in Los Angeles with a bold, bouncing tempo that makes me want to dance. The song is about growth, family, and the feelings I get when I visit the area I grew up in — energetic and nostalgic, but hopeful.”
