Gucci Mane Announced A ‘Gucci Mane & Friends’ Concert In Atlanta To Celebrate His ‘Breath Of Fresh Air’ Album

This Wednesday, August 16, tickets will go on sale for Gucci Mane & Friends, a one-night-only concert in Atlanta featuring the trap rap godfather and several of his frequent collaborators, as well as artists from his label, The New 1017. The show is billed for October 17th at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, coinciding with the release of Gucci’s new album, Breath Of Fresh Air. While the guest list is apparently being kept under wraps for the time being, considering Gucci’s long list of contemporaries, peers, and pupils, it’s sure to be star-studded and worth the surprise.

Artists currently signed to The New 1017 who might make appearances include BiC Fizzle, BigWalkDog, Enchanting, Hotboy Wes, KATO2X, Li Rye, Lil Zay, Mac Critter, Sett, and TLE Cinco. Unfortunately, Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty are both currently incarcerated while Big Scarr died last December from an accidental overdose. Meanwhile, former artists or acts that have collaborated with Gucci include OJ da Juiceman, Young Scooter, Peewee Longway, and Migos, while Gucci has most recently collaborated with up-and-coming talents like Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch and Nardo Wick, Kodak Black, and 21 Savage, so any number of the above names could put in appearances.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 AM and more information can be found here. You can pre-order Breath Of Fresh Air here.

Gucci Mane Advocates Against Pooh Shiesty’s “Unacceptable” Prison Conditions

Rapper and business mogul Gucci Mane used his Instagram for justice earlier this week while discussing Poosh Shiesty’s prison conditions. Tagging President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris, the “Lemonade” artist called the situation “unacceptable.”

“We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated. @poohshiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lockdown and given empty food trays,” Gucci Mane shared on Instagram Wednesday.

He then added, “USP Pollack should be investigated immediately.”

No stranger to being behind bars, the 42-year-old was released in 2016 after being imprisoned for over two years.

Shiesty, an artist under Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, was arrested last year in Florida. He was later hit with several federal charges for firearm possession, discharging a firearm, and robbery conspiracy.

The Memphis native was sentenced to 63 months in prison after allegedly opening fire on a security guard. Shiesty is also expected to be under three-year supervision following his future release.

Seemingly posting to his social media from the slammer, the “Back in Blood” rapper made a post on his Instagram in August.

“The police don’t stop watchin just cus you in jail and you can go to jail inside of jail,” he wrote. “Just let that sink in y’all small a*s unconscious head.”

Prior to his arrest, Shiesty was a rising star under the new 1017 lineup with label mates Foogiano and Big Scarr.

On how he and Gucci Mane crossed paths, he shared in early 2021 that it was a DM that sparked the relationship.

Sitting down with SiriusXM, he revealed at the time, “Yeah, he DM’ed me on Instagram. That’s how it all took off. He heard one song, “Main Slime,” and he DM’ed me. And now that’s what’s going on.”

Continuing to satisfy his fanbase, Shiesty released Shiesty Season: Certified earlier this year, a deluxe version of his previous mixtape. Gucci Mane was featured on the project along with Jack Harlow, Lil Uzi Vert, and Lil Durk.

Gucci Mane Slides 1017’s ‘So Icy Christmas’ Compilation Into Rap Fans’ Stockings

Well, half his label is going to be locked up come Christmas, but somehow that still hasn’t stopped Gucci Mane from feeling the holiday spirit and continuing his longstanding season tradition of releasing a holiday-themed compilation album. While previous years have seen new iterations of the trap pioneer’s East Atlanta Santa mixtapes (most recently in 2019), this year’s project is, like his October 2021 release So Icy Boyz, a compilation project showcasing the talents of his 1017 signees such as Bic Fizzle, Big Scarr, BigWalkDog, Enchanting, and Hot Boy Wes.

Unfortunately, two of the label’s biggest stars, Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty, are not on the compilation despite being the consensus standouts of last year’s So Icy Summer and having massive breakouts earlier this year as a result. Both rappers are locked up facing various federal charges after a series of shootings; Foogiano, in custody for skipping bail to attend a funeral a state away from his native Georgia, was indicted for a South Carolina club shootout that left two dead, while Pooh was accused of not only shooting a security guard at a Miami club but also playing Grinch during a driveway sneaker sale, shooting the seller in the buttocks and stealing the shoes (but forgetting to collect all his cash in the getaway).

