The Detroit Lions (11-1) host the Green Bay Packers (9-3) Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video in what promises to be an exciting matchup. The Lions are on a 10-game winning streak, the longest in the NFL and tied for their franchise’s longest ever.

With the NFC’s top-ranked offense, Detroit will face Green Bay, who ranks second in offensive yards per game. This is the first game in over two years featuring two teams, each averaging 380-plus yards of offense since Week 15 of 2021.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur continues to impress, with 65 regular-season wins in his first six seasons, ranking second in NFL history. Green Bay running back Josh Jacobs has a chance to make history, aiming for a record sixth consecutive game with at least 100 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown on Thursday.

Detroit quarterback Jared Goff enters the game with 100 career regular-season touchdown passes for two franchises, joining an elite group of quarterbacks. Meanwhile, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is closing in on a remarkable 400 receptions in his first four seasons, a milestone only achieved by a few others in NFL history.

In a commanding display, Detroit quarterback Jared Goff completed 18 of 22 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown, achieving a passer rating of 109.3, as the Lions triumphed over the Green Bay Packers 24-14. Goff’s stellar performance was complemented by wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who caught a touchdown pass, and safety Kerby Joseph, who made a game-changing interception return for a touchdown.

Goff’s recent play has been nothing short of extraordinary. With an 82.8 completion percentage (106 of 128) over his last six games, he surpassed Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning’s previous record of 78.3% (137 of 175) set in 2008 for the highest completion percentage in a six-game span within a season in NFL history. This remarkable accuracy underscores Goff’s effectiveness as a quarterback, allowing the Lions to sustain drives and capitalize on scoring opportunities.

Additionally, Goff boasts a passer rating of 140.1 in his last six games, breaking the record previously held by Brock Purdy, who achieved a 138.1 rating in 2023 with the San Francisco 49ers. Goff’s ability to perform at such a high level showcases his skill and positions him among the elite quarterbacks in the league.

Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to establish himself as a top-tier receiver, now totaling 363 receptions for 4,052 yards and 27 touchdowns in his career. He became just the fourth player in NFL history to record at least 350 receptions, 4,000 receiving yards, and 25 touchdown receptions within his first four seasons, joining the ranks of notable talents like Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Thomas.

On the defensive side, safety Kerby Joseph’s interception return for a touchdown highlighted his impact this season. He is now one of only six players since 2000 to record an interception in six of his team’s first eight games, alongside names like Trevon Diggs and Xavier McKinney.

As the Lions continue to build momentum this season, Goff’s leadership and the contributions of St. Brown and Joseph will be critical in their pursuit of success in the NFC North. With this victory, Detroit solidifies its position as a formidable contender, showcasing a potent blend of offensive efficiency and defensive prowess.

Cowboys Cheerleaders Accuse Packers Players Of “Unsportsmanlike Conduct”

A Dallas Cowboy cheerleader has spoken out over what she called “unsportsmanlike conduct” on the part of the Green Bay Packers. “I have never experienced such disrespect from the other teams’ players to the cheerleaders in my five years as an NFL cheerleader. We would literally be minding our own business and the Packers just scored a touchdown — this is one example. They would come up to us standing on the sidelines minding our own business and start yelling at us,” Darian Lassiter said on TikTok.

Furthermore, Lassiter questioned why cheerleaders were not covered by rules addressing player behavior. “I feel like it’s unsportsmanlike conduct and it’s so crazy how they can’t do that to the Cowboys players or any other players, but they can do it to the cheerleaders and nothing’s going to happen. I understand the playoffs is a huge deal. I truly get it, but that does not mean your humbleness and respect for women flies out the window.”

Cowboys Retain Mike McCarthy

Meanwhile, despite the blowout loss to Green Bay, the Cowboys have chosen to retain Mike McCarthy as their head coach. “I believe that the direction, the leadership, everything is in place. And I’m not very comfortable talking about myself, but I came here to win a championship. I didn’t come here to get another contract or anything other than that. I came to Dallas to win a world championship, and that’s why I’m standing here. Buy into us,” McCarthy said in a press conference.

However, the decision makes 2024 an all-or-nothing year for the team. In four years under McCarthy, the team has three playoff appearances but just one playoff win. They have posted three consecutive 12-5 seasons but are still yet to reach the conference championship game for the first time since 1995. While Dak Prescott had a career year and was named Second Team All-Pro, the Cowboys continue to collapse when it matters most. Of course, Stephen A. Smith had a lot to say about the decision as well, going off on a loud rant during First Take.