Apparently, Gucci won’t let their dilemmas bring down the rest of the team, slinking down rap fans’ collective chimneys and dropping off this 17-track celebration of the season. While only a handful of the tracks seem to be actually about Christmas — namely, the ones Gucci himself is on — it’s still a worthwhile addition to his quasi-annual tradition, bringing some cheer to a December capping a year that desperately needs it.

Big30 Demands Pooh Shiesty’s Freedom In His Grimy ‘Free Shiest Life’ Video

Memphis rapper Big30 has been building his buzz over the past several months, thanks to some high-profile collaborations with his fellow Bluff City natives Moneybagg Yo and Pooh Shiesty, as well as a big-name co-sign from Atlanta trap rap godfather Gucci Mane. Today, he’s released his debut album, King Of KillBranch, as well as the grimy video for album single “Free Shiest Life” featuring the aforementioned Pooh Shiesty.

The song holds special significance as Pooh Shiesty is currently awaiting trial on a pair of cases, both involving shootings the “Back In Blood” rapper allegedly committed in the span of a year. In one case, he’s charged with aggravated battery after supposedly firing his gun in a packed club, hitting a security guard in the leg. While Pooh’s lawyers produced a statement from the victim recanting his initial police statement, Pooh was still denied bond. Then, in a stroke of just awful luck for the 2021 XXL Freshman, Pooh’s Instagram implicated him in a Miami robbery in which the victim was shot in the buttocks during a weed and sneaker deal gone awry. He was denied bail in that case, as well.

Meanwhile, Big30 seems deadset on keeping the next wave of Memphis trap rappers at the forefront of hip-hop with his new album, which contains multiple Pooh Shiesty features, two Moneybagg Yo features, an appearance from Yo Gotti, and cross-regional collaborations with Lil Durk, Quavo, and Offset.

Pooh Shiesty Has Reportedly Been Arrested On A Charge Of Aggravated Battery

Gucci Mane’s label has suffered another blow after his artist Foogiano was sentenced to five years in prison for skipping bail last month. This time, it’s 21-year-old supernova Pooh Shiesty — aka Lontrell Williams — in the hot seat, according to The Miami Herald, which reports that Shiesty was arrested for aggravated battery in connection with a shooting at the Miami nightclub King Of Diamonds over Memorial Day weekend.

Complex‘s report on the arrest partially reconstructs the events in question, with social media video purportedly depicting the “Back In Blood” rapper at the club while the person apparently filming narrates. According to the clubgoer’s commentary, someone “took” Shiesty’s money, leading to a second clip in which the commenter loudly claims “Pooh Shiesty let off in a jacker’s b*tch ass” — meaning the rapper apparently shot at someone. The final clip does show someone who looks to be the rapper — although he’s wearing a ski mask, he was the focus of the prior videos — exiting the club holding something that certainly appears to be a handgun.

According to Miami Herald, the rapper did turn himself in on Tuesday. The Herald obtained an arrest warrant which said Shiesty shot a security guard in the leg.

Gucci Mane’s Artist Foogiano Has Been Sentenced To Five Years In Prison For Skipping House Arrest

Gucci Mane’s New 1017 Records roster is a man down after Foogiano, best known for his single “Molly,” was sentenced to five years in prison for fleeing house arrest, according to the Athens Banner-Herald. Foogiano, whose real name is Kwame Khalil Brown, was arrested in December of 2020 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but he was released on $50,000 bail with the condition that he remain in Georgia and wear an ankle monitor.

However, his ankle monitor was found on the side of a road in Barrow County and Foogiano was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee on March 11 after apparently melting the monitor and disappearing. US Marshall’s apprehended him at the funeral of fellow 1017 rapper Pooh Shiesty‘s brother, waiting until the service was over before making the arrest. According to Foogiano’s attorney Brandon Lewis, the rapper had cut his ankle monitor and fled in order to attend the birth of his son, who was due around the time he disappeared.

Foogiano learned that there was an arrest warrant out for him but decided not to turn himself in. His recently born son brings his total number of children to six. He was also named along with Gucci Mane in a wrongful death lawsuit after a woman was shot to death in a nightclub where the rappers were performing.