Jaire Alexander Suspended For Coin Toss Blunder

Jaire Alexander has been suspended for one game by the Green Bay Packers for his actions during the coin toss against the Panthers last weekend. Alexander joined the team captains for the toss and won with a call of tails. However, Alexander then declared that the Packers “wanted to defend”. This is not the same as saying that the team wanted to defer their pick until the second half. If the game official hadn’t clarified with Alexander, it could have seen the Panthers start both halves of the game with the ball.

“The decision to suspend a player is never easy and not one we take lightly. Unfortunately, Jaire’s actions prior to the game in Carolina led us to take this step. As an organization, we have an expectation that everyone puts the team first. While we are disappointed, we had a good conversation with Jaire this morning. We fully expect him to learn from this as we move forward together. We look forward to welcoming him back next week. He is a valued member of this team and will continue to be in the future,” GM Brian Gutekunst said in a statement.

Packers Without Jaire Alexander For Crucial Vikings Game

However, the decision to suspend Alexander means that the Packers will be without the star cornerback for a do-or-die game against the Vikings. Both teams are 7-8 and are still in the running for the NFC wild-card spot. However, the loser of next weekend’s game will be eliminated from contention. The decision to suspend Alexander means that the Packers will have to find another way to contain Justin Jefferson.

Alexander didn’t show any remorse for the incident after the game. “It’s only suiting. I don’t think Coach knew I was from Charlotte, so,” he explained why he went to the toss with the team captains. Alexander has missed a great deal of the season with a shoulder injury. Furthermore, this comes at the tail end of a season in which Alexander forfeited $700,000 by skipping most of the team’s offseason training. He attempted to justify this by saying that he stayed at the Packers’ facility longer than most players after the end of last season.

Taylor Swift Cheers On Travis Kelce & The Chiefs As They Take On The Packers

Taylor Swift was in attendance for the Kansas City Chief’s latest game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. She rocked an oversized red coat over a black turtleneck. During the broadcast, she watched on alongside Brittany Mahomes as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, came up just short of a comeback win with a failed hail mary attempt to end the game.

Kelce finished with four catches for 81 yards as the Chiefs lost 19-27. With the loss, they fall to 8-4 on the season, keeping them in first place in the AFC West. The Packers, on the other hand, are now 6-6 and in third place in the NFC North.

It’s far from the first time Taylor Swift has attended one of Travis Kelce’s games this season. She first made an appearance at the Chiefs’ blowout win over the Bears back in September. Additionally, the star tight end recently traveled to Buenos Aires to attend the singer’s Eras Tour show in November. On stage, Swift switched up the lyrics to her hit song, “Karma,” to shout out her new boyfriend. She sang: “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.” Afterward, Kelce discussed the moment on his podcast, New Heights. “Yeah, no, had no clue. Well, I might have had a little bit of a clue but definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, still shocked me. I was like, ‘Oh, shh,’ she really just said that,” Kelce admitted on the show.

Swift’s appearance at Sunday night’s game comes after she recently congratulated Kelce on amassing 11,000 total receiving yards for his career. In doing so, she liked an Instagram post noting the feat. Be on the lookout for further updates on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance on HotNewHipHop.

Lil Wayne Leads Out The Packers Before “Thursday Night Football”

Lil Wayne was in Wisconsin this week and had the honor of leading the Green Bay Packers onto the field before their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Lions. Wayne looked ecstatic as he roared and screamed as the Packers players ran past him. However, there was also an element of hilarity as the 5″5 rapper was absolutely dwarfed by the Packers squad.

However, Wayne couldn’t inspire a victory for the home team. The Packers were thoroughly dismantled 34-20 by the Lions. Things were so bad that the Lions led 27-3 at halftime. The one-sided loss drops the Packers to 2-2 on the season while giving the Lions (3-1) firm control over the NFC North. Jordan Love threw for 246 yards while the Packers only managed 27 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, Lions RB David Montgomery absolutely dominated, with 121 yards and three touchdowns on the day.

Lil Wayne Praises Deion Sanders

However, the Packers aren’t the only team that’s been getting the Lil Wayne love. Wayne has been all-in on Deion Sanders for years now, with Coach Prime saying the rapper is like a son to him. “I never doubt Unc. I would never doubt him. I think if you were to ask me that question before the season or even before that day I walked in there, I think I probably would have said the same thing. I would have said I could see them at 3-0. I spoke to him that night and his confidence was through the roof, past the stars and the moon” Wayne told Billboard earlier in the college season.

Furthermore, Wayne revealed a little more about Sanders’ cultural mentality. “Honestly, with Unc, this ain’t even him trying to bring hip-hop to it, it’s him just going off the vibes and the moods of the kids that he’s coaching. If they love Taylor Swift, he’ll try his hardest to get her up in there. [Laughs.] Trust me, he’s just going off the vibes. Like I said, they’ll run through walls for him because they understand that he’ll do whatever for them, as well. He’s only going to do it for the better of them.”

Lil Wayne Celebrates As Aaron Rodgers Intends To Join The Jets

Lil Wayne celebrated as he learned that the Green Bay Packers intend to send Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets. In a clip shared by Karen Civil, Wayne didn’t hold anything back when discussing the news. “Honestly, I feel like, ‘Yeah!” he exclaimed when asked about the move. Rodgers announced the decision during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Wednesday. Rodgers was a routine guest on the show throughout the season.

“I made it clear my intention was to play and my intention was to play for the New York Jets,” Rodgers said. “And I haven’t been holding anything up at this point. It’s been compensation that the Packers are trying to get for me.” He also described his departure as “bittersweet.” “I fucking love that city. I love that organization and always going to have love for that organization. The facts are right now they want to move on, and now so do I,” he said.

Wayne, a longtime Packers fan, has criticized Rodgers at several points over the last year. “Man as a Packers fan, all I can say is R E L A P S E!!! I been done w 12 12 been done w football Now when tf are they gon be done w 12???????!!!!! Idk but GO PACK GO,” he said on Twitter at one point.

As for how he became a Green Bay fan, Wayne previously revealed during an episode of ESPN’s First Take that his dad brought home Packers gear for the family after Super Bowl XXXI. “The Packers won, pops came home with Packers everything, cups, towels,” he said. “They get put with the real towels. You bathe and use those towels every day and those cups are used every day. I had to use a Green Bay Packers cup, a Green Bay Packers towel every day.”

Aaron Rodgers Hints At Retirement Again

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers were eliminated from playoff contention last night. It was certainly a rough go for Packers fans, as they lost by four points to the Detroit Lions. They needed to win to get in, however, Rodgers ended up coming short after a lackluster performance.

As a whole, this season was not kind to Rodgers. He struggled with his rookie receivers at the start of the year, and by the time they got chemistry, it was just a bit too late. Overall, it was a bad way to end the season, especially after being a perennial threat to win the Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers Retiring?

Just like in seasons past, Rodgers is now hinting at retirement. He typically does this whenever he is eliminated from the playoffs. However, now he is doing it after not making the playoffs, entirely. In the clip below, courtesy of TMZ Sports, you can see exactly what Rodgers had to say after his team lost to the Lions. Overall, he sounds pretty dejected.

“At some point the carousel comes to a stop and it’s time to get off,” Rodgers said. “I feel good about what I’ve accomplished in this league and wouldn’t have any regrets walking away. But I gotta see what it feels like once I get away from this.”

Rodgers had signed an extension last summer after indicating that he wanted to be traded. Clearly, Rodgers was just saying that for leverage, and it ultimately worked in his favor. Now, however, it is truly up in the air as to whether or not he will ever return.

Let us know what you think Rodgers should do, in the comments below. Additionally, keep it locked to HNHH for more news and updates from around the sports world.

Lil Wayne Reacts To Packers Missing Playoffs

Lil Wayne responded to the Green Bay Packers missing the playoffs on Twitter, Sunday. Following the team’s Week 18 loss to the Detroit Lions, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers were eliminated from the postseason.

“Pls do me a favor and don’t call or text me I don’t want talk,” Wayne wrote on Twitter after the loss.

After the game, Rodgers prompted speculation about his future with the organization as NBC cameras caught him refusing to give Jameson Williams his jersey. Rodgers explained that he’s “gonna hold on to this one.”

Rodgers addressed his NFL future more formally in the postgame press conference.

“It’s a little raw right now,” Rodgers told reporters. “It’s just a little bit after the game, so I wanna take the emotion out of it and have conversations and see where the organization is, and see how I feel after some time has passed.”

“Do I feel like I have anything left to prove to myself?” he later asked. “Do I wanna go back and gear up for another grind? Or is it time? Is it time to step away? Is it time for another voice to be leading this team? I think I need to get away and contemplate those things. … It could be time to step away. But I could take some time and say, ‘Hell no, man, I need to get back out there and go another run.’ But I’ll have to see what it feels like once I’m away from it.”

Wayne, who has been a lifelong Packers fan, has previously stated that the team should’ve already gotten rid of Rodgers.

Despite the win for the Lions, the Seattle Seahawks took the final playoff spot in the NFC.
